In response to the new wave of smaller diameter and stronger fishing line, Quantum completely redesigned their Performance Tuned Series (PTiB) into smaller, faster and lighter reels. As 'finesse' fishing has taken off in the bass fishing world, Quantum has made the adjustment and designed reels perfect for the task. The three areas Quantum's engineers focused on to reduce the reels' weight were the reel body, the Line Management System and rotor design. Comments: Comments:Bought this model last year, previous model was a shimano Sahara. I had problems with the drag grabbing and not being consistently staying where I set it. Compared to my wife's Kinetic this reel feels notchy when reeling, had it checked out from a qualified quantum service agent "these things are normal for a Quantum in this price range'. When it dies I'm going back to shimano.
