Anyone who throws crankbaits knows it takes the right rod to really be effective. We want medium action rods that won't tear out hooks but not a noodle rod that can't set a hook or move a big bass. Many companies are forced to use fiberglass for their cranking rods because it is very difficult to design a 100% graphite rod that has the right action and power with out collapsing under pressure and shattering with a big fish on the line.

Comments: I bought two of these rods in 6'6" medium action in 2003. I've used both rods for top water/cranking for several seasons, and the rods have performed well. The only issue I had was with the top line guides on both rods. Both guides fractured/cracked within 6 months causing my line to fray. I had the rod tips replaced for minimal cost and since that time, both rods have worked well.

Comments: the medium rod can fish almost any bait under 1/2 oz small crankbaits jerkbaits small jigs plastics and senkos it's a little bit tip heavy and the eyes are a little cheap the inner ring chipped off very quickly but I got it replaced quickly no complaints other than that I'm looking forward to long brigt future with this beauty of a rod pick up the medium you will fall in love with the versatility of it
From: Mike: Delta, CA 3/2/15
Comments: these rods are unbelievable the medium is extremely versatile it can fish small plastics jigs and shallow to medium rip baits and rounded bill crankbaits the only problem I've found is the top eye isn't very high quality, extremely light weight for a full cork handle and the sensitivity could be improved

Comments: My first St. Croix rod was a 6'6" premier and it still preforms like the first season I had it. Since then I now own two Mojo bass rods and now, two Premiers. The premier blanks are definitely better and lighter which is why I picked a 7' medium fast action rod for jig fishing instead of the Mojo Pitchin' The mojo casting rods tend to be tip heavy. I recommend the premiers for anybody on a budget like me.

Comments: Initially I bought medium rod for jig fishing and matched it with a revo sx with 10 lb pline cxx and it performed great along with jigs I found it works extremely well for jerkbaits, senkos, topwaters & other medium weight plastics I've already landed a 15 pound catfish while fishing a jig great rod thinking about getting the medium heavy or heavy for heavy plastics
From: Ryan: CA 2/8/15
Comments: I've never bought anything from St. Croix before, but so far I'm quite pleased. If you're looking for a rod with a little more bend but plenty of backbone, these rods are it. I bought the 7' MH fast action. A tad heavier than some higher end rods, but it really feels great in my hands and loads up nicely. I have to say St. Croix just found a loyal customer. I feel like my search for THE rod might be over.

Comments: The 7' medium Premier is a great rod! I fish with a good deal of high end rods, but this rod at $120 is great. Works very well for shallow crankbaits, small swimbaits, and rattle baits, and I'm sure many others as well. Great tip and action. You'll love it.

Comments: I bought a Primieer in 2009 and got it for an all around rod- one I could use for anything from senkos, topwaters, C-Rigs, T-Rigs, Jigs, spinnerbait and it has been one of the best purchases I have ever made with all of the rods I own. I have even thrown frogs on the sub-seven footer!! I have been brutal on the treatment of this rod and it never chipped, cracked or anything. I am rough on my gear and I fish at least 4 days a week. I always have my St Croix with me and it has hauled in fish from El Salto in Mexico to the James River in VA. This thing pitches into tight places like under docks like a dream and puts your jig on the tightest targets. The only problem I have, is I only bought one of them.
