Overview

When FLW Tour pro, 2006 Bassmaster champ & 2004 Forrest Wood Cup champ, Luke Clausen, approached Z Man with a new bait design, they listened. The result was the Z Man FattyZ. Ideal for power-finesse situations and equipped with a molded-in slot for easy hook penetration, it’s perfect when paired with the Z Man Shaky Headz. Incredibly unique and lifelike, the Z Man FattyZ is also salt impregnated, and thanks to ElaZtech - extremely durable.

What separates Elaztech plastics from other soft plastics is their life-like action, natural buoyancy and unmatched durability. Elaztech baits not only look great, they are also up to 10X tougher than other plastics. They resist nicks, cuts and tears, and that means you're likely to catch a lot more fish on Elaztech before having to replace them.

Do not mix Elaztech baits with standard plastic baits.

Comments: Rig these on a 3/0 EWG hook, small 1/16 nail weight inserted, and fish them like a fluke. Largemouth love them. I've even caught some nice fish off beds with them. California Craw is my primary, green pumpkin, then Junebug !

From: TYLER: Missouri 5/1/23

Comments: For me this worm is pretty much perfect. It's got the right bulk and great colors. It's got the right amount of salt too! My favorite two ways to fish it are a Texas rig and a shaky head.

Comments: Z-Man plastics offer great possibilities. For those having difficulties inserting a screw lock hook into Z-man plastics, Google: Secret to rigging Z-Man lures on Owner twistlock hooks. All the best.

Comments: These have become my new favorite finesse worm; they stand up really nice on any kind of jighead, and don't need to be specifically on a shroom head. I rig them weedless texas on a Big Bite Baits Shorty head w/Gama 3/0 EWG offset hook... perfect set up for standup weedless shakey head and they produce when nothing else does. Really nice floating profile worm!!

From: Nate: Folsom 4/10/22

Comments: These worms are awesome. Canada craw, and sprayed grass are my go too colors. In rivers for smallies I fish these with a weighted ewg hook let them fall then lift slow and repeat, or slowly drag them on the bottom. They're great rigged weightless on a ewg hook, they have a real slow fall that way with the tail wiggling works great when fish a shallow. If I need to get deeper I just go to a weighted hook. I've had fish hit them on the fall or just pick it up when you leave it sitting on the bottom.

Comments: After seeing a Brian Latimer vid where he rigs these like a shaky-head on of all things, a Z-Man Shroomz, I tried it. I've since won two club tournaments on this rig, and it's been a contributor in several other great days on the water. Green-Pumpkin/Blue is a great clear-water color. I just bought some Mag-Fattyz to try this season. But the original kills it at times.

From: Brian: Orland Park, IL 3/18/20

Comments: Great bait! Started out fishing them on the power mushroom head but even weedless got caught up quite a bit where we fish in southern AZ. Switched to the shakey head and hooked them weedless and the Green Pumpkin is gold even in the heavily stained water we fish. Caught 24 largemouth in 6 hours one day, which is huge for that lake. Shake it or drag it slowly across the bottom and if it's windy switch to a bulletz weedless. Tough as nails, caught 16 fish on one bait and the tail action works even if you just dead stick it on the bottom and simply tap the rod every once in a while.

Comments: I bought the Green Pumpkin version and put them on a Picasso 1/4oz Takedown shakey head. The plastic is VERY durable. So durable that it's annoying to put the bait onto the screw lock. Z-Man recommends using a lighter to heat the screw lock up and it'll ease the process. Instead I use the hook to poke a hole in the head of the bait and use that hole to screw the bait on. It's not the cleanest method but it works. The bait itself has amazing action and catches big fish. I honestly really enjoy using this bait and will probably keep these as a regular item in my tackle box. I recommend them to anyone.

Comments: Been neko rigging these for big smallies, they pretty much DEMOLISH these things!!!! Watermelon candy and sprayed grass have been outstanding.

From: Shawn: sd 6/8/19

Comments: These are deadly on a Texas Rig. I have also had good luck throwing them on a Ned Rig. Any color will work as long as it is Green Pumpkin...

From: The Inflatable Fishermen: Suisun City, CA 4/12/19

Comments: The best worm out there !!! Paired up with a weedless ned head you can't beat it. Doesn't rip or tear, and the colors are perfect. The buoyancy is what separates this product from the other, very lifelike. Caught many hogs with this worm !!!

From: Kendal: Indiana  10/14/18

Comments: The Fatty Z paired up with a Snake Lockz Jighead in 1/8th ounce is a dynamic combination. I love the action on the bulbous tail that the FattyZ has. I caught 2, 3lb LMB back to back on a PB&J. Depending on the color/clarity of water you're fishing in depends on the color to use. I fish from stained to Ultra Clear lakes like Beaver & Table Rock. For greenish to mild stained I use Green Pumpkin & PB&J, a little more darker water I use Black/Blue Fleck & the clear water Watermelon/Red Flake & Sprayed Grass. I've fished plastic worms most of my life and must admit, these are probably my go to worms now.

From: Nick: MO 11/25/17

Comments: Go to shakey head for docks. Skips easily on 1/8 oz. VMC Rugby jig head (EWG / weedless). I use super glue to keep bait on and skin hook. You can sink hook deeper as plastic wears. The bait has a hook slot for better penetration. This set up is usually good for 10 plus bass before re-rigging a new bait. Wish they would expand the green pumpkin colors to add some flake colors (the green pumpkin / blue is completely opaque - more like peanut butter with blue flecks. Would love to have them copy cat some of the zoom trick worm green pumpkins!! I stock any of these that have any green in them plus the junebug.

From: Joe D: Columbia, SC 11/9/17

Comments: Outstanding bait for a neko rig.  Stands straight up and sways.  I use a ball head weight and you must heat the shaft to insert.  Only knock on this bait, they all don't float.  Empty the bag in a bowl of water and some will sink.

From: Unknown 5/14/17

Comments: Great bait to use on the Neko rig! If you don't know what a Neko rig is you mat want to look it up. This thing sleighs 'em!

From: Patton: Ft. Bragg, NC 8/4/16

Comments: Great bait. Been fishing Zman baits for about 3 yrs now. Caught a lot of fish off these super soft baits. The action from these bait are awesome. Zman just need to make the FattyZ in White or Pearl.

From: Saister X: St. Paul, MN 12/17/14

Comments: this is a awesome bait. I had a 3 pack sampler and absolutely smashed post spawners on the green pumpkin texas rigged

From: Brian: glen rock pa

Comments: Not a fan of this type of plastic. It doesn't hold it's shape over time. Keep them away from all other plastics and don't store them where they may get heated. I love the shape, size, and that it floats but I won't be buying them again.

From: Roger: Lafayette, LA

Comments: First time using it today. Caught two pre spawn bass In the four lb. class right away. Rigged it on a biffle hardhead jig head in watermelon.  Looks great in the water and is easier for the bass to spot rather then some of the skinny style worms. Great bait!

From: Dave: southeast PA

Comments: My new shaky head. Very Bouyant,so fat tail sways back and forth while standing straight-up. If using screw-lock, heat up coil then it threads on beautiful. Z-Man shaky jig head is obviously the best option.

From: A.J.: North Kingstown, RI

Comments: Very Soft!!! Going to use as an alternative to Roboworm for drop shot set up, as well as shaky head. Only problem is that I cannot for the life of me get this on a screw lock hook, they are super soft and pliable and you just cant screw them on...No biggie, just have to use a different hook.
