Comments: This reel is great I love it , drag is sweet caught hundreds of bass with it on 10lb mono, being 50 dollars it is definitely a must buy, the reel I got lasted just under 1 full year it's been on easily 100 plus trips long hours of fishing works great, there is 1 design flaw I have found with it there is a seam right where the reel it self connects to the reel arm, right near the maxstx logo the part that connects to the rod seat, being a cheaper reel it probably was stress cracked from vigorous use, I set the hook just like I have hundreds of times starting cranking and bam it broke right in two , it was upsetting because I really like this reel. Just Bought another 1 tho I know it has a weakness, if Abu ever wants to fix that issue and remake this reel keep everything else the same on it I'd pay 70 bucks for it.

Comments: Abu Garcia has some of the best inexpensive reels on the market. If you're looking for something that will work great for most applications the STX is the best place to start. I picked up the 30 size and the drag is smooth. Personally I'd put up there with the $100 reels. It reminds me of the old silver max just with a little better components. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone the needs to add a spinning reel to their line up.

Comments: I bought a MAXSTXSP10 in June to set up a cheap ned rig combo. I paired it with a 6'6 M Bass Pro spinning rod. I kinda cheaped out on this rig because ned rigging isn't something i normally do and it's something i had zero confindence in. In the last two months it's become my go-to setup and this reel has been awesome. My only complaints would be that you can't back-reel with this reel. Other than that it has performed flawlessly from 12" keepers to 4 lb + smallies, from crappies to 10 lb channel cats.
