The Zillion sounds like it could take on a few fish and then some. Daiwa designed the Zillion for speed and power. The Zillion high speed models pull in a blazing 31.6 inches of line per crank, yet still retain the power to get fish to the boat. The Zillion reels are extremely compact with a low profile design. Daiwa has added some new features never before seen in their lineup of baitcasters, including swept handle design and locking removable sideplates. With brute strength and speed, the Zillion still weighs only 8.6 ounces, making it one of the lightest high speed reels on the market.

Comments: It has been 6 months since I purchased the 6.3 and the 7.1 models. I was suprised of how small these reels are. You can palm them very easily (unless you have baby hands). Reels and casts very smooth. Even though the drag is rated at 8lbs. it still pulls in the big girls. Hooked a 15lb. Striper and the drag never skipped when he tried to go down into the submerged trees. Fantasic reel. You get what you pay for.

Comments: Most of us that actually use these reels don't write about them...we actually fish...we don't talk about fish or the one that got away...
I have fished everything on the market and based on experience I will use the best money can buy...whether it be any of the brands...fact, don't buy entry level Daiwa, fact there is no better than top end Daiwa, untill a fellow competitor can out perform it...I don't care who makes it as long as it makes me better at what I do...Shimano great workhorse reels and can't fault them, Quantum quickly loses it's feel and at times not to reliable with petty issues but still a great product at a great price...Abu is also a winner and very good for your buck...dependable reel that won't leave you stranded...ever...buy the best "you can afford"

Comments: I can honestly say that this is my favorite reel I own. This reel was the first reel that i spend over 100 dollars on, that was back when I was 15, I am not twenty and I used the crap out of this reel. I fished from the bank every chance I got. I would bring it in the rain, on my bike, riding through mud, and the only thing that went wrong with this reel in the 5 years i have owned it, is the pinion gear was shot, from casting so much. This reel weights in at 8.6 ounce. That is a medium weight, heavy compared to what ABU is coming out with, but this reel just balances out on the large majority of my rods. Under six ounces is much to light, unless you have a 6'6" super light rod. From my experiences with the ABU Garcia MGX, Premier Gen. 3, Daiwa Steez, Daiwa PX Type-R, Quantum EXO, Quantum Energy, and Quantum Tour my Zillion is more comfortable and much better at balancing out my rods. I have it on a 7'1" Shimano Cumulus, which was and still is their highest dollar rod, super light, but top heavy. I had the MGX but the balance was terrible. The Zillion is perfect on it, the same goes with my 7'1" St.Croix Legend Tournament, even on my G-Loomis GLX 6'6" the old model! Get one and i promise this reel will blow you away.

Comments: This reel really does set a example of what a baitcaster should be, the smoothness on this real is absolutely un-paralleled, the way this real casts is stunning, and also the way you can tune this reel to your own personal play style makes this my number reel I would own for the rest of my life if i had to pick one, Daiwas innovation really has been impressing lately and this real is no exception.

Comments: Great customer service! called because i was missing one side plate screw...and they are giving me an assortment of screws for free from DAIWA!! i cant be more happier with Daiwa and there customer service/loyalties. Ive own 5 of these reels from the day they made these models..and i love them!

Comments: These reels are great!! I tried the smoke, premier cannot compare,Zillion is the best !!I do not know why more pros don't use these. I had one for 4 years now still feels like new!Rock
From: Bill: PA
Comments: Got 4 of these and love them. All of mine are used for moving baits squarebill, trap, spinnerbait, etc. and they are the best moving bait reel made. I guess its cause the 7.3 ratio on the 50th anniv. reels but they are wonderfull for gettin fish in fast. Wonderful reels.
From: Will: AL
Comments: I,ve been pounding on this reel on my frogging rod for 3 years and have yet to have any sort of problem with it. It casts a mile and can take all the abuse I've given it. Anyone who says that it broke or had trouble has either user error or a fluke thing. Well worth the money, don't hesitate to buy this reel!
From: Will: Waltham, MA
Comments: Had 3 of these. Sold them on eBay and bought chronarchs.they were great until half way through the season.now every reel I own is a shimano except one quantum.
From: Travis: IL
Comments: The best all around casting real I have. I have owned a couple curados, chronarch, and a caenan but I think the zillion is just easier to cast 1/8 to 1 1/2 lures because of the magforce z braking system. I have 2 100HA, one paired with a 7'0 mh zillion rod for spinner bait and 1/2 oz jigs and the other is paired with a Megabass F6-69X super destroyer casting rod for throwing vision 110 and pointer sp also a hyper limited 7.3:1 paired with a Megabass F6-72X4. If I have any money left i'll get a zillion 7.3:1 Type R, that is how much I love these reels. I have some steez lineups also including a 103HA paired with a 7'0 med Fle-X-lite for crankbait and topwater but my zillion will always be my workhorse for almost everything else. I'm planning to get the carbontex smooth dragwashers and boca orange seals bearings to complete my zillions this year. My favorite reels from now on and i'm happy I switch from curados. Daiwa and the Zillion FTW!

Comments: This is my favorite reel that I own. Feels a lot like a revo in your hand but sits better in your palm in my opinion. Weight is not an issue to me. All these guys going to super light reels aren't realizing that the super light weight of the reel doesn't balance out well with their rods, especially longer rods. A good 8-9 oz. reel balances out a lot better, and this one is the deal. Looks great, feels great, comes in every gear ratio, has a smooth retrieve, and the swept handle is great. Two thumbs up.
Comments: These are fine reels.I have the 7-1 model and cant say enough good things about it.
Comments: I got one of these after having a couple of Curados and all I can say is wow. This reel is so smooth it feels weird for a while. Great caster as well. I will be switching over to all Daiwa reels.
Comments: I can't resist leaving feedback again since I picked up the 3rd gear ratio. Because I liked the other 2 reels I have, I picked up the 7.1:1 midsummer and it is as good as the other 2. So far I have cast 1/8 oz through 1 ½ oz lures no problem and no back lashing. I pulled in some nice fish with them and it doesn't bind up at all ‹ very smooth. I don't think I will stray from the Zillion anytime soon.

Comments: Very nice reels, I plan on buying a few more. I Highly recommend you give them a try.
From: Brent: Vermont, USA
Comments:I have 2 of these reels a 4.9 : 1 paired with a W&M 7'0 Crankbait Rod and a 6.3 :1 paired with a Daiwa Zillion 7'6 Flip Rod. I love both of them, they cast light lures very far without a problem (even lighter than the suggested range on the rod). I set them in the house before I hit the water and haven't had any backlashes even with the real light lures. They are smooth and extremely consistent. I have pulled a couple of big aggressive Smallmouths in with them and they don't lock up or bind and they stayed smooth. They are small and feel great when palmed in your hand. I've always been a Daiwa fan but these take the cake.

Comments:I have been fishing Daiwa reels for ten years now, both spinning and casting. I never had any problems at all with any of my equipment. I own three Zillon baitcasters, just bought my forth Zillion the Crazy Cranker for crankbait fishing.
From:Vinnie: Ramsey, NJ
Comments:The handles are perfect and this is one awesome reel, excellent for topwater baits and very solid build.
From:Steve: Chicago, IL
Comments:I am impressed once again with the smooth flawless performance of my TDZ100HA! It works well spooled with Seaguar fluorocarbon matched up with a 7'3" carrot stick! I use mine to pitch baby brush hogs at them big ole mossyjaws! Then I yank em out of the wood & weeds!
From:Michael: Ripley, TN
Comments:CI was not impressed with the zillion. After one season it was broke. I'm going to stick with Shimano.
