TFO Gary Loomis Tactical Swimbait Casting Rods

The TFO Gary Loomis Tactical Swimbait Casting Rod feature the ideal lenght, taper and power for fishing swimbaits. By utilizing a new proprietary scrim in conjunction with Temple Fork Outfitter’s high modulus carbon fiber blank material, legendary rod designer, Gary Loomis, was able to reduce the weight and the increase sensitivity of the rod - all without sacrificing strength. The blanks are also tastefully finished and simply polished with a thin layer of matte clear coat to enhance the natural luster of the fibers. Proprietary Tactical Series Guides with stainless steel inserts and frames also offer advanced, super slick, saltwater safe performance, and are 30% lighter than standard SiC guides. Delivering the features and performance you need for fishing swimbaits, the TFO Gary Loomis Tactical Swimbait Casting Rods also feature TFO’s trademark color ID split grip handle for easy identification at a glance, and each rod is further complimented by a two piece reel seat and a natural cork ring split grip.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Awesome rod!  I've used mine for every bait possible and its perfect.  very lightweight.  I could use about 3 more...  I've used it for big jigs, big cranks and jumbo spinnerbaits... I prefer the old style handle, shorter butt section makes for easier casting. I have a hard time putting it down.  This fall, I will be using this for muskies and walleyes... Big swimbaits on leadheads...

Comments: As mentioned above I wish the but end was a few inches longer. On that note I really like it the way it is for pitching into cover. I've caught a pile of bass on it this year and it has performed great. I'd like to have a couple more.

Comments: This rod's short but end makes it great for working Punkers and Triple Trout.

From: Chris: San Diego

Comments: I've used this rod for almost a year.

Cons:  hook keeper is garbage, unbalanced with a Revo Toro... the biggest problem is the butt section of this rod is way tooo short for my tastes as it will not tuck under my arm.  When setting the hook on a fish over 5lbs on a long cast with a Huddleston you will wish you had some extra length in the back 9.

Pros:  Built like a tank (minus the hook keeper), very sensitive and well constructed.
