| Bass are reactive eaters, and that means anything that swims or crawls by and looks like it
might be food is in danger of being eaten. That's good news for us bass fishermen because
it means our plastic, wood and metal inventions have a chance of catching fish. Sunfish,
bream, or bluegill, whatever you call them, are an important forage in many lakes, and when
presented correctly, a bluegill imitation can be a real fish catcher. The Rago Bluegill
Swimbait swims like food and looks like food, giving you double the chance of having a big
bass attack your lure. This bait does not have a plastic bill that can interfere with the fish
getting a good grip on the hook and it naturally swims upright in the water with lots of action
from the tail. The small Bluegill Swimbait can be used anywhere. It will swim three to five
feet underwater, depending how fast it is retrieved, and can really be useful getting bedding
fish excited. The large Bluegill Swimbait will swim a little deeper and can be deadly in front
of ambush points in lakes with good Florida strain and bluegill populations. The all green
and the green and blue colors are deadly imitations of tilapia, so if you are planning a trip to
any Mexican lakes with tilapia be sure to bring a couple of these beauties along. The large
bait is quite heavy and you should consider throwing it on a heavy rod. Your flipping stick will work in a
pinch, but then you won't be able to flip with it. Check out our selection of rods designed for
throwing the big stuff.
The newest addition to the Rago Bluegill lineup is the Baby Bluegill. This bait offers some
refined features including a slightly different fin configuration allowing the smaller lure to
swim better and a heavier wire harness in the bait making it more durable. This lure will be
killer on bedding bass, they will want to destroy the intruder that is threatening their offspring.
Small 6" weight 2.24oz, Large 7" weight 4.64oz.

Comments: The Rago Bluegill swim bait is GREAT! Went to the Delta Yesterday
with my team partner. He caugnt a 7lb 10oz and a 3lb 4oz Black Bass on the Rago Bluegill. I
had at least three bites and a sizable fish came unbuttoned. I need more practice.

Comments: Love it! This bait has one of the best most lifelike actions I have ever
seen in a swimbait. It looks exactly like a bluegill coming through the water! No monsters yet
but I did catch a 5.8 and 6.2 on it. The only drawback is after 2 fish it's already looking pretty
sad. However, that's just a good excuse to by more from Tackle Warehouse!

Comments: Caught three bass between 4 & 5 pounds at lake Amador - took two
trips. Looking for bigger fish. Now I have confidence to throw the Gill in the Anglers Choice
tournaments at the Delta. The action is improved by snipping some plastic from the tail and
clipping off the bottom fins. The bait tracks better when you do this and plant the hook
between the removed fins. Fill any hole that begins to wear (from catching fish) with fish
plastic and your ready to go.

Comments: I discussed the Rago Bluegill with others, and I believe the one I got
was just "bad". There is no movement in the tail. I tried to boil the tail to give it more action
(like I have done with other baits in the past) but it is just very stiff. 1-10 scale: appearance 9,
presentation 3.
