About This Rod

Featuring technique specific actions, tapers and lengths precisely engineered for flipping, pitching and punching, the Shimano Clarus Flipping Rods are a new addition to the winning Clarus series of rods. They feature lightweight IM-8 Graphite blanks that are sensitive enough to easily distinguish bites as your bait bounces through cover, and also powerful enough to yank big fish out in a hurry. Premium Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides at Concept Spacing also offer increased line control and the durability to stand up to the rigors of close quarter fishing. A newly designed custom Shimano Reel Seat also provides a solid base for your reel and direct access to rod blank. The reel seat also tightens from below the reel for a sleek, new threadless look. Perfectly balanced with a split grip handle and comfortable EVA grips as well, the Shimano Clarus Flipping Rods are also telescopic so the fit into most rod lockers.

Additional Features:

- Laser Etched Butt Cap
- Multipurpose Hook Keeper
- Limited Lifetime Over-the-Counter Replacement Warranty

Comments: Tip heavy to the point where it is unpleasant to fish after an hour or so. I will say that it is sensitive, and will get the job done. In all fairness, there aren't very many good flipping sticks in the 100$ range. If you can, save up for the new cumaras, those are wicked.

Comments: I didn't buy this rod. I was about to buy one due to it's new look, telescopic design, and it's IM8 blank, but I chose to go to my local tackle store to hold it first. I held the 7'7" and the tip is too heavy and too soft for my cup of tea. I will save up for a Dobyns.
