Comments: I too got this reel during last year's holiday special. I paired it to a a St. Croix Victory (the Jerk) VTC68MXF. What a really great jerkbait combo! This reel, with it's light weight is phenomenal! Great casting with sunline flouro. Feels great in the hand after hours jerkbait fishing. I did my homework on this combo and it paid off. This is just a really great jerkbait reel. Recomend all the way!

Comments: This is one of many reels I got during the Holiday specials. Got this based on the recommendation of the Tacticanbassin guys. Used it in Florida recently and was very impressed.

From: Richard : Meriden, CT 2/4/23

Comments: Love this real, lite weight, smooth reeling, spool and breaks are easy to set up. Only thing I don't love about it is how plastic the reel feels, that being said it's way tougher then it feels. Casts very well and when attached to a light weight rod it's no issue or strain making continuous searching casts up and down a shoreline or rip rap. Did have one show up with a noisy bearing while casting but tackle warehouse swapped it out for me no problems at all. Between the C2 and A2 all of my rods will have these reels on them by the end of the year.

Comments: I honestly like the original c better .. still have it .. the original feels more like a tool and not a plastic gimmick .. side note .. I also bought the $400 boss reel a couple years back .. absolutely the worst $400 I've ever spent in fishing .. the boss was complete garbage .. so glad to see it's no longer being sold .. anyways the C2 is just ok for me .. Stick to Shimano or Daiwa

Comments: Writing this review after 5-6 months of heavy usage- I fish regularly (4-5 times a week) and am now in the process of swapping out all my current equipment with these reels. I initially bought this to have a lightweight reel to use without much fatigue after injuring my arm at work. These reels have drastically improved my fishing experience the smooth flat sides make it extremely easy to palm and its so lightweight that it drastically improved on how much fatigue and pain i would normally get from fishing for even just an hour, it is very strong too. I am very impressed with these Reels.

Comments: The C2 is horrible when compared to the original Concept C, but if you compare it with other mid-grade reels it's not much different; I like it better than my Metanium DC but I find the winding noise they both make when casting annoying. If you can find an original Concept C get it instead of the C2, but if you want a dependable reel on a budget this one is one of the better options. Tight lines!

From: Ricky: Exeter, PA 6/10/22

Comments: no where near the quality of the first generation...spool wobbles when fasten to some rods, i think the light weight frame goes out of allignment when tightened down...very odd and extremely annoying. sadly 13 quality has been on a steady decline over the past few years.....this is the last straw for me.

Comments: Sometimes you know how good a reel will perform just by picking one up. When the Concept C2 was put into my hand the first thing that crossed my mind and blurted out of my mouth was "this is so light!' I then gave it a few cranks and knew it was ridiculously sturdy too. I have fished this reel for almost a year at least three times a week and it has held up and continued to impress me. The smoothness of the reel is unmatched. When your lure gets smashed and that fish comes to a dead stop its a great feeling. This is without a doubt one of my favorite reels. I have the 7:5:1 and use it primarily for cranking because the retrieve is unmatched. You're gonna want to make this purchase, you won't regret it.

From: Mike: St Pete, FL 7/6/21

Comments: Great option for those looking for a great lightweight reel for lighter duty applications! I use this primarily as a finesse bottom contact reel on lightweight rods, great jerkbait and topwater reel as well! I have larger hands and the only problem I have is that it seems a little to small for me but the drag, cast ability and drag are fantastic.

Comments: Looks good, reels good and I like the knobs. But the drag did not work on the reel I purchased. I own the concept C, KP and E. The E is my favorite. The C2 is a nice improvement. But mass produced reels with little to no quality control.  I have had to send all my 13 reels back to 13 repair except the concept E. The design on the body and heavy weight drags has me hooked. But was let down on the C2 when the drag did not work at all. Back to 13 repair it goes.  Buy with caution.

Comments: Bought on of these end of last year and just added another 2 weeks ago - will have a pile of them by the end of summer. Lots of things to like, casts really anything like a bullet but the biggest thing is the weight. My oh my its like holding air, super impressed.

From: Ryan: Minocqua, WI 4/5/21

Comments: One of the best Reeks I have ever put in my hands. Lightweight, casts a mile and gorgeous. I'm going to buy a couple more myself and already recommended to several people.

From: Eric: Phoenix, AZ 3/2/21

Comments: Got the high speed reel for frogging. It's a lightweight tank. Drag is super powerful. Great for fighting monsters out of the heavy cover. Fished it for 6 months no issues. Just sad it's winter.

From: Ben: Tarpon Springs, 2/10/21

Comments: Great purchase. Like most light weight reels you can hear the internals moving, but this model has a unique sound; it's actually kinda cool. Casting is excellent! Good controlled distance. Palms perfectly and has awesome grips. I would like to try the a2 with the brass gears.

From: Steve: Ontario, Canada 11/26/20

Comments: Cosmetically, the reel has a great appearance and feels good in hand. However, I had a user unfriendly experience when trying to make adjustments with the tension spool knob. Just never could get it to work consistently. In addition to that the 6 brake adjustment system dial was literally difficult for me to turn when making adjustments. I am not fawn of having to open up a reel to make adjustments when out on the water. Especially out on rough water when windy. Out of a possible 10 points, I would give this reel 7.

From: Jim: Giddings, TX 11/13/20

Comments:
Ordered this in the 8.3 when it first came out and using it as my primary reel for frog fishing. Zero slip on the drag when setting the hook and reeling in fishcovered in grass. Casts a mile, absolutely love it and will be ordering a couple more for next season!

From: BSFishing: MN 10/7/20

Comments:
Had the original C, used it for 3 years, never had issues. Grabbed one of these when they came out and I have to say, marked improvement. Used the reel for about 3 months now, crazy impressed and I'll be adding more next spring (almost ice season up here). This thing is crazy lite - almost have to hold it to really understand. Also casts like a bullet. Great job on the update 13.

From: Ryan: Arbor Vitae 10/7/20

Comments: These reels are really just amazing. I've found where I like them dialed in and they cast so far and the breaking system really helps with backlashes. Definitely get the least of any of my reels on this one. Definitely a reel I'd grab over any other anytime I'm fishing.

From: Christian 10/7/20

Comments:
Solid reel for the price, improvements were definitely made from the concept C to the C2 it cast farther, is more ergonomic, and overall smoother, it's one badass reel highly recommended.
