VMC Fastgrip Wide Gap Worm Hook - $2.48
Comments: I fish this hook. If you are worried about a non-welded eye add a dab of crazy glue, however, I do not have to do it with these hooks, the eye is usually pinched off well. I have had a few packs of these and the point is always sharp. The point does not roll on me. The hook has never opened up. Thanks to the shape and point when I hook a fish, I land that fish. I have a lot of confidence in this hook. Price is great, I've had more problems with other more expensive hooks.

Comments: Great hook. I have had no problems with these hooks and have had no inconsistencies in the craftmanship. Super sharp and stay sharp. I have had no problems with knot slippage.

Comments: i agree with the first guy. these hooks are junk. none of them look the same. there is no consistency in the design of the hooks other than the points and barbs. if there was, then there would be a reason why they were designed that way. and the thing with the knots slipping out, same thing happened to me. i like VMC but they failed on this one.
Comments: This hook I use for Three year. Fish for pike perch and bass and never have problems. This hook can be better than other brands form the muzzle. The price is very good.

Comments: i agree with paul, the first guy to comment doesnt know how to tie a good knot... the hooks work excellent for me and at the price i will continue to buy them, the first guy must not know anything about hooks because the were built a certain way intentionally and he thought they werent supposed to be like that.

Comments: These hooks are fine, the other guy doesn't know how to tie a palomar knot for braided line.

Comments:These hooks are garbage!!!!! from a company that supposedly makes great trebles, they failed in making work hooks. I originally use gamakatsu hooks exclusively - until my tackle bag was stolen. I decided to purchase some of these hooks. I use VMC trebles on all of my cranks and swimbaits - no complaints about those. I purchased 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 hooks. first look at them and I was sort of disappointed already. The hooks appeared to be bent side ways in different spots along the shank. also, there seemed to be some material that was removed from the shank(shaved away). This appeared on all of the hooks - in different locations.
Before I go any further, the casting setup I was using consists of a core mg50 paired with a lengendary creations custom rod - 6"6. the drag was set correctly. I took them out yesterday morning and tied on a 5/0 hook rigged with a fluke. first cast to a bluegill nest and a monster bass inhaled it. Set the hook and it was solid. Fought the fish for about 30 seconds and my line flew back at me. The line did NOT break, the line slipped out of the eye - 30lb powerpro. I was so pissed off. I sucked it up and decided to tied another one thinking that that was one bad hook - I was wrong. Tied on a 4/0 hook and made sure that the hook eye was closed. I rigged it with a plastic craw along with a tungsten worm weight. Pitched it out to another 'gill nest and a 5lb bass inhaled it. Set the hook and bought the bass right up to about 5 ft in front of me and the line flew out at me again. Same thing happened, I lost not just a junky hook but a $2 tungsten worm weight and a 5lb bass as well. I will be contacting VMC about these hooks. I would highly recommend you using gamas instead of the crap that VMC throws out...
