About This Reel
The paint job isn't the only thing that's changed on the new Shimano Sonora FB Spinning Reel. Its equipped with the several of Shimano's newest features and many improved features, such as the Super Stopper II for back reeling fish, enabling the angler to turn the one-way roller bearing on or off. The Propulsion Line Management System and the Varispeed Oscillation system make sure there is much less line twisting and friction. New materials and components, including the Graphite Frame and Cold Forged Aluminum Spool, help keep the reel lightweight, but not when it comes to fish pulling strength.
Super durable and backed by Shimano's stellar warranty, there's no need to worry about the Sonora. Just in case you want to make any tweaks or adjustments at home, there is also Shimano's Repairable Clicker on every Sonora. These preventative measures combined with 4-Sheilded Stainless Steel Ball Bearings, will keep your reel smooth and on the water for a long time.
- Super Stopper II
- Repairable Clicker
- Approved for use in Saltwater
Comments: Purchased one last year in early fall. Used mostly for pitching weightless senkos and tubes. Had it cleaned and lubed this spring and felt some vibration. The guy I had clean it said between times and parts I'd be another $50 into it....obviously not worth it. Not happy with mine and won't be buying another. If you're dead set on buying a Shimano, spend the extra $10 and get a Sedona, little heavy but they're bulletproof. I've started purchasin Pflueger's because of this but still love my Sedona.

Comments: Good reel for the money. I abused it for two summers with large crank and spinnerbaits and it performed well. Bearings are worn now, but not inoperable. Its a reliable reel, and lived a good life.

Comments: smooth and dont twist line will buy another one soon
Comments: it's okay works fine but the spool wobbles and sand got in it and it was a pain to take apart and put back together I'm not gona buy it again Try to save up and get something a little better with more metal parts

Comments: Not a big fan of this reel. Looks and feels cheap. The one I got has a giant handle on it too (which I don't like). Not like the thumb grip in the photo. I have the 2500FB on a 7 ft MH Abu Vengeance rod. The reel doesn't seem to like the backbone that the rod has. Casts fine but the retrieve is less than desirable.

Comments: one of the best reels for the price. Bought it right before the winter so I have only used it a hand full of times but I can safely say it is one of my new favorite reels. Smooth and strong.
