The 3:16Top Dawg Topwater Bait was created by the same people who brought us the Mission Fish. It's the most unique topwater bait we've seen. The idea that shad and small baitfish are the only bass forage that struggle on the surface is obviously wrong. A distressed trout, bluegill, baby bass or other large forage fish can also attract the attention of big hungry bass. This topwater swimbait features a hard plastic insert molded into the head of the bait that the line passes through before tying on to the split-ring and hook. When a fish hooks up, the lure will slide up the line, making it harder for the bass to throw the bait, while the hard plastic insert keeps the line from cutting through the Top Dawg's soft plastic body.

To use the Top Dawg, simply thread the line through the plastic insert, tie on the split-ring and hook that comes in each kit, hook one of the points of the treble hook into the belly of the bait, and cast into any fishy looking area. Sometimes dead sticking the bait is the most effective technique, sometimes popping it like a big popper will work, and sometimes popping it and swimming it underwater for a short distance will be productive. This is a very versatile lure and shouldn't be overlooked by anyone who wants to catch big bass, whether for fun or in a tournament.

Small 7 1/2" weight 2.08oz.

Check out our selection of rods made for throwing these big baits, this is a lot of heavy plastic and specialized equipment may be needed.
