Overview

Featuring an innovative head-to-blade connection to eliminate blade breakoffs, the Berkley Powerbait Slobberknocker Bladed Jig offers superior durability and creates an enticing bass-tuned sound profile as the design allows for ample blade to head contact. The smart solution when it comes to fishing bladed jigs, the Slobberknocker provides versatility and ease of use with its ability to deflect off of cover and rip straight through vegetation as the sizeable blade delivers increased flash and water disturbance.

Complete with hand-tied Powerbait silicone skirting material, these bladed jigs are built for long-lasting performance and come infused with an irresistible flavoring that encourages fish to bite and hold on 18x longer. Available in a premium selection of forage matching colorways, the Berkley Powerbait Slobberknocker Bladed Jigs are backed by a stout needlepoint Berkley Fusion19 hooks to afford anglers with the power to grind trophy-bass back to the boat.

Stick with the JackhammerI picked this up to try I have been using the z-man jackhammer mini max and big blade before but I wanted to try these The quality and concept is there but there is something about the jackhammer blade hitting the head that makes it superior to the competition. It is worth paying the extra money for the jackhammer.

Big bites and short strikesJust plain gets bit for me, that being said it could work better with a stinger hook because of all the short strikes. Works great with the power stinger and thumps hard, you can bring it over brush really well, and it rips through grass fairly well. It's become a confidence bait when the bite gets tough for me and I have actually started to wear out the gold on the blade of the golden shiner color, the paint on the blade is not the best as my cole slaw one is peeling hard. But I really wish berkley would make smaller ones out of tungsten for the action.

Comments: I don't like it at all. Vibration is really weak and there's no hunting side to side. I wanted to like it. Tried both a 3/8 and 1/2 oz. Cool colors and cool idea, but it sucks. Zero fish caught.

From: Zack: WV 9/23/23

Comments: Another dude here saying this bait should be a hard pass when shopping chatter jigs. I get it, it's supposed to be a bit different than other chatterbaits, but dang man, it doesn't get bit for me. I could have bought a proven bait like a jackhammer for the price of this slobber dumpster. Huge fail.

From: Meatwad: 8/29/23

Comments: This bait is very overpriced and just seems cheaply made and fake in the water. Has one of the worst skirt materials ive ever seen. my buddy caught fish all day on the jackhammer and I couldn't buy a bite with the slobber knocker.

From: Unknown: virginia 6/29/23

Comments: Yes, the skirts come stuck together a bit, because they are made of powerbait infused silicone. But if you pick them apart a bit they are fine. And these things catch fish! They aren't designed to go against other chatterbaits, they are more subtle and give the fish something they haven't seen. Early season, pressured lakes all year long, whenever you need to change it up, this is the one!

From: Unknown: 4/9/23

Comments: The Slobberknobber is up against some stiff competition as we all know. But it's sweeter than corn on the cob. However, it rose to the occasion like a champion after getting stuck in a thick bush. After 3 back to back hawgs really pulling hard the shaft was still stiff but had a slight bend in it. A petite/mini version would be stimulating. Hoping you will make one with a plaid skirt!

From: Richard Longwood: 3/24/23

Comments: The skirts are kind of stuck together. This bait did not impress me. The Original chatter bait outfished this bait today. I did not realize the price when I bought mine. Most def not worth that price. I won't buy another one.

From: O’billy Dudewright: 2/11/23

Comments: I haven't fished with the slobberknocker yet but I will say this bait has one downside compared to the jackhammer in my opinion. It's hand tied skirt is tied with thread. Not wire. Otherwise it seems super good. The skirt does stick together which is odd because the power blade doesn't do that nor do the jigs. All in all, I think it's a valuable addition to the market of chatterbaits but it's still not the jackhammer. I do really like the keeper a lot better.

From: Elijah: Rome Georgia 1/24/23

Comments: I am going to give you the results of an actual comparison test conducted yesterday, 1/19/2023. My partner and I fished the Slobberknocker against the Jack Hammer, we both fished a white bait, and trailer. I fished the Slobberknocker with a Power Stinger trailer, while he fished the Jack Hammer, with a Zako trailer, at the end of the day my partner beat me soundly catching (15) bass to my (2). Even though, I caught the biggest, 4.7 lbs. It was a total beat down. We both had fished the same lake two weeks prior, both fishing the white Jack Hammer, catching over twenty bass, best (5) weighing (24.4) lbs . We both caught an equal number of fish. The other tail that really stuck out in this comparison is I fished the front of the boat all day. With that said, you know what I'm going to continue to fish with.

From: Fuzzy: FL 1/20/23

Comments: We like everything about the new Slobberknocker except the skirts which come all stuck together. Buy the bait and replace the skirts!

From: Blake: TX 12/20/22

Comments: The slobberknocker is a beast! The head design not only slides and slices through grass with ease, it also rolls right over logs, laydowns, and tree tops. I am able to fish this bladed jig through thicker cover (WITHOUT getting hung) better than I can any other one on the market. The off-white color Berkley offers is off the chain and cole-slaw is my new favorite dirty water bait. Not to mention the sticky sharp fusion hook.

From: Logan: Auburn, AL 11/16/22

Comments: This is another great addition to the category that is the bladed jig. Comparing it to the Jackhammer is the same as comparing a shovel to a rake. Categorically they're both yard tools but have two different jobs. The SlobberKnocker excels in and around wood, colder water, and in the current. It's a truer tracking bladed jig and doesn't have the hunting action that people love about the Jackhammer. That being said that is what makes it superior in cold water and current situations I listed above. Also, the hinge that the blade attachment creates helps the SlobberKnocker to come through wood better than any other in my experience. This isn't a Jackhammer replacement but it is a must add to your bladed jig box.

From: Alex : TN 11/16/22

Comments: All of the attributes of this bladed jig come together to make it a bait the fish will eat. I've been using a 1/2oz BL for a couple of months on SC lakes and it has caught several bass out of both laydowns and pondweed. The blade/head design provides a different cadence that is unique to other bladed jigs and combined with the powerbait scented skirt makes this one a winner!

From: Coy: SC 11/10/22

Comments: Best bladed bait ever. You can fish around or in wood with no worries about hanging up absolutely amazing

From: Brian: AR 11/10/22

Comments: One word.....homerun. The best bladed jig I've ever used. Berkley really did their homework on this one. Great action, the Fusion hook is awesome and the keeper doesn't tear up the trailer. I see why it won best of show at ICAST.

From: Christopher: NC 11/9/22

Comments: No hunting action , hook was not sharp. Certainly not worth $14 , not sure I'd even pay $4.You're better off with the original Zman ,or Jackhammer, no question.

From: John: Sanford, FL 11/7/22

Comments: Not a huge fan outta the gate. Like the different vibrations this bait gives out but that's about it. Seems to hang on any little piece of grass and hookup has not been great. The jury is still out.

From: Andy: Michigan 10/7/22

Comments: Simply incredible how well this lure comes through cover! I fish some heavy stuff with it, all different kinds of weeds, and it gets through it all. Plus, the different vibration compared to others has really been shining for me.

From: Scott: Michigan 9/29/22

Comments: Comes through cover better than any other bladed jig I have fished, especially wood. I feel like I can skip it better as well. Really solid vibration and head contact. Trailer keeper doesn't slice the soft plastic. Great hook and even better colors. Slobberknocker will be my bladed jig of choice from this point forward!

From: Nate: South Carolina9/1/22

Comments: Don't leave it anywhere it gets warm. Bought it, put it in my center console with some other baits, next day opened the package and the skirt was melted together, all the other baits it was sitting with were just fine.

From: Greg: Georgia 8/29/22

Comments: Ok so have gotten to try this bladed early. It is over all very nice. Everything is quality and preforms well. Differences compared to other bladed Jigs is that is a softer vibration then other bladed jigs. The action is a tighter, more "humming" then a "thumping". Comes through vegetation well, through wood better then most, start up equal to higher end bladed jigs. With the Powerbait scent built into skirt seems to trigger strikes, judged only by not having followers compared to other bladed jigs I have fished that I have had follows to the boat. All and all I think is a great bait and could shine in colder water situations where a more intense vibration is not need it. Seems like other bladed jigs may shine more for muddy water situations. But over all very nice bait to fish.
