Taking shallow water swimbait fishing to a new level, the Berkley Powerbait CullShad Swimbait combines big profile drawing power with Berkley's proprietary Honeycomb Technology to increase durability without sacrificing action. Featuring a pre-rigged hassle-free harness and hook retention clip to keep the treble hook secured to the belly, the body and keeling harness design prevent blowouts and keep the CullShad running true even at fast retrieve speeds.
Additionally, the Berkley Powerbait Cullshad Swimbait allows anglers to adjust the sink rate on the fly with smart weighting rigging options that provide precise depth control with the use of nail weights. Perfect for targeting that kicker bass on tournament day, the Berkley Powerbait CullShad Swimbait is finished with first-in-class painted and HD printed forage matching color patterns to ensure you've got the Berkley advantage cast after cast!
The better magdraftive fished magdraft and this bait and i think this one is just a better version I have caught multiple 5+ pounders on this bait in the albino 6in version.

Good baitBait likes a moderate retrieve and has a good body roll. It will blow out on a fast retrieve. If you want any kind of depth you will have to use nail weights or take a lunch while you wait for it to sink.

Would gave it a 5 if the durability was betteGot me one of these amazing but i have only caught about 20 fish and half the paint is missing both eyes have been knocked off. I was fishing grass bottoms and off flat ledges before anyone assumes I messed it up pulling through wood or rocks. Also it needs better weight in the nose. After modifying it with a 1/8 ounce snap shot the thing worked perfect. Caught alot of fish around 30 between 2 to 4 pounds. It just sucks knowing I now need a new one after one trip.

Needs improvementYou really need to dial this thing in with all 3 nail weight slots. I would recommend 2 3/32 front and back and an 1/8. It runs decent atleast but the hook up ratio is atrocious.

Cull shadTried the Cull Shad first time in early February and since that time have caught in excess of thirty bass on it. Almost nine out of ten have been over 3 pound with the biggest 7.69. With the exception of the smaller ones, nearly all were hooked deep inside the mouth. They absolutely eat this thing! All were caught on the Hitch color, 6" size, and I am still using the original lure. Very durable! Put the nail weights in it. Completely satisfied with this swim bait.

They are alrightIn my experience these have a sweet spot in your retrieval speed similar to the magdraft. They don't do great slow rolled or burned like it says on the box. The replacement cullshads I was sent did not perform that much better that the original recalled ones. The recalled baits can be fished when you put a couple nail weights in the suggested slots. I really like the hook clip, I just wish the retrieval speed was as versatile as everyone who advertised the bait said it was.

Awesome Paddle Tail!I bought one of the newer ones and took it to the lake that day just to check out the swim and it is awesome! You can put nail weights in the slots and it will get down quickly and the wag of the tail plus the crazy head wobble is great, I have no experience with the recalled one but the new one is great and I would say MagDraft definitely has an equal now maybe better! Not to mention Powerbait scent seriously! Awesome lure!

Don't toss your recalled Cull ShadJust a tip for anyone who bought one of the early recalled batch- don't toss it! I took my old one that didn't swim right, put a couple of small nail weights in the belly slots Berkley recommends and a little lead wire around the hook shank and now it not only swims great, but it gets down in the water column quick. So, now I've effectively got a slow sinker that covers the mid and upper parts of the column with the new one and a faster sinker that gets deep with the old one.

Comments: I bought this bait with high hopes for a quality Swimbait but I took it out yesterday and it didn't swim right at any speed it kept rolling on its side. I searched for reviews on the internet and came across an article by Tackle Tour going over the bait. It seems as though they are having a recall on this bait and asking for people who bought it fill out a form online and submit a picture and Berkley would send out a replacement in August. This is unfortunate but I commend Berkley for being transparent and doing the right thing. This is how you keep your customers happy by stepping up to the plate and making it right. Good job Berkley. If you have one of these baits you must complete the form before the end of July to receive a replacement

Comments: Before anyone gets too up in arms about this bait, Berkley is doing a recall on the first batch due to problems in manufacturing and they're doing free replacements. There are details on the Berkley website about how to get your Cullshad replacement, but I believe you have to get your request in by July 31st.

Comments: I have to say I am pretty disappointed in this swimbait. Just tested it out today and it swims horrible. The only way I can keep it from rolling over is to reel it really fast and then it will right itself but then you have no control to get it deeper. Reel it slow and it will swim on its side. I examined the bait to see if it had a defect but nothing stood out. I am amazed Berkeley would put out a product this bad.
