Shimano Crucial Split Grip Casting Rods - $159.99 to $179.99
Delivering tournament caliber performance and proven reliability, the new and improved Shimano Crucial Split Grip Casting Rods also features split grips for increased weight reduction. On top of that, the Crucials’ new super sensitive C4S-HM blanks are also now 28% lighter than the previous Crucial blanks. The blank construction process utilizes vertical and horizontal layers of graphite sandwiched between two layers of carbon tape for significantly improved power and strength.
Premium Fuji Alconite Guides at Concept Spacing maximize the performance and attributes of each blank, while also providing the durability to stand up to rigorous fishing. Custom Shimano reel seats provide a lightweight comfortable base for your reel, and Grade A cork handles deliver all day comfort. Perfect for a range of bass fishing applications, the Shimano Crucial Split Grip Casting Rods are lighter, stronger and more sensitive than ever before.

Comments: I have both the 7 and 7' 6" micropuls. They are beefier rods than most giving them a little more weight but not unmanageable. These rods are tough enough to cross over to other species of larger fish. They have good vibration and I am pleased with them. The customer service is weak if you need a repair. Time for return is lengthy and quality not the best. There is no phone number on the website so you are stuck with email.

Comments: I recently picked up the 6'10" MHF and I must say I love this rod. I've got nothing bad to say about it, and it's quickly became my new favorite rod. It throws a mile, the action is great for bigger crankbaits, topwater, spinner/buzzbaits, and even for plastics. I love the new cork handles and I'm glad Shimano is using cork again. The grip itself is very comfortable and it holds down my Chronarch ci4 very nicely. The rod is very light and balanced, but also has plenty of backbone for whenever you need it. I've had no problems flipping 3 pounders into the boat. I'm sure I'll be picking up another one or two of these rods in the future. Great job Shimano.
