The "hottest fishing tool on the bass market today" - the Waterdog Outdoors Retriever Rig is handcrafted in the USA using premium American-made components. The Retriever Rig’s head is hand painted and completely Lead-Free. Each rig utilizes a .051 stainless wire, offering durability while maintaining it’s spread shape.  Often referred to as an umbrella-rig, the Retreiver Rig is designed to resemble a school of baitfish. It can be cast and retrieved at a steady pace or allowed to fall through suspended schools of fish. Very versatile as well, it can be rigged with a wide variety of lures, including soft plastic swimbaits, grubs, jig heads and small spinnerbaits.

Its design allows you to spread out the wire arms into various positions. Leaving the slightly longer wire in the middle and spreading the rest of the wire an equal distance apart is its most common configuration, but your imagination is the only limitation for the variety of techniques and lure presentations you can use. It can even be rigged with your favorite lures for bottom fishing, such as Texas-rigged worms, creature baits and jigs.

Professional bass angler, Paul Elias used an umbrella-rig to run away with the win at the October 2011 Lake Guntersville FLW Tour Open. (The entire top-5 actually used umbrella-rig as well). Dan Morehead also used the umbrella-rig to win at the Kentucky Lake Everstart Championship, as did Scott Brummett at the Walmart BFL Wheeler Lake Regional.

Don't forget to check with your State's laws regarding the legal use of this product, since it is designed to fish up to five baits at a time.

Comments: Update to previous review.  I ordered a couple more of the "White" Retriever rigs and I was quite surprised to find a difference between the one I received and the ones I already owned.  The whole rig was about inch shorter than the previous orders and all of the swivel snaps were laying loose in the packaging.  I had to take some heavy duty pliers to bend the metal to attach them to the rig.  Over all the components still look good I was just disappointed at how different my second batch was compared to the first.

Comments: I bought this one along with the Yumbrella and the Luck-E-Strike brand A-rig.  This one is definitely the largest of the three and has the heaviest components.  If you ask me an Umbrella rig is an umbrella rig, but this one will definately hold up to repeated outings.  Best part about it is the white head model  is only 13 bucks, thats a steal!

Comments: This has been by far my favorite rig.  I have caught over 80 fish on the same exact rig and this includes 15-30 pound stripers as well as up to 8 pound Largemouth.  The wire is a higher gauge and the snaps and swivels are top shelf!  By far the best on the market!

Comments: I have been using the Retriever Rig for a couple of months now and I think it is one of the most durable rigs on the market to date. The terminal tackle they use is stronger and no failure rate so far. The bigger body up front acts as another bait in the school. Fantasic bait keep it up!!
