St. Croix Avid Series Spinning Rods

The Avid Series Rods are constructed of SCIII graphite, an advanced high-modulus graphite that delivers maximum durability and sensitivity. These rods feature the advanced Fuji Alconite Concept Guide System. The alconite rings provide increased strength and durability with a compression strength up to 80% greater than ordinary guide rings. The concept system isn't just stronger it's lighter, too; up to 35% lighter than conventional guides. The concept guides also enhance sensitivity, casting distance and accuracy. Plus, they help to reduce line twists.

With skeletal-cork reel seats and ergonomically shaped select-grade cork handles the Avid Series Rods give you all day casting comfort. These rods have specialized technique-specific taper designs so you can select the right rod for the job. The Avid Series Rods are handcrafted in the U.S.A and backed by a limited lifetime warranty. You can't go wrong with an Avid Rod.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I have 2 Avids, a 6'6" M and 7'MH. Lets just say right away that these rods are fantastic! They're strong, sensitive, comfortable & sensitive. When fishing Texas-rigs or Carolina rigs it's like you're looking at the lure & seeing exactly what you're pulling your lure through. It's also a beautiful rod, with a simple yet elegant & classic look that will never go out of style. Both rods have more than enough backbone to handle anything I've hooked. Then there's the warranty. Limited lifetime. Meaning any craftsman errors & the fix it or replace it for basic fees. It can't be beat.

Comments: Worth every penny.

Comments:  I have 3 Avids and a 2 Premiers. The Avids are a lot lighter and a little more sensitive, but the Premier is also one of my favorites! I have landed monster fish on both and tested them many times against snags as well. Never broken one. I fish open water all winter in Michigan and these rods are great.

From: Ben: Edwardsburg, MI

Comments: It is the best rod that i own, I will soon have three of these two on a spinning reel and a Baitcasting combo. I love em. The are very reliable when reeling in the monster fish. They are very sensitive at the tip and i like that. I have brought in 22 in 8 pound largemouth, 20 in smallmouth, 36 inch Northern Pike, 28 in Walleye and a 45 in 25 pound muskie on them so i have put my trust in them.

From: Matt: Minnesota, USA

Comments: I have 3 of these paired with shimano and Pflueger reels and they really are great rods. One big thing i have to give st. croix props to is there unmatched warranty and customer service. Another big thing that is important to me that this company does, is not discontinuing old models they come out with a new model and keep the old. I fell in love with the premier even being the entry level rod i think it is better than the IPC blank on the AVID. All in all the avid is a great rod both spinning and baitcaster. Though you have to like the "power hump" design on the casting model. try this rod you will not be disappointed
