Comments: Awesome! Shimano has set a new standard for plastic reels. BTW, the only thing "astounding" about the Stella is the price, not the weight. Been there.

Comments: Finally, a great spinning reel from this company. My Stradic's bought in the late 1990's had gears that crapped out after 2 seasons, so have not bought a Shimano again until recently (did not like the cheap cast-aluminum gears they used for many years, even on their most expensive models). These are way better. Hopefully the smoothness will last! Their new features (longer handle and new pinion gear alignment)compensate for the high gear ratio's lack of power - great reels! I have the 3000 and 4000, both fitted with 6 Lb. line and high-end St. Croix Rods. Love them!
