Overview

Designed to improve both bait and fish retention, the new Trapper Tackle Standard Offset Wide Gap Hooks allow you to make more casts and land more fish thanks to their patented Trapper Box design. Designed to work with most baits on the market, the Trapper Box design locks your bait in its proper position so you need to re-rig less and can spend more time making perfect presentations. The patented design also makes it more difficult for fish to throw the hook, and sticky sharp Piercing Points help deliver rock solid hooksets. Ideal for Texas-rigs, Carolina-rigs, Weedless dropshots, and more, re-rig less and catch more fish with the Trapper Tackle Standard Offset Wide Gap Hooks.

Winner!!Finally tried the Trapper today. Landed 9 of the 10 fish that I hooked, including a 6-0 and 6-4. Those fish were PINNED. The Trapper can be a bit difficult to remove, a previous review mentions that it can “double hook” a fish, but that’s a good problem compared to a lost fish!!

Comments: These things work fantastic with a with the standard 6' straight tail Roboworm . They keep the worm from getting ripped up far better than the recommended Gamakatsu Roboworm hooks. At the closeout price, this is a no brainer. Hope there are some still around for my next order.

Comments: Been using these hooks for years, and they work. Sometimes they will double hook the fish lip make it almost impossible to shake free (making it hard at times to get the hook out). I use them for many applications and they work great, that I stocked up for two life times. I use standard size 4/0 for frog (don't need to set the hook as hard, it sets itself) , 3/0 or 4/0 XXX-heavy hook for flipping/pitching. Great hooks stock up.

Comments: These hooks PIN fish. Once you get them hooked they aren't going anywhere. I was skeptical because they look funny and there isn't that much of a gap once you have a plastic rigged. All skepticism was silenced. These hooks are the business. Buy these hooks while you can!

From: NoFroFishing: FL 3/10/23

Comments: Took a chance on these hooks and I'm really glad I did. Crazy sharp and perfect for Texas rigs. I've hooked much fish with these and got them all in the boat. Get them while you can.

From: Scooter: Morehead, KY 1/23/23

Comments: These hooks are no joke. They really hold. The dropshot/wacky hooks are the best I've ever used.

From: Joseph: College Station, TX 1/11/22

Comments: I really like the 1/0 hook for dropshotting roboworms or other longer dropshot worms in cover. These have a lighter hook and small barb which is perfect for finesse fishing. I would recommend these for dropshotting in cover for anyone.

From: Gavin: Bellevue, WA 5/18/21

Comments: These hooks sure look cool, and the setup on a Texas rig is perfect. However, don't waste your money. First time out, I lost five fish. Second time out, three more. I promptly changed hooks and landed every fish the rest of the day. The remaining hooks went straight into the recycling bin.

From: Raoul: Austin, TX 5/29/20

Comments: I had so many questions going into this hook. I specifically made the purchase from reading reviews alone. Even when I got them I was still at little hesitate to use one. These things are awesome I get it now. It holds my senko/creature.fluke, perfectly. So much so that I don't even have to skin hook it. There is a much larger percentage of lip hooking the fish. The fish isn't coming off when hooked. Haven't found a negative about these hooks yet. In closing I've only been fishing for 9 months. So take that for what it's worth. Regardless, you should definitely buy the hype. There's a reason you don't see a single negative review. Although, I promise it's coming. There's always that person who can never be satisfied.

From: Rico: Orlando, FL 1/18/20

Comments: Love these hooks!!! They allow the bait to stay completely straight and are very durable. Easy hookups and keeps them pinned. I will never go back to any other hook when it comes to soft plastics.

From: Colin: Oregon 4/25/19

Comments: These hooks are the bomb.....bait stays up on the hook....and fish stay pinned what else do you need.

From: Nate: Atoka 11/1/18

Comments: Those that had hooks breaking I think it may have been a fluke or something in that batch, I have never had one break... two seasons ago, I lost 5 fish in one season, the most I had ever lost. those 5 fish would have moved me into the top 10 for the year. Fishing finesse mostly, I figured I needed to change something in my setup. the obvious is the hooks. I researched and tried Trapper Tackle hooks and MAN! I am super impressed! granted I have not used them for a whole season yet, but so far I have lost Zero fish I have Set into the trapper tackle hooks!

From: Don: Ohio 1/29/18

Comments: I am not s person that uses standard wire hooks. I thought I would try these to see what all the fuss is about. Man they are super sharp and once's hooked they stay hooked. Try them you won't be sorry.

From: John: Sallisaw, OK 12/30/17

Comments: I use these hooks exclusively various sizes and weights. Wouldn't use nothing else, great hook up rate and really locks the fish on.

From: Unknown - 12/30/17

Comments: I bought the 3/0 hooks from trapper and used them on my zoom flukes and the design of the hooks is perfect with the flukes! It is much better than a standard ewg hook! The weird shape of it holds the fluke on perfectly and I didnâ•ÂË™t have to adjust it all day on the hook position. I would recommend these for any kind of soft plastic and Texas rigging.

From: Unknown - Winters, CA

Comments: I bought some 3/0 & 4/0 hooks and started using them on all my setups I could.  My hook-up ratio has drastically increased & I won my first tournament ever this year!  I'm sold!  Working on other applications to use these hooks more often!  Your missing out if you aren't using these game changing hooks......

From: Dave: OH 8/18/17

Comments: One of the worst hooks I have ever used.  They consistently break at the first 90 degree bend.  Doesn't matter the size of the fish.  I thought the concept was interesting and was really hoping these would be great, but they didn't live up to expectations.

From: Ryan - 7/24/17

Comments: I've used the 2/0 hook with a Z-Man pop frog, a 4/0 hook with a 7 inch Hawgly worm, and  a 5/0 hook with a Zoom magnum finesse worm, and they all work great.  Use the right size hook for your bait and the bait will not come off, and neither will the fish.  You can even give the fish slack, and he is not going to throw that bait.  since I started using the trapper hooks, I haven't thrown away all my Gamakatsu hooks, but I haven't used them either.

From: Charlie: West Springfield Ma 7/5/17

Comments: Picked up a pack at tackle warehouse and the first fish that hit , i landed.  Then i got snagged on a tule and using 6lb fluro , i gave it a couple tugs.  and the hook straigtened out.  I am talking minimal effort.  Maybe i need to try the xxx heavy ones

From: Greg: FL USA 6/5/17

Comments: Picked up a pack for fishing texas rigged, weightless stickbaits.  so far 100% hookup to boat ratio. great product for sure.

From: Greg: Atascadero 5/24/17

Comments: I have been fishing the prototype for a few years and never lost a fish. It was the only hook I would rig my soft plastics on. I fish these hooks and I have not had a fish throw the hook when they do that magical head shake dance. The trap on the hook does what is designed to do and that is to trap the fish preventing it from throwing the hook. I have not had any issues rigging up any soft plastic baits with the different hooks. The trap of the hook lets your bait rest in the trap with the hook point laying on the plastic.I would highly suggest buying these.

From: Ed: Mt. Vernon, Montana 2/8/17

Comments: I was able to get my hands on a few trapper hooks to use on a trip to Lake Powell. I loved the way they held plastic baits in place. They worked awesome for that alone. I was able to catch a lot more fish without losing the lure or having to re-rig another bait.  I was very surprised and happy with the way the hooks performed on hook sets, they really hooked up solidly and I noticed that fish were not throwing the hook as often. I am "Hooked" pun intended and plan on using Trapper Hooks a lot  more in the future !!!

From: John: Draper Utah 1/5/17

Comments: i have had the awesome experience of getting to use the prototypes before these hooks were available to the public. these hooks are definitely a game changer. i highly recommend these hooks due to their hook up ratio over round bend hooks. once you start using this design you wont use any other hook.
