About This Reel
Constructed with Shimano’s new CI4+ material, the Shimano Stradic CI4+ Spinning Reel delivers the ultimate in lightweight spinning reel performance. Designed for fishing lightweight fluorocarbon, braided and monofilament lines, it is perfect for a wide range of finesse applications.
The reel’s new CI4+ construction is the next generation of Shimano’s CI4 material - and 250% stronger. It is also over one-and-a-half times stronger than Shimano’s normal XT-7 graphite, and more than 20% lighter as well. And because CI4+ does not contain metal, it is impervious to rust, making the Stradic CI4+ a great choice for fishing in brackish and saltwater environments.
Its X-Ship Gearing increases cranking power by more than 20% as well, and also greatly extends gear life, while its new Magnumlite Rotor lightens up handle rotation for more precise handle control and optimum balance on retrieves. Whether you are drop shotting, fishing a shakey head or small Texas-rig, the Shimano Stadic CI4+ Spinning Reel has you covered.
Comments: Not designed for bigger guys. The bend that attached to the rod is on a much steeper angler then most reels I've used (a lot). Very uncomfortable & disappointed. It just does "not fit". Never had this problem with a reel before.

Comments: Just got the 2500 the other day for drop shot and shakey head. I have always been a shimano fan for spinning reels. IMO they are the best spinning reels for freshwater. their drag is always top notch and their retrieve speed is faster than most others. I have always purchased the sahara due to its cost. splurged on the the stradic ci4. Its probably the smoothest spinning reel I have ever used. the drag is beautiful and can be adjusted very precisely for light lines. I wouldn't say it casts any further than the sahara's but its definitely a better quality reel. the eva handle is odd for me, I was always a fan of the paddle handle on the sahara 3000. I don't think this handle will prevent it from performing well, its just different. feels like a work of art in your hand and it is super light. I have it on an okuma helios and the whole combo comes in under 11 oz.

Comments: Hands down the best spinning reel I've ever owned. In the past I have only reslly used Daiwa reels but after doing research and reading reviews I purchased the 2500 series Stradic. It serves mainly as a finesse reel, spooled with 6-8lb line and paired up with a Med-Light, fast action St Croix rod. The drag system is amazing and can be dialed down or up very precisely. I know Shimano is releasing a new Stradic but I can't see them improving much more on the performance of this current reel. It is definitely worth the investment. If you don't want to spend the $200+, check out the Shimano Symetre, which is also a great spinning reel.

Comments: Landed a 6 pound Largemouth the first time I used this reel. The drag held with no slipping & very smooth. Absolutely love this reel. I paired it with a Powell TiMax 6101 LEF rod & it is by far the best, and lightest drop shot rig I have ever held in my hand. Fought and played 5 and 6 pound Clear Lake Largemouth Bass all day.

Comments: I purchased the 1000 model. I put this on a G Loomis mag lite rod for smallmouth bass in ozark streams in Missouri. The rod & reel performed above my expectations! Casting was incredible! The reel coasted the line without ant issues & when the bronze backs hit, it was a joy to reel them in! This reel casts like a bait aster on an ultra light Rod!

Comments: This sleek shiny reel is worth the money. Let's just say I'd take this reel over watching money manziel toss the pigskin in front row seats any day. The color combo is just incredible and wow I can't believe how strong it is. It is smooth like my $3000 sylvan cutting through the water on a rough windy day. Folks if you want a spinner that's light as my friend tuckers record bass(not even half a pound) this is the one.

Comments: A very light reel that operates super smooth and improved from the previous model(ci4) especially the rigidity( the ci4 did flex). I am using the 2500 for finesse applications and I am impressed. Seems like a very solid reel inside and out with a very eye pleasing color pattern( if you're into that).

Comments: I have the shimano stradic ci4+ in the 3000 size this reel is so light and has so much power for such a light reel I have caught many bass on this reel as well as a couple nice sea trout it works great in both fresh and salt water I highly recommended this reel
From: Riley: FL 8/4/14
Comments: this reel is beyond amazing, from the weight (the 3000 series of this reel weighs a half ounce less then the 1000 stradic) to how smooth the drag is(I've tackled multiple reds over 30" on this thing and have yet to have any issues at all). This thing is simply the perfect reel for inshore, fresh water, and shallow offshore fishing!

Comments: My not so recent purchase on this spectacle of a reel was very astounding. After fishing for so many years now and experiencing more than half a dozen high end reels, i can only feel safe to say. save those 500 bucks from a stella and get this stradic ci4. it fits perfectly on my daiwa crossbeat rod, probably not sold in the US, but it is amazingly light, smooth, and reliable, i realize how X-ship does make a difference now. The drag also never ceases to amaze me. I guess whatever shimano does make, they shouldn't stop, its amazing. Thanks also to the superbly reliable Tacklewarehouse.

Comments: I have 2 CI4 reels, 3000 and 4000. I just bought a new CI4+ 3000. It looks similar to the older models but is beefed up internally. It is almost exactly like the Sustain 3000 that I have except for 2 bearings, one under the spool and one in the handle. I bought a new handle knob (machined aluminum) and added an extra bearing on it. I also added the bearing under the spool. Now it is virtually the same as the Sustain for $100 less. I love all my Shimano reels, they have never let me down. I also recommend replacing the drag washers with carbon fiber. They work great.

Comments: My dad just won one of these reels in a raffle, needless to say im quite tempted to steal it and add it to my own arsenal after trying it out. Another flawless design by Shimano.

Comments: I have owned many Shimano reels and reels from many other brands. What I can say is Shimano makes superb products. Especially the stradic ci4+. It is extremely light and can tell a difference. Once you take it out for an outting, all the other reels just feel a whole lot heavier. The reel is extra smooth, has a nice drag, and looks really cool. If you're looking for a really lightweight and great spinning reel don't hesitate to buy it. The weight loss is worth the money you pay for it.

Comments: Love the new stradic, it definitely feels more solid and you can feel that it has more power just by turning the handle. Looks cool too; revamped color, more of a black shine-color then the grey sparkle from previous. Handle is different too, spool, here and there. Can't wait to try it out.

Comments: I bought the CI4 when they first came out 3 or 4 years ago . It is by far my favorite Reel, I've caught a lot of LM Bass mostly in the 2 to 5 lb.range it has performed flawlessly . The wife is telling me she is going to buy the CI4+ for Christmas for me , if she has it attached to a G Loomis rod I'll probably stay with her another 35 years. LOL

Comments: I have both the Stradic FJ and CI4 sizes 3000 for the fj and 2500 for the CI4. Just bought a 1000 CI4+ and it feels more capable then the 2500CI4 and just the same as the 3000fj. It handled a 10lb silver on a trip up in WA with ease and without flex during multiple long runs on a locked down drag yet so very light!! hopefully itll be as legendary as my FJ which is 3 years old and sill very close to brand new performance even in the salt. So far great reel buying a 3000 for the bigger stuff and leaving that 1000 just for them small trouts;)

Comments: I have had a Stradic FJ reel for months and just got a C14. For the money difference, I'd say its worth just going ahead and getting the FJ. Not a whole lot different. Plus, they put a bell-shaped FOAM handle on the C14. The more I use it, the less I like it. That's the connection between you and the line guys. FOAM?
From: Brian: Bismarck, AR, USA
Comments: I will start off by saying that I am absolutely hooked on the Stradics! I purchased the C14 2500 last year and have it spooled with 5lb Sunline FC Sniper and it is just as strong as my Chronarchs. I just received the C14+ in the 1000FA size, and am stoked on it. It has new technology, however looks virtually they same as the regular C14. I bought this reel for light trout fishing as well as thin senkos and drop shots for bass. Also being a resident of California, I ordered the reel yesterday around noon and received it the next day before noon.....for no extra cost. Beyond stoked on tacklewarehouses customer service and products, I will never order anywhere else.

Comments: I have the old version and still don't understand why they changed it. The old saying goes " if it's not broken don't try to fix it." Still a Shimano spinning reel fan.

Comments: Fisrt impressions... Hype, I have the CI4 and its the same reel... This thing has sooo much rotor noise and is NOT smooth at all... I will be out fishing with it today and post how my day went when i get back
