Amazing BFS reel for the money!!I’ve reviewed this reel before on this website but out of 37 reviews only 10 are shown, that’s kinda weird considering????? Anyway I want to make sure this reel gets the recognition it deserves, so I’m submitting a new review. The Ark Gravity BFS reel is absolutely phenomenal!! For the money it destroys everything, and above its price point. This reel has the best breaking system on the market for BFS fishing I’ve ever used. It’s lightweight and comfortable to palm. The reel handle is perfectly sized, and the knobs are smooth as butter, they grip well and are comfortable. The reel has a drag clicker if thats your thing, and very audible. The braking system is easily adjustable, and on the outside dial is 36 clicks of adjustment, with three internal settings. I normally set a 1/16oz - 1/8oz jig head with a 2.8” Keitech swimbait up on internal brake #2 at 18 to 20 clicks on the outside break dial. The spool has a line indicator engraved into the face of the spool, and your line shouldn’t be filled past that point. As for what line to use, i highly recommend a Japanese style x8 strand braided line, I use 20-24lb Varivas which is 1.0# for 20lb or 1.2# for 22-24lb in Japanese scale. It’s incredibly thin for the weight ratio your getting. You DO NOT want to use thinner braided lines than this, such as 4-15lb braid etc. even though you may think it would help or be beneficial on a BFS set up. Trust me on this, as 24 lb Varivas is similar to 8lb Powerpro. If your line gets too thin it will start to dig into itself and cause other issues that aren’t worth the hassle. I found the reel itself smooth and reliable after over a year of weekly use. As for the negatives on this reel, I’d say it has an overly strong spool clutch or spool release button, much more than is needed for BFS, and the drag star pressure doesn’t start ramping up until you’re almost locked down at the maximum of 10-12lbs. Of that makes senses? With this BFS reel I can comfortably cast long distances with the lightest weights possible without the fear of tinkering with the brakes for several minutes and casts. It definitely exceeded my expectations after using Shimano, Daiwa, and Kastkings options in the closest price range to the Arkgravity. If you’re on the fence, trust my review and follow my line recommendation and I think you’ll be pleased. My rod setup is a Cashion Icon BFS 7’ light fast action 1/16-5/16oz IBFS7LF

Ark gravity bfsThis reel is amazing! I'm so glad I decided to go with it. It's so nice that I don't even need to look any further when I buy another because there's is nothing I would change or hope for. Very happy with this reel.

Very ImpressiveI have a more expensive Daiwa BFS reel and honestly I like this Ark better. For the price point I’m not sure it can be beat. Smooth, excellent braking system for small bass lures. Definitely recommend.

Ark gravityLoving it so far..! Amazing how it can cast such light Jdm lures without backlashing. I added it on my tatula bfs rod.

Amazing ValueI had been hearing so much hype about these reels, I had to try one for myself. I love it, very easy to use, smooth, light, and can cast (as low as I have tried) 1gram with ease. I mainly use this reel for 3-7 gram lures and it’s great. I have it pair with a tatula bfs L, but it would work great with a UL or a ML

good for priceSeems to be a good value for price. Works well but the reel tension adjustability seems imprecise.

Great reel, drag is lameThis is a great option for those looking to get into BFS. Very light reel that cast extremely light baits very far, BUT the drag on this reel sounds like the drag on a cheap spinning reel or a spincast reel. Yeah, it's nitpicking, but there might be someone who'll find that sound as a dealbreaker.

Ark Gravity BFS reelI can't really give a fishing review yet as I am currently waiting on parts to finish building a BFS rod. Initial concern out of the box is the reel does not feel as free as I think it should. Turning the handle feels sluggish. Hopefully it is just grease/oil needing redistributed once it starts getting used.

Tough to beatGot a deal too good to pass up on 2 of these. Wasnt exactly expecting the moon from an Ark reel. Usually, light composite reels have a cheap feel, but the frame is plenty solid and the drag is smooth. I don't know if it's a fluke, as my second Gravity BFS is still in the box, but this reel is unreasonably smooth. This winter has been brutally cold. I had 4 or 5 days fishing off the bank with it before the water hardened. The biggest fish taken so far was about 3lbs, with a half dozen more that were 2lb and up and it handled everything great. Casting wise, the performance is solid. In order to get max performance, you need to dial in the brakes, which can be a little temperamental. IMO, my Gravity BFS, outperforms the Curado BFS I had used. A friend of mine feels the same way.
