Overview
The brainchild of Elite Series professional, John Crews, the Spro John Crews Little John XL Crankbait delivers a large, shallow-running presentation that is aimed at trophy bass. Built using the same soft tungsten weight transfer system as the original, the Spro John Crews Little John XL Crankbait offers three distinct advantages – increased casting distance, longer time in the strike zone, and a subtle thumping sound that drives fish crazy. Armed with two razor-sharp Gamakatsu trebles, the Spro John Crews Little John XL Crankbait provides a beefed-up profile that calls to large predators in-and-around shallow water.

Comments: Good luck if your bait is defective, like mine was. Spro Customer Service is non existent. They used to be top notch. My guess is they got a bad batch of baits from China, that is where they are made, and it was costing them too much. Mine had a defective rattle. Emailed them twice with no reply from them.

Comments: This has quickly became my go to "deeper diving" square bill. Works great when i want to just buzz the tops of some brush piles or when i find suspended fish chasing bait in deeper water. Also as with all spro baits, the paint and color selection is super.

Comments: What a sweet heart of a crankbait ! Dives fast, stays in the strike zone, and flat out catches fish. Retrieves incredible for a 3/4 ounce mid-runner. Cast farther because of weight-transfer system, and tracks true for flawless execution. Fishes awesome right out of the box ! Sharp hooks & great lure colors seal the deal. This lure shines when worked in sparse grass, large timber, and boulders. It will hang in any dense cover, but overall a superb crankbait for its' application.

Comments: This is more of an oversized John MD due to dive depth. Will dive 8 to 10 feet on 12 pound fc. Comes with super sharp (penetrates gill plates) hooks and heavy duty split rings. In stock form this thing can handle 10+ pounders. It runs exactly like other johns and suspends. Baby bass color should be used throughout the john lineup and the tropical perch is great for stained to muddy water. It's a bit of a niche lure but worth it's place in my crank box.
