Offering the ideal actions, tapers and lengths for fishing frogs, the Shimano Crucial Frog Rods are engineered with premium IM-10 graphite blanks. Intensely designed, they are responsive and powerful yet extremely lightweight. Premium Fuji Alconite Guides at Concept Spacing also facilitate greater casting distance and accuracy, and are durable enough to stand up to the abuses of frog fishing. Offering 80% greater compression strength, Alconite ceramic is also 20% lighter than other ceramic. New custom, no thread Shimano Reel Seats furnish a sturdy base for your reel with direct access to the rod blank, and they fasten from below the reel for a sleek, threadless look. Rounding out the premium features, split grip handles and EVA Grips balance out each rod and provide all day comfort. Offering top quality components at a reasonable price, the Shimano Crucial Frog Rods are a new addition to the proven Crucial line-up of rods.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Awesome! I have the 7' 2" paired with an Abu Garcia Generation 3 STX 7:1 for my froggin stick. It's a sweet set up! These Crucial rods are by far the best for whatever application you're using them for.

From: MRH: SB, CA

Comments: I just broke the 7'-2" rod by swinging a small fish in the boat. TW & Shimano are standing by their products and sending me a new one. No Questions asked! These rods are worth every penny..

From: Mike: FL

Comments:  I bought the 7'9 Extra Heavy and its all you need in a frog rod. Has the perfect tip to make a frog dance and that strong backbone you need to pull that fish out of cover. The length of this rod also gives you good leverage to keep that fish pinned and to get it out quickly. If you have the money I would recommend this rod to anyone.

From: Adrian: SoCal

Comments: I am in love with this rod! it feels like a medium with the action and power of a med hvy! its super light and extremely sensitve and its one of the few frog rods out there with an extra fast action tip! I will most def be grabing a 7'9 as well.
