Team Daiwa Zillion Casting Reels - $319.99

The Zillion sounds like it could take on a few fish and then some. Daiwa designed the Zillion for speed and power. The Zillion high speed models pull in a blazing 31.6 inches of line per crank, yet still retain the power to get fish to the boat. The Zillion reels are extremely compact with a low profile design. Daiwa has added some new features never before seen in their lineup of baitcasters, including swept handle design and locking removable sideplates. With brute strength and speed, the Zillion still weighs only 8.6 ounces, making it one of the lightest high speed reels on the market.

Team Daiwa Zillion Features:

  • Six ball bearings (including CRBB) plus roller bearing
  • Swept handle for less wobble, better feel and maximum winding leverage
  • Free-Floating perforated aluminum spool starts faster, spins longer.
  • Fast spool change
  • Magforce-Z automatic anti-backlash system
  • Eight-disc wet drag with precision click adjustment
  • Aluminum guard plate protects finish on top of reel
  • Rigid aluminum frame and handle-side sideplate firmly support the drive train
  • Soft Touch grips

Comments: Had 3 of these. Sold them on eBay and bought chronarchs.they were great until half way through the season.now every reel I own is a shimano except one quantum.

From: Travis: IL

Comments: The best all around casting real I have. I have owned a couple curados, chronarch, and a caenan but I think the zillion is just easier to cast 1/8 to 1 1/2 lures because of the magforce z braking system. I have 2 100HA, one paired with a 7'0 mh zillion rod for spinner bait and 1/2 oz  jigs and the other is paired with a Megabass F6-69X super destroyer casting rod for throwing vision 110 and pointer sp also a hyper limited 7.3:1 paired with a Megabass F6-72X4. If I have any money left i'll get a zillion 7.3:1 Type R, that is how much I love these reels. I have some steez lineups also including a 103HA paired with a 7'0 med Fle-X-lite for crankbait and topwater but my zillion will always be my workhorse for almost everything else. I'm planning to get the carbontex smooth dragwashers and boca orange seals bearings to complete my zillions this year. My favorite reels from now on and i'm happy I switch from curados. Daiwa and the Zillion FTW!

Comments: This is my favorite reel that I own.  Feels a lot like a revo in your hand but sits better in your palm in my opinion.  Weight is not an issue to me.  All these guys going to super light reels aren't realizing that the super light weight of the reel doesn't balance out well with their rods, especially longer rods.  A good 8-9 oz. reel balances out a lot better, and this one is the deal.  Looks great, feels great, comes in every gear ratio, has a smooth retrieve, and the swept handle is great.  Two thumbs up.

Comments: These are fine reels.I have the 7-1 model and cant say enough good things about it.

Comments: I got one of these after having a couple of Curados and all I can say is wow. This reel is so smooth it feels weird for a while. Great caster as well. I will be switching over to all Daiwa reels.

Comments:  I can't resist leaving feedback again since I picked up the 3rd gear ratio. Because I liked the other 2 reels I have, I picked up the 7.1:1 midsummer and it is as good as the other 2. So far I have cast 1/8 oz through 1 ½ oz lures no problem and no back lashing.  I pulled in some nice fish with them and it doesn't bind up at all ‹ very smooth. I don't think I will stray from the Zillion anytime soon.

Comments:  Very nice reels, I plan on buying a few more. I Highly recommend you give them a try.

Comments:I have 2 of these reels a 4.9 : 1 paired with a W&M 7'0 Crankbait Rod and a 6.3 :1 paired with a Daiwa Zillion 7'6 Flip Rod. I love both of them, they cast light lures very far without a problem (even lighter than the suggested range on the rod). I set them in the house before I hit the water and haven't had any backlashes even with the real light lures. They are smooth and extremely consistent. I have pulled a couple of big aggressive Smallmouths in with them and they don't lock up or bind and they stayed smooth. They are small and feel great when palmed in your hand. I've always been a Daiwa fan but these take the cake.

Comments:I have been fishing Daiwa reels for ten years now, both spinning and casting. I never had any problems at all with any of my equipment. I own three Zillon baitcasters, just bought my forth Zillion the Crazy Cranker for crankbait fishing.

From:Vinnie: Ramsey, NJ

Comments:The handles are perfect and this is one awesome reel, excellent for topwater baits and very solid build.

From:Steve: Chicago, IL

Comments:I am impressed once again with the smooth flawless performance of my TDZ100HA! It works well spooled with Seaguar fluorocarbon matched up with a 7'3" carrot stick! I use mine to pitch baby brush hogs at them big ole mossyjaws! Then I yank em out of the wood & weeds!

From:Michael: Ripley, TN

Comments:CI was not impressed with the zillion. After one season it was broke. I'm going to stick with Shimano.
