Customer Reviews

Comments: If you like to hold your spinning tackle with all fingers above the reel foot and right-handed, you will find the hook keeper is in the worst possible position. They have placed it exactly where an index finger would lay when gripping a spinning rod at the top of the reel seat. Pairing this with one of the new compact body design Shimano reels (e.g., Saros) makes the combo impossible to fish as the reel's rotor will hit you in the knuckles while you're scraping your fingers on the misplaced hook keeper. Otherwise, the rod feels solid with quality components. This has the same comfortable reel seat as the last generation Crucials which are very minimalistic and do not allow your hands to come into contact with reel seat threads. If you hold the rod with fingers straddling the reel foot, it could be a great rod for you.

Comments: Bought a 2014 model 7'2" med heavy spinning rod and tried to pair it with a 3000 Saros. That was a mistake!  There is no balance with this rod, as the tip is extremely heavy. I almost feel like it needs a counter-weight in the butt, or I should pair it with a light duty saltwater reel. Its already a heavy rod; I can only imagine what that would feel like. I've used Shimano rods for years, but with their new crappy warranty and my experience with this rod, I think I'm looking elsewhere.

Comments: This is by far the best rod I have ever owned.  I bought the 7' 2" drop shot rod and it has has been amazing, and has improved my drop shot fishing by leaps and bounds.  I highly suggest buying this rod and tackle warehouses packaging and shipping is the best in the industry!

Comments: Coating around eyes chipped off after very little use. Great customer service though. Had the older model that was 2 years past its warranty and they still replaced it no questions asked free of charge

Comments: Awesome rod for finesse tactics, but handles a little heavier stuff pretty good... I was even able to use a Scumfrog on one in a pinch, and it still worked! I give this rod a 5/5

From: Chris: USA

Comments:  Got the 6'8" M 6-12 lb Compre as a replacement for the 6'6" M 6-12 lb previous series Compre. Disappointed in it's feel.  I fish only Shimano reels, but stick to Powell for rods.
