Built to meet the demands of serious anglers without breaking the bank, the St. Croix Bass X Casting Rods redefine what anglers should expect from a $100 bass rod.

  • The St. Croix Legend Tournament rods will give you every advantage you can get from your equipment. There is a reason anglers who have discovered the fine quality and American made craftsmanship of St. Croix rods are a dedicated group.

  • 2012 ICAST Winner - Best of Show Freshwater Rod Series - the St. Croix Legend Xtreme Spinning Rods are the extremely sensitive and powerful top-of-the-line rods from St. Croix loaded with all the features and technologies they have at their disposal.

  • One of St. Croix's most popular rod series year-after-year, the St. Croix Premier Series Casting Rods are handcrafted in the US to deliver a winning blend of performance and value that every angler can appreciate.

  • Anyone who throws crankbaits knows it takes the right rod to really be effective. We want medium action rods that won't tear out hooks but not a noodle rod that can't set a hook or move a big bass. Many companies are forced to use fiberglass for their cranking rods because it is very difficult to design a 100% graphite rod that has the right action and power with out collapsing under pressure and shattering with a big fish on the line.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Got the 7'10" heavy action for wiper fishing, and it works really well.  I can throw baits less than an ounce just fine, but it handles bigger stuff too.  Wish it had more of a foregrip though, even something like the Avids have would be nice, gives a lot more leverage.  Very very light weight, and very sensitive for this price.

From: Michael: Kansas 2/7/17

Comments: I own St Croix Legends and Avid X rods. Recently I bought two of the new Bass X rods, 7'2" Med Hev, moderate action specifically for fishing jerk baits. After having caught over 40 bass on them the past few days I can categorically say these  are some fine, economical and functional  new rods from St Croix.  They are comfortable to use, won't wear you out all day, and are built with St Croix quality throughout. The feel is equal to my far more expensive rods. If you are looking for an affordable, quality built rod, this series from St Croix is it. The 5 year warranty is great also. Good fishing to all of you.

From: Mike: Brandon, MS 1/18/17

Comments: This Rod runs pretty light I ordered a 7'2 med heavy and it was more of a medium than anything great rod just note the lighter action

From: Dean: GA 1/10/17

Comments: Great rod have not had any problems with it the sensitivity is good for a 100 dollar rod and the durability is good to just a great all around rod.

From: Wes Georgia: 1/9/17

Comments: I have the 7'4" heavy fast action and I use it for jigs and it's a great rod it's sensitive and got enough back bone for great hook sets but still has enough tip to pitch and flip light cover.

From: Wes: Georgia  12/1/16

Comments: Bought the 7'4 heavy. Rod is sweet. Nice reel seat, cork is as nice as my buddies avid x. Pretty stiff. It's action is stiffer than my 7'6 heavy scott martin TCS rod and the bass x is heavier (weight wise) than my scott martin. Little less in weight than my extra heavy denali 7'6

From: George: Hudson Valley, NY 12/7/16

Comments: I have only used this rod once but I was very impressed. I paired the 7' 1" medium heavy with a Daiwa Tatula CT and it skips docks great.  The rods seems well made and light as a feather, also good looking with the BASS X logo.  I will see how it holds up but so far I really like it.

From: Ruff: Missouri 12/27/16

Comments: This rod is amazing! Very light and sensitive and has a really fast tip for a medium hvy. I have the 7"1 medium heavy with a lews tournament lite. I put 20lb power pro maxcuatro on it and casts 80 yards. I reccomend this for anyone. And for 100$ it is a steal!!

From: Dan: New Jersey 12/31/16

Comments: This st croix bass X rod is easily the best $100 rod on the market. Perfectly balanced, super sensitive, and has the backbone to handle solid fish. This rod holds its own against more expensive rods. 10/10!
