Overview

Cliff Pace recently took home the victory at the 2013 Bassmaster Classic on Grand Lake, beating a field of the world’s best bass anglers. He relied on several baits during the course of competition, including the Jackall Squad Minnow Jackall Soul Shad Jackall DD Crankbait 55, as well as, the V&M Football Jig paired with a V&M Twin Tail Grub. For his gear Cliff Pace relied on Shimano Rods & Reels with Hi-SEAS Line

Jackall's Squad Minnow was created for ambitious fisherman. It includes Dart and Stop & Go action all in one. The Squad Minnow's weight system is the reason why this bait is able to create a great Dart action, but also once you stop your rod, the bait action quickly stops as well. The traditional jerk bait used to have only Dart actions, however Jackall's engineers have designed the Squad Minnow to accommodate both actions!

Comments: I didn't want to buy this jerk bait because of its price since the Jackall Rerange and Duo Realis SPs are already cheaper. But I did purchase this one in Matte White and HL Clown and I will admit that I am surprised. If you think the Jackall Rerange or Duo Realis 120sp and 130sp cast like bullet, then you're going to be blown away by this one! I was didn't know what you see at my first cast. This thing is a real bullet! Trust me, you are not going to believe it. I feel like the action on these are very similar to the Rerange but a bit heavier during the retrieve and better than the Duo Realis 120sp or 130sp. I can get this guy down to about 4 feet and the rattle is loud! I think it might be the red head on CLOWN color lures, but CLOWN HEADS, ASTRO HEADS etc. always seem to work for me because the stripers love this HL Clown.

Comments: Would not recommend, the front treble gets hooked on the line every cast when jerking. I would look to the spro, duo realis, or jackal rerange for the money.

Comments: I really like the way these baits move. I've caught quite a few fish on them. Today though, I pulled a Tennessee shad 98 out of its wrapper, caught 2 nice smallmouth and then noticed that it was sinking slowly when I sat it in the water next to the boat. I don't get it

Comments: The squad minnow is the best jerkbait on the market.  I haven't had a problem with eyes or hooks like others have said and I use these all winter long. I do have a problem with them floating and/or sinking but they still seem to catch fish after fish. Ill pay the extra money for these because they produce bass.

From: Mike: Jersey  2/16/17

Comments: There were certain colors that definately worked better.  I caught a few fish on the Squad but what really disappointed me was the fact that the hook broke and 1/2 of squadminnows are missing eyes..  I don't get that you pay 16.00 for a Jackall jerkbait and over the course of a few months I am loosing the eyes?????  What gives.  I got some of their cranks also and the eyes came off those as well. Simply not happy.

Comments: Great jerkbait. To bad TW doesn't have them in stock. Oh well plenty of them on ebay.

Comments: great lure. Easy to work, has castability and great colors. 128 sexy char is my go to lure. Jerk, jerk, pause and hold on tight!

Comments: Go to lure!

From: Myke: Fresno

Comments: 115 is great but the 128 is better because of the castibility, if only they had the sg threadfin in 128 size would be great. This lure has a different dart action and has a high pitch rattle and low pitch rattle mixed together. I would buy this lure again.

Comments: i have smacked the smallies today on the jackle SMASH minnow when using  the squad minnow we was using the same colors and the smash minnow just killed them

From: Peter:

Comments:  I have used all three sizes of the Squad Minnow and have caught a lot of fish on all 3 of them.  I have never had any problems with durability with these or any other Jackall bait. The 95 is one of the best smallmouth jerkbaits I have ever thrown.  The first time I threw the 128 I caught a largemouth over 6 pounds.  These are well made baits that flat out catch fish!!!

From: Dave: LSL, MO

Comments:I give this bait an A+ in performance, but I would have to grade it a F for durability. After I caught 6 bass, none over 3 lbs., the eye of the bait broke and I lost my bait. When I reeled in the slack line I examined the knot and discovered that it was in tact with the eye that you tie to. I never hit any hard surfaces with this lure, just fishing wide open water breaks at 5-8 feet. My conclusion was that after very little use with this lure, I will not purchase more, if this lure was constructed stronger it would be a "top of the line" product. Great action, cast awesome, catches fish, but not reliable in its durability.
