Designed with the help of Bassmaster Elite Series standout, Skeet Reese, the Wright & McGill Skeet Micro Honeycomb Umbrella Rig Rod is loaded with all of the high performance characteristics of the W&M Honeycomb Rod Series, combined with the technique specific features necessary for fishing umbrella rigs. Measuring in at 7’5” - it has the length necessary to launch umbrella rigs long distances. The action is also dialed into allow you to cast with accuracy around various obstacles, while also providing the moderate bend necessary to provide strong hook sets and keep the fish pinned during the fight.
Extremely lightweight and incredibly sensitive, each rod blank is created through the combination of three separate layers of high-modulus graphite wrapped around a high-density graphite core, reinforced by woven fibers, and then bound together by W&M’s new, industry leading, micro honeycomb resin. Premium guides further compliment the blank’s characteristics, while also providing long lasting durability. Comments: Fished this rod with 5 1/2 oz swimbait heads on a few trips. Very comfortable to throw, weighted nicely, nice long split grip butt end to help heave these massive rigs. Bought a couple more Wright and McGill rods after being quite happy with this one.
