Comments: Not a bad chatterbait at the price point. I do change out the hooks on them to 5/0 heavy duty flippin but otherwise it is a decent chatterbait.

From: Unknown 3/16/21

Comments: Personal favourite! This sucker starts instantly, which is an issue with many others. Throw a rage craw on the back and enjoy throwing into wood that conventional bladed jigs get snagged in. I don't have any hook up issues that people mentioned in other reviews; Mod/fast rod is the key

From: Steve: Ontario, CA 2/13/21

Comments: Buy the Freedom CFL Chatterbait instead (football version).  It vibrates like crazy, stays down, and has good hooking percentage.

Comments: I just started fishing this summer, I had no idea what I was doing and i was buying random stuff. I watched a few videos, heard about the Chatter bait, bought this one. I didn't use this for a bit until late summer and caught a 4 lb and 2 lb bass. I definitely do see some flaws in this lure, but overall a great lure.

Comments:I was using SK paddle tail swim bait, I changed it to a less bulkier double tail grub and the bait now runs deeper and catch's more fish, but i also use the $5 original, does the same thing "vibrate"

From: Christopher: Elizabethtown 9/10/20

Comments:I've heard a lot of bad reviews about this bait, and I don't understand why. This bait catches fish, but YOU NEED TO MODIFY THE BAIT. I can't stress this enough; the bait doesn't catch fish out of the package. I've messed around with the bait, and I've found the best results with a 5/0 flipping hook. The hook allows the skirt to stay in place, and the hook allows for a better hookup percentage. I probably fish chatterbaits 90% of the year. I only fish 2 kinds of chatterbaits: The Freedom and Jackhammer. Both have a time and a place, but I've found that the Freedom works better in warmer water (70-85*). The Jackhammer works best in 60-70* water. Don't let the other reviews discourage you from buying this bait. It catches fish, but you need to put the time into it.

Comments:These are junk, they do not have the action as the cheap original chatterbait and they do not hold depth, they instantly want to come to the top of the column and the action is not the same.Only purpose I could see these for is fishing spring time when they are up on beds.2/5

From: Gary 8/28/18

Comments:Not sure what all the fussing is about. I have had incredible luck with the Chatterbait Freedom. I am not a fan of using a Texas Rigging style hook so I swap it out for a straight shank with a keeper and it's awesome. It's by far the hardest striking, easiest to start up Chatterbait I have thrown. I use a slower gear ratio reel and find it excels at slow speeds and stays vibrating perfectly. It's a smallie and largie killer, great work on this bait!

From: Joe - Angola, NY 5/25/18

Comments:Great to rig a chatterbait weedless! I use soft plastics without a paddletail like Zman razor shads that provide lots of action without the lift of paddletails. I swap out the worm hook with a straight shank hook for open water fishing. Great to have the option to change the hook when it gets dull.

Comments:Z-MAN CHATTERBAIT FREEDOM (GOLD BLADED BREAM color).....1/2 ounce is excellent BUT...be sure to get a needle nose and close the head to blade loop!!!(line can slip thru the opening)...

From: FLORIDA 2018 4/17/18

Comments:I have two of these. Even if you reel them very slow. They will not stay down. Wont stay in strike zone.

From: Mike: Cincinnati ohio 3/21/18

Comments: If this bait didn't swim straight up & out of the water while retrieving, it would be a good Chatterbait. BUT it does, so it isn't! Your better than this Z-Man!

From: Brad: Brandon, MS 1/24/18

Comments:I never did very well with Chatterbaits until I tried the Freedom style and added a Trophy Lures Swimbait as a trailer and slowed way down. During cold, early Spring conditions the key for me was slowing down and grinding it on the bottom which instantly hooked a real giant which unfortunately came off. Like others have stated, hooking a fish can be a problem and I proceeded to lose another fish or two so I added a trailer hook to mine. A few casts later I landed a 6.5lb LM on the tip of the lip with the trailer hook I just installed.

From:Unknown: Washington 12/9/17

Comments:I bought one the week it dropped. i took three casts, caught one fish, and on the fourth cast I set the hook on a fish and the only thing that i landed was the blade. the rest of the jig came off on the hookset. It wasnt even a hard hookset, and there aren't even big fish in that pond. Maybe I was too hyped for this drop.

From: K'Cie: Tulsa 9/21/17

Comments:They swim up in the water column and out of the strike zone. I did catch 2 pounder but I have yet to bring it back out, I seriously doubt I will. I will stick the project z and regular models.

From:Unknown: Indianapolis, IN 6/18/17

Comments:Great Chatterbaits.Second to None. That said, the blade on the new Freedoms and Project Z's will slip off out of the eye in front of the head.Take a pair of pliers and make sure that eye is closed.Has cost me a few donkeys.

From: Bob: Okeechobee, FL 2/8/17

Comments:I was missing fish a lot but when I felt them Id stop reeling & then set the hook into them. Landed a 6lber last night that way. Swim jigs & chatterbaits can usually be set by just reeling and sweeping like a crankbait. I was using an xfast rod as my slower rods were at home. Maybe it would work with a slower rod I will have to test it out. But I was surprised just how weedless these are. Even when I was stuck on lily pad stems a good hard pop with braid & xfast heavy rod would free it without issue. I will be buying more

From: Montanaro: Touchdown City, WV 8/21/16

Comments:Finally, a Chatterbait that you can change out the hook. I was so tired of throwing these baits away because of a dull hook. It's very easy to change. I changed mine just to test it out. This is an awesome bait. I threw the bluegill color this weekend in the grass & the second cast I caught a 5lb largemouth. The action of this bait with a Keitech Swing Impact is hard to beat!

From: Jordan: IL 6/6/16

Comments:Bought some earlier this spring, they are ok. Personally I like the original better & the head of the originals have more of a unique attribute versus these.

From: Tou: Midwest, WI 6/4/16

Comments:These are really nice chatterbaits in the fact that you can throw them up into cover & not worry about snags but that can also be their downside. There is definitely a learning curve with these in regards to getting quality hook sets. I typically throw a standard chatterbait that has an exposed hook on a glass rod with a good parabolic bend but that does NOT work with these. Normally when I get a bite on a chatterbait a steady sweep of the glass rod ensures a good hook set but with these you need a stiffer rod and set the hook like you would a jig or worm. So basically if you're throwing these, unless you see the strike or the bass crushes it leaving no doubt it can be difficult to adjust to waiting to feel the fish and setting the hook hard. I'm getting better at it but have lost quite a few fish. Overall the fit and finish of these baits are top notch and well worth $8 but I would strongly recommend spending some time with these before using them in a tournament because they may break your heart first time out.

From: Hydrilla Gorilla: Lake Seminole, GA 5/25/16

Comments:It's about time someone made these. I don't know why it taken so long to build a jig that you can texas rig the trailer. I have been making my own for years and I throw them whenever and wherever I want. I don't get snagged and I reel in toads. This is similar to the 1st and 15th EBT

From: Marlon: Wala Wala, WA 3/22/16

Comments:Got a hold of a few of these early! Excellent movement and vibration in the water with true weedless capability. If you run chatterbaits I would make sure this becomes part of your arsenal.
