Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait - $7.99
The Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait has undergone hundreds of hours of research and development to outperform any crankbait in its class when it comes to moving through heavy cover. Whether you’re fishing shallow grass, heavy brush or riprap banks, the compact body of the Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait has the brawn to move through and around obstructions without losing its effectiveness. Also delivering an unbelievably bright flash, the Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait features a unique 3D holographic foiling that reflects light at multiple angles. Additionally, the Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait is also equipped with an internal rattle chamber that produces a distinct sound for maximum tonal agitation. Armed with Mustad Triple Grip Treble Hooks as well, the Yamamoto Chikara Crankbait has the power to get the job done when other crankbaits flounder.
Chikara – Japanese for "Power"
Comments: I it bought one of these just because they looked cool and i had used yamamoto plastics before. Over the look is pretty good and has a nice reflection of light in the water. I have used this bait a lot and it has out fished all of my storm arashi's the kvd 1.5 and 2.5. Although it isnt very durable the hooks are great and it catches a lot of bass

Comments: this little guy is responsible for hundreds of hook sets on some quality smallmouth bass namely the chartreuse and black. It casts extremely smooth and the hooks are great. A few of them needed tuned out of the pack and I haven't tried them on large mouth. Great colers for aggressive fish.

Comments: I picked one of the square bill model because it looked interesting. I went to my local pond and was fishing a jig and only one hit so I tied this crankbait on and still didn't get anything for awhile until I hit against a small dock and caught a 2lber only time will tell if it will be good

Comments: I bought these because of the Yamamoto line of baits, and I must say........ I'm disappointed. Poor action, and cheesy colors. Hooks are about the only thing good on this crank. My advise, skip it.

Comments: Decent bait, great design but average movement. Not on same level as other cranks out there but decent. KVD better IMO

Comments: I tried throwing this bait several times. I have tried to tune it to run correctly until I was blue in the face. NOT happy with these Crankbaits at all really expected more from a Gary Yamamoto bait.

Comments: I took this bait, size 100 in Sexy Shad, out of the box for the first time before I tied it on to my line. The first cast, I thought this bait was decent. It ran pretty true, had nice action, has a nice color, but the second cast proved me wrong. The second cast I came over some rip rap at a slow retrieve and to my surprise.....the friggin bill snapped right below the line tie. That is terrible quality there. I have used all sorts of cheap square bills in my time that are much stronger than this bait. I put in an email to Yamamoto Customer Service, but have not yet received a response. Hopefully this thing has some type of warranty. At $8.00 a pop, it should be much stronger than only getting two casts out of the bait. I do NOT recommend this bait. I'd rather be throwing something that can take some punishment. This bait cannot withstand one rock. Very disappointing.

Comments: I'm sorry these things have the Yamamoto name on them. Tried a few of their these in different colors. Nice hooks, nice colors, GREAT wobble, but even one small piece of brush or grass and this thing becomes a barrel rolling rock. Useless. Maybe they are ok in clear water with no cover whatsoever. Not for what I was using them for though. More times than not you will stop feeling the wobble and this thing just barrel rolls and starts to wake for a second. Weird. Needs more testing.

Comments: Just scooped one and threw it yesterday. When it got close to the boat it would do a weird roll. I cut it off and threw it in the bottom of the boat. I only threw it for 4-5 casts so more testing is needed but not good so far.

Comments: These baits look like they have cataracts. Yamamoto hardbaits aren't in the same ballpark as DUO. They aren't even playing the same sport.
From: Johnny: Baytown, TX
Comments: Gary Yamamoto has a new line of cranks, jerkbaits and a popper which rivals the finish on the Duo at only $7.99. I got the 300 crank (6-8ft) in chart. black. It has excellent hooks; bill could be tougher. Mine has been bouncing among shallow rocks and has some scuff marks, but no cracks. The 3D holographic foiling reminds me of the Yo-Zuri. Started using it late last fall; no takers yet.

Comments: very good crankbait. Glad to see some quality hard baits from one of the best fishing companies. Has a very good rattle and goes through cover nicely. There are fantastic colors to choose from. Only complaint is that it is a little fragile. Overall great crank for the money.
