Overview
The completely weedless design of The Southern Lure Company Scum Frog Popper allows it to gurgle and pop effortlessly over and around weedbeds, lilypads, limbs, and stumps. The Scum Frog Popper is designed to make more noise than the original Scum Frog. Easily fishing in places other lures can't go, the Scum Frog Popper won't hang up or pick up moss. Although the Scum Frog Popper is weedless, its super soft body gives plenty of catching power.

Comments: I am constantly adjusting the body of this frog to fit back inside the hooks because it gets bit so much. I've been trying to fish a reservoir that is choked out by weeds, and using this frog out produced any other frog, weedless spoon or any soft plastic technique BY FAR. Word to wise (or not) don't throw this on a med light rod with braid. The rod will snap. I may or may not speak from experience ;)

Comments: The Scumfrog Popper just happened to be the first frog I ever fished. Having no experience in them, I just remember seeing the name, and remembering their recommendations. And, at about 3 dollars, what did I have to lose? It turned out to be one of those "best-bang-for-the-buck" purchases. Yeah, it was a bit tough to cast out, since it was quite light, but once you got the hang of it, it was manageable. The popping and splashing action was terrific and really got the bass's attention. I acquired others over the years. The only ones that seem to match or best the Scumfrog, IMO, would be the Booyah Pad Crashers. My Mann's frog is not the same, and the Lunkerfrogs that I've received in my tacklebox subscriptions are absolute garbage that fill up with water, constantly. I took that Scumfrog off my line, last year, laid it down, and ended up forgetting to pick it up when I moved, and haven't been able to find them locally, again (I think I musta picked it up at GM), so I'm glad to see that TW still carries them, so I will be picking one up in the future. Thanks TW!

Comments: I love the mini scumfrog poppers. The problem I have found is the solid white body red eyes. I believe red pearl is what is called. I used to be able to get white body with red and white skirts. The red and black isnt working as well. I've used thia lure for 12 plus years. I could get a tackle shop to order me a box at a time. A box would last me a season maybe a couple would make it to the next spring. Well he has become ill and closed shop. I still talk with with the guy but I dont want to bother him for my special little scum frogs. Is there a way that I can have them with the red and white skirts please. I've tried to put my own on it but never works the same. Please help

Comments: It's light and not very castable, but with your reel set right it will still get out far enough. It's got a great hookup ratio because it collapses so well. It walks a little bit too, but the popping action is very good. Have had some great bites on this frog.

Comments: This is by far my favorite frog, with a few other Scum Frog models (the Original and the Chugger) coming in close behind. Scum Frog baits seem have very good hookup ratios, even better than some of my topwaters with treble hooks. And the popper has always drawn more strikes for me than most frogs. And the price is nice too. I'm not opposed to paying extra for a bait that catches more or bigger fish, bit it's always nice when you can get 2 or 3 for the price of 1. The main downside to this bait and the original Scum Frog is that they are very light, which can make it harder to make long casts with a Heavy action rod, and tough for fish to detect the bait under matted grass. But popping frogs are meant to be fished in sparse cover anyway. Unlike some popping frogs, the design of this frog does allow it to slide over grass without hanging up, if necessary, to get from pocket to pocket.

Comments: I have been an angler for 8 years now and I prefer the scum frog popper. Ever since I have been fishing, I have tried out a various amount of top water lures. I gave them all a chance but this one was clearly the best. My boyfriend Josh and I, who is a all-state angler for his college, had a fish off. With the Scum Frog Popper, I won by far! I would recommend this product to any fellow angler.

Comments: I have been fishing for 26 years and tournament fishing for about 11 years. At one point the scum frog was one of the best frogs you could buy. However, that hasn't been the case since the summer of 1994 when joe diffie was still rocking on the radio. Newer frogs, even from this same company have two legs with much thinner tassels to provide much more action while walking the dog providing the ultimate fishability. I'm not taking anything away from this frog just like I'm not taking anything away from Joe Diffie, but the there are a lot better frogs out there. Similarly, you could use a jitterbug or you can use a lucky craft sammy. Jitterbug is fun, but the sammy is a lot more practical.

Comments: One of my favorite lures. I could not disagree with Josh more. "Fishably"?? That is not even a real word. I don't know who this guy is or why he has the credibility to be talking about this lure, but I know that I have outfished any other frog using this scum frog popper. It is the one must have top water lure.

Comments: I guess i can partially agree with the earlier comments.... perhaps good for the money, but long story short, my cheapbutt bro bought one instead of a spro and the fishably of it was as equally crappy to the way it looked. this bait can't walk and only attracted brim. me and my buddies all had a great time froggin that day but not so much my brother. I need not now to tell you what kinda frog is at the top of his xmas list ahaha

Comments: This is my favorite "rat" type bait .because the hookup percentage is must higher than most. The one negative is you often get one that sinks or snags grass constantly. I've been using these for several years and have probably thrown 50% of them away shortly after opening the package. If you can't keep the bait on top, it's pretty much useless. Keep that in mind when looking at the cost of the bait.

Comments: I am a long time frog fisherman, and i have used alot of expensive frogs, but for 3 bucks, you cannot go wrong. i will use this frog forever to pull huge bass out of any cover

Comments:I am a full blown frogaholic and use hollow bodied frogs probably 70% of the time I'm on the water. I've tried many of the expensive frogs but keep going back to this. The number of strikes and hookup percentage is just higher using the popping Scum Frog. While it excels in vegetation and scum, working it parallel to the bank or even in open water will draw many mind-blowing strikes. My favorite lure and much more versatile than you'd think.
