St. Croix Rage Micro Guide Spinning Rods - $150.00
St. Croix undertook a radically different strategy when they set out to create the St. Croix Rage Spinning Rods. They wanted to give anglers a micro-guided rod that would yield dart-like precision casts, but they also felt like they needed to innovate upon existing handle designs. The result is something that is truly special in the rod world. The high-tech contoured handle conforms magically to the angler’s hand. Featuring a precision-machined core that’s actually wrapped with a special neoprene skin, this extraordinary semi-soft handle cover delivers comfort and sensitivity that is unmatched in the industry. It’s a new, yet immediately familiar feel, and it actually grips back, even when soaking wet.
Elite Pac Bay Minima reel seats also deliver maximum blank exposure with a weight savings of 10-30% over conventional reel seats, and Pac Bay Minima stainless-steel ring micro guides yield a 20- to 30-percent weight reduction over ceramic guides. They won’t crack, break or groove even with the notoriously abrasive braided lines, and St. Croix also downsized the stripper guide to better allow line to streak through the guides like greased lightning. Built on mega-responsive, high-modulus SCIII graphite blanks with Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling technology, the St. Croix Rage Spinning Rods deliver superior performance, comfort and that all-important St. Croix intangible that can only be measured by hours on the water and deep pulsing arcs from heavy fish.

Comments: Great sensitivity but I now have 3 rage 6'8" med x fast spinning rods and all 3 of the tips have broken off! St. croix has been great on warranty but it really sucks when you are reeling in a 4 pounder during a tournament and your rod breaks. The last broken rod St. Croix customer service waived the return fee and upgraded me to an Avid.

Comments: I recently purchased on their Pan fish series rods and mated to a Shimano Stradic 1000, or Quantam Smoke 15 series is unbeatable for light tackle. What sold me is their new longer guides near the seat followed with micro guides towards the tip. It is VERY easy to cast and to cast with accuracy.

Comments: Great rod!!!! super sensitive...but treat with care. had a medium light it seemed lighter than i would have liked I ended up breaking the tip and used the warranty to get a medium rod which felt like a medium light...I personally want to get at least one more

Comments: I have the 6'8" XF version, and I really like it as my topwater rod for poppers, jitterbugs, and walking the dog. Paired with power pro 15# and a Stradic 3000, it casts long and accurately, sensitivity to know my lures are running right, and the juice to get the hook into the fish and the fish into the boat. The metal micro-guides work well with the braid, if you don't mind the noise (like Recoil guides), but I don't know if thicker mono or fluoro would cast as well.

Comments: Love the rod, have it paired with a Stradic and 8 lb Nonofil and it casts smooth as silk. Hate that I've had two rod tips break so far (1st one top 3 guides, second one top 2). St. Croix service has been great however and waived return shipping on the second break.

Comments: The rod has great feel and action, but has one major flaw, at least in the spinning model. The grip is much to small for for a mans hand. It would better fit a womans hand. It is very uncomfortable to fish with.

Comments: I love the feel of these rods. I have 2 and have paired them with a Stradic CI4 and a Sustain. The feel is great and the grip is extremely comfortable. The smaller guides make these rods more sensative and smoother casting.
