Overview

A true finesse popper, the River2Sea's Bubble Pop Series features the action of a small walking bait with the spitting sound of a popper. Openings in the gill plates create sound and leave a trail of bubbles to draw fish in for a look. Premium finishes and super sharp hooks finish the job.

Please Note: Only the 65-size comes with a feathered trailer hook.

Comments: I have experimented with a lot of different poppers and own them all, from high end JDMs to POP-Rs. This bait in the 88 size is one of my favorites. I am surprised by the negative reviews below. IMO, if you are looking for a bigger popper, the 88 is hard to beat. It is a consistent producer for me with many bass in the 3-6 lb range. I fish this bait slowly around lay downs with a pop pop pause cadence - it makes a great chugging sound and splash. I seldom walk this bait, but you can. I have bought several colors, but the abolony shad and terminator have worked well for me. Hooks are good right out of the package.

From: Simon: 1/18/23

Comments: This bait clearly has either some sort of weight distribution issue or the angle of the mouth sitting in the water is off. Either way, it does not function properly. It will not pop, it only skips across the surface when attempted to pop. River2Sea baits are usually pretty good, but this one is the exception. I would look into alternative brands if you want to invest $10-$11 on a popper.

From: Ethan: NC 10/23/22

Comments: This popper is not worth the money at all. Does not pop consistently and overall has a really weak action. I wouldnt spend the money on this bait

From: Unknown: California 7/27/21

Comments: Not a fan of this lure, I had high hopes when purchasing this bait but after several fishing trips I'm not happy with it at all. As mentioned in several other reviews there is a design flaw that makes this bait take on water and dive under the surface when attempting to chug it or walk it. To make matters worse and for me this is the most disappointing and irritating thing about this lure...it doesn't even pop! When attempting to work it slow and pop it every 5-7 seconds it doesn't even do that. I have tried every way imaginable and all it does is just clumsily splash up water, it won't even make that classic popping sound and do what the bait is named for. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying this bait especially at the high price point. Go buy a Strike King KVD Popper or a Rebel Pop-R.

From: John: Pennsylvania 6/26/19

Comments: Not a fan, I use a couple different retrieves with my poppers and it's decent for working slow but awful for fast retrieves. It has a very inconsistent forward motion after the pop and it starts to dive if worked too fast, this also causes it to walk poorly. Much better poppers for less

From: Unknown 7/3/18

Comments: I have caught some big bass on this lure this year. I have been targeting heavy submerged vegetation & lay downs. This bait is really easy to walk but I find that giving it a hard pop & letting it sit for a few seconds will call big fish up. I swapped out the treble hooks with Gamakatsu's. I purchased the Funky Tiger in the 88 size. You will not be disappointed with this bait, I promise!

From: Matt: Frederick, MD

Comments: The 88 in Funky Tiger has become my go-to topwater. Walking this bait over grass that hasn't topped out has boated me some Guntersville monsters. This year, I caught more than 40 fish on this topwater. Had to replace both hooks because of the heavy use, but that's expected with any lure. Great action and great lure. Best $8 I spent this year.

From: Justin: Guntersville, AL 9/9/14

Comments: Guys im here to tell you, you will not find a better popper for under $15 then this one.  Walks, spits, does about anything a rico will do.  Bass love them and they are extremely durable.  The diacchi hooks are dangerously sharp.

From: Steve

Comments: awesome bait. i purchased the large one Aurora Black, it is like walking the dog on steroids. fished it twice in slow conditions and caught bass 5lb'ers each time. very fun to fish with, work it slow and if bass are present they will smoke it. i promise they can't resist. i did put larger hooks on it.

From: Michael: meadville,ms,usa

Comments: Don't waste your money, used once filled with water on second cast due to flaw in the manufacturing process

From: Pete: MD

Comments: This is an excellent popper. The quality is top notch with the sharpest hooks I have ever seen a bait come with.  The smallies are killing this thing. I'd recommend this lure in a second. You definately won't be disappointed in the craftsmanship and quality of this lure.

From: Cory: Upper Midwest

Comments: Don't waste your money. No better than any other popper and twice the price.

Comments: i purchased 3 of these poppers when they first hit the market. they are great baits and the only popper that comes close to the best ever, which is the hula popper. fish them slow and you cannot go wrong. color is not important altho black is my choice. their like a pop "r" on steroids.

From: Wes: Salinas, CA

Comments: got 2 of the bubble walkers and they work great and one of these but got it in the smallest size and it was a little to small so im getting the 3.5 inch and cant wait for it to get here

From: Matt: IL

Comments: Great topwater lure for morning and evening. Its unique profile and holes in the mouth allow this thing to pop, swoosh, and leave bubbles across the top of the water for added visuals. Stays true, and the hooks are extremely sharp.
