How could it get any better?I purchased this reel after reading many reviews and it is my first bfs reel. The 1st cast with a 1/8oz bait blew my mind. Why would anyone need more than this. I paired it with a Dobyns Sierra finesse series 700c and I think I’m going to get another. You won’t regret buying this reel if you want to get into bfs. .

Price = PerformanceYou can't beat a budget BFS reel for the performance this reel gives. It'll cast 1 gram to 10 grams+ baits, you just have to be finesse about it. I use this for finesse and power finesse fishing, and it's been great paired with my medium light rod. I'd be happy to purchase one again.

Disappointed and hope I can get my money backRight away it’s just screaming when I cast it. No matter how I have it set or dialed. It’s also reeling in gritty and geary. I’m done buying cheap stuff after this.

Great BFS ReelThis reel is perfect for all bfs applications. Brakes are amazing and easy to dial in. Is able to cast super light lures and overall is worth way more than the price

Very nice BFS reel especially for the price!I’ve had the Ark Gravity BFS reel for almost a year now. My first and only Ark reel I’ve ever purchased. I think it’s an amazing reel and was very easy to dial in. The breaking system is legit and easy to use. The reel is lightweight and palms really well. It comes with a drag clicker that’s not overly loud nor silent. The drag itself is smooth, and has plenty of power for the lines you’ll be using on this reel. The handle is perfect, a nice size only a little longer than most BFS reels on the market which I like. Knobs are comfortable and remind me of knobs on Daiwa reels. Read the instructions when putting line on the spool, don’t fill the spool to the maximum, there is an indication line on the spool where you need to stop. It’s about 3/8” from the top. I recommend Varivas 8 strand braid 22lb line. It’s the perfect diameter, you don’t want to use something like 5lb braid as it will be too thin, 22lb Varivas is the same diameter of a 4-7lb fluorocarbon. Remember you need a bfs rod for your bfs reel or it won’t perform as it should, casting very light lures requires optimization. Cashion 7’ light fast action rod is a good recommendation. I’ve tried the Curado bfs reel, and even upgraded it with a lighter spool, spool bearings. Sadly I was unimpressed, even with the upgrade. It’s just not suited to casting the true bfs lures with distance and keep the spool controlled.

This reel is amazingThis reel far surpassed my expectations with its casting ability I can bomb cast a 1/32 crappie jig. I also use it up to 3/16 for down size bass gear and works great and handles solid fish too, I just caught a 3 1/2lb smallmouth that took multiple runs and had no issues getting it landed. Also this reel is easy to dial in I’m not sure why the curado guy was complaining, I’d just read the paper the reel comes with that explains their braking system, it’s not rocket science lol.

Great BFS reelI purchased this reel to throw the megabass BFS baits (Kirashi, baby popx, dogx jr) as well as jackall 007 riser. Easy to make adjustments, light weight. I've had it for little over year and it has mostly battled coosa spotted bass which are known for their fight. Drag is nice. Highly recommend.

Best bang for your Buck BFS reel everRunning this reel on a Ark Tharp "one eyed jack" rod and the combo is replacing all my finesse bass spinning rigs. I have caught multiple 4+lb bass on it and I can keep them out of trees and other structure while playing them till I can get them into the boat. The reel casts my 10lb braid with an 1/8oz crappie magnet farther than any spinning reel made and I am way more accurate with it allowing me to pinpoint high percentage locations for large mouth bass.

Gravity BFSI love bfs fishing and saw the reviews on this one so I tried it out. Honestly I’m not that impressed. It is super hard to dial in and doesn’t cast anything 1/8 oz or lighter very far without backlashing. I like my Curado 10x better than the gravity but I guess you get what you pay for with the gravity being cheaper.

Bang for the buck! This reel is amazing. Casts really well and feels great in the hand. Love it. Would recommend it to anyone thinking about trying BFS or upgrading their BFS.

Exceeded ExpectationsWas not sure about the whole BFS idea. I thought the price was reasonable and had reasonable expectations. Paired this with the ARK Tharpe ML rod. Put a 1/16 jighead with 2.8 Keitech Swing Impact Fat. First cast big birds nest. Adjusted the brakes and the tension. Amazing! Casted farther than just about anything else in my arsenal. The return was smooth. It's lightweight and well balanced. I will be getting another. Ark is on point!

Very impressed !!Very nice reel. used it once … and came home to order me a second one. I spooled 8lbs test sufix nanobraid on it with 6lbs seagar flouro leader.. very light setup.. it sends my lightest hard lure a mile away .. better than my spining setup..the Imakatsu I Arrow Twitch Bait wich weights 3/32 oz..paired to a dobyns sierra rod. this is replacing my spinning gear. Only thing i dont like is ..it is tought to remove the side plate, is no twist off you gotta like use your finger nails to pry it open but once you set it up really dont need to get back in there, so its aright. .maybe is because its new.. Number II inside break with outside setting at 1/3 worked great for that lure weight. Very smooth reel and comfortable. Clicker drag is sweet. I recommend it.

Terrible qualitySo I bought this reel not even a month ago and when I first got it I thought it was way to difficult to dial in and even after I would it would easly birdsnest and today as I’m fishing I tossed it up the bank and I get up there and pick it up my whole side plate is gone and my spool too i was never able to find my side plate even after 20 minutes the side plate should not be falling off like that so now I have a useless peice of plastic

Great ProductSet the internal brake after taking the spool out to 2 (II), set the tension to where the spool barely moves side to side, turn the external brake from there to the middle for average casters, then to the left for more experienced. Setting from rawr fishing on youtube. Then enjoy ! Might get another for a more power bfs set up. The rod matters, so just make sure to pair correctly.

AwesomReel works great. I can cast a mile with light lures and the click drag is so much better than the traditional bait caster drag. I'm glad I went with this instead of some of the more expensive options...great value and zero issues. I've caught 5lb smallies and big freshwater drum and got them in the boat on 6lb test no problem.

Can’t be beat at the $$Caught 50 smallies on this reel on a recent trip on the Delaware. Threw a 1/8-ounce jighead and 2.8 Keitech with much more accuracy to current seams than I would have been able to manage with a spinning combo. Ability to hit the thumb bar, disengage the reel for a second, let bait drop like a dying baitfish and BAM hook up when re-engaging reel is something I could not do with a spinner. Haven’t tried it yet on lighter baits so I can’t speak to that. But for power bfs fishing on a ML rod, this thing cannot be beat. And I do have a few cheap CDM bfs reels like the Acura Doviello. This reel is so far superior it’s not even a fair comparison. Sure, those reels cost under $50, but for an extra $100 the fishing experience with this reel is far superior and absolutely worth the extra $$ IMHO. Gonna buy another one as soon as TW has their next site-wide sale.

Ark Gravity BFSI have purchased several of these from Tackle Warehouse. For the price, they cannot be beat. They do everything my more expensive Daiwa and Shimano BFS reels do. Running 8lb Power Pro braid on them and they seem to love this line. Capacity is more than adequate; even when bombing small spinnerbaits, crankbaits and X-Nanahans.

SurprisedI was really surprised how well the reel performans and it feels solid. Great handle and grip size, perfect drag, line capacity is not much at all though since I use 10lb floro. I would change anything about it.

Love this thing!I have to say I was a bit dismayed when it came to the "BFS" stuff at first. "Big Freaking Scam" as many have said. I felt the same way. I got a lighter rod with a 1/8th ounce bottom end in the form of a St. Croix Triumph. Decent enough rod, but on their low end. I grabbed the Kastking Zephyr as well. No, I didn't swap out the bearings etc. Maybe I should have. Still have it and it won't be used. That was a year ago. Turning the page to now and this real, I am shocked and amazed. It takes a while to get used to, but it is a GREAT reel for this stuff. More fun than I imagined. The price is great as well. Compared to the JDM imported stuff from Shimano and Daiwa, this thing sings at this price. Grab one if you have not already.
