The outer shell is constructed from a 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric that is not only 100% waterproof but is also breathable and helps to wick moisture away from the scalp. Ear flaps can be secured by a Velcro closure for running down the lake or flipped up over cap should the temperature rise.
