Comments: In my opinion besides the Stella, this is the best spinning reel Shimano makes even better than the Sustain. It's also aluminumj just like the Stella. The Sustain is plastic.

Comments: I have the 4000FJ and I use it primarily for saltwater fishing. I'm not a boat enthusiast - I wade fish on reef flats, scale cliff sides to access cuts in the reef, and surf cast. This reel can handle saltwater spray, wave action, and the occasional dunking without seizing. I also have the older 4000. It's been through much more torment and is still going strong with little to no maintenance so this current 4000 should last me the long haul as well. If you purchase a stradic for saltwater use it's best to spray it down with fresh/rain water to keep from saltwater corrosion though. SHIMANO FOR LIFE!!!!!!

Comments: This is the best spinning reel I've used.  I bought the 2500 and it's smooth, quiet and as reliable today as the day I opened it.  I also have a CI4 2500 and I don't like it nearly as much as the my Stradic 2500FJ.  I have this one paired with a G. Loomis NRX Blue Mag Med 6'10" with Nanofil. Awesome setup!

From: Matt: Washington State

Comments: Bought the 2500 fj and out of the box it felt terrible. I took it apart and the upper pinion bearing felt rough. I replaced it with the pinion bearing out of one of my old symetres which has the same bearing. Put it back together and it felt way smoother. This is crazy for a reel of this price. I'm to the point where i don't think there's a good spinning reel made anymore.

Comments: I have the 5000 size. probably the best spinning reel I have ever owned. Use it for back water Snook and Reds, I also use it for Pike up  in Minnesota. Handles both fish amazingly. I have 30 pound super slick power pro on it. Have it sitting on a St. Croix, amazing setup!!

From: Chong: naples, Fl

Comments: This is probably one of the best spinning reels I have ever owned. It's so smooth and handles amazing I have a few high priced reels and this one handles just as smooth as the rest of them. If your on the fence about this and the stradic ci4 and don't want to spend a whole lot this real is perfect a friend of mine has a ci4 and there's no difference. I love throwing small soft plastic jerk baits, grubs, wacky senkos, and small crankbaits are perfect for this rod. The easy access oil port makes maintaining this reel a breeze. Good luck and tight lines.

Comments: I am a huge fan of Shimano Sradic 2500 size reels with  8 pound line and small jerk baits and #7 Shad Raps. It is a fish catching machine.

From: Dan: Cary, NC

Comments: Best spinning reel I have ever owned.  I now have a couple of them.  Once I bought one, I could not stand the feel of the other reels I owned.  Used for drop shotting and fishing tubes for smallmouth in Lake St. Clair/Erie and surrounding rivers.  Pair mine with Berkley Nanofil, and could not be happier.

From: Jesse: Waterford, MI

Comments: Smooooth i wanted to get a sustain for drop shotting but for 329.00 was a big jump from the stradic. I went for the sustain and long story short ended up taking it back and going with two stradic's instead of one sustain, now i can have a set up for drop shots and shakey heads. nothing against the sustain the two reels are just that similar is just about everything but price.

From: Louis: Green Bay

Comments: Great reel!  Very smooth and excellent drag system.  It kicks butt for inshore fishing!

From: DSF: Charleston, SC

Comments: should i buy this reel, i really want it and i dont know if i want to get it, it looks pretty good?

Comments: Awesome reel, It has performed flawlessly since I bought. I have made countless casts and retrievs and it feel like new. Also one of the comments has doesn not hace aluminum side plate. It is aluminum on one side and not the other. It is plenty strong for me and I really use this reel a lot.

From: Gave: MN

Comments: Extremely smooth reel.  Smooth bail.  Great feel in hand.  By far the best Stradic that Shimano has ever created.  Kudos!!!!

From: W4lleye: Lafayette, IN

Comments: Contrary to what was stated in the Description, it doesn't have Aluminum rotor and sideplate.

From: Alex: Asia

Comments: Unreal is all I have to play, blown away!

From: Guide: Lake Eire

Comments: Smooth & Beauty, better than Stardic FI.

From: Nelz: Malaysia

Comments: This reel has X-Ship which was most looked upon when coming out. The Sustain also has it, but the Sustain costing close to $400.00 compared to this Stradic costing almost half of the Sustain, I think this is the reel to have!
