The Powell Max Glass Spook-Trap Casting Rod was designed by Elite Series Pro, Jared Lintner specifically for fishing bigger lipless crankbaits, and larger walking topwater baits. Exclusively available at Tackle Warehouse, the combination of rod's sensitive, forgiving tip and powerful backbone are perfectly suited to the task.
Featuring a glass blank construction, the upper third of the rod has the ideal tip for walking a spook, while still providing the sensitivity needed to detect the difference between grass and subtle bites when fishing a lipless crankbait. The mid-section of the rod also provides the power to rip a heavy lipless crankbait out of thick vegetation, while delivering the backbone to dish out solid hooksets on long casts with a big walking-bait.
Extremely light in weight as well, the rod's length of 7-feet is perfect for throwing long accurate casts all day with minimal fatigue. Equipped with premium Fuji Alconite Guides at Concept Spacing and a Fuji TCS Reel Seat for excellent durability and maximum sensitivity transfer, the Powell Spook-Trap Rod also features a Split-Grip Handle design with high-grade Cork Grips for additional weight reduction and potent fish-fighting leverage. Filling the void left by the other topwater and lipless crankbait rods on the market, the Powell Max Glass Spook-Trap Casting Rod is precision engineered and tested to fish larger lipless crankbaits and big walking topwater baits at their full potential.

Comments: Awesome rod, Powell does it again. Loved it so much I bought a second one so I don't have to re-tie when switching between topwater and rat-l-traps. Paired both with Revo Winches.

Comments: Love this rod. I've fished this rod the last 2 years & I think I've had maybe 4 or 5 fish throw baits on me & landed I don't know how many barely hooked fish without yanking the hooks out. It's not super light, but you can't expect super light when ordering a glass rod, but it's definitely not what I'd call heavy or a chore to fish either. I fish it with either a Revo Inshore, Winch, or Patriarch & it balances great, throws baits farther than I need to, has a good feel for reaction baits, the backbone to set the hooks, & the softness to not yank trebles out of their mouths. In short, this is about as good as it gets when you're looking for a trap specific rod, while also handling bigger(1/2oz or more) treble topwaters great & working well on spinnerbaits in a pinch. Highly recommend.

Comments: Rod is very good all around. Casts great, works a spook great, but it's heavy compared to most rods. Probably because it's glass. Over all it's fine, but when throwing a spook and needing to work one all day your shoulder will be tired.

Comments: This rod is outstanding!! Amazingly strong and sensitive for glass and can cast a mile. Haven't used it for topwaters yet but for traps it's awesome!! Would recommend to anyone!

Comments: What a great Rod. Light, sensitive, comfortable and accurate. This rod has perfect power for ripping your bait out of weeds yet is still sensitive to feel the smallest bite. I own several Powell rods and would recommend any of them to someone not familiar with the Powell brand. You will not be disappointed.

Comments:This rod is $$$$$ when it comes to fishing Spooks and Lipless Crankbaits. It casts a mile, has the perfect amount of tip for "walking the dog" and has plenty of backbone to pull fish (or your lure) out of the thick stuff.

Comments:Great rod. Powell has done it again. Works traps like a dream.

Comments:Finally found the perfect rod for for working traps in the grass.

Comments:Very sweet rod! Haven't used it for topwater yet but it is amazing for ripping a heavy Rat-l-traps and LVR outta the grass. Traps are a big part of my fishing and now I have a rod that is made perfect for it. I put on 30lb braid and high speed Revo on it. Man it is a good combo. The grass down here takes a long time to die so I've had plenty of use with this rod.
From:Gus: Brandon, MS
Comments:Powells done it!! The rod is light, plenty of backbone to rip traps from the thickest hydrilla patches. The forgiving tip section really makes it hard for fish to throw traps. This is the rod many are looking for, thank goodness it finally arrived. Anyone buying this rod will be impressed.
