Hands down the best braid on the marketThis braid is unbelievably smooth — it adds distance to your casts, tightens up your accuracy, and practically eliminates wind knots. I’ve switched every reel I own over to X12. - 12 lb for FFS minnows, weightless flukes, and soft paddle tails - 20 lb for shakey heads, jerkbaits, and underspins - 30 lb & 50 lb on baitcasters for topwaters and frogs - 65 lb & 80 lb on my saltwater big‑game setups, strong enough for everything from snapper and grouper to mahi and tuna

Best casting braid I have ever usedI have been using this braid exclusively for 4 years now and if you value casting distance there is no other substitute. Thin, smooth, and cast a mile. I have thousands of fish come in my boat each year on the 12 and 20lb test lines and cannot remember an incident where the line failed. With proper spooling and a quality reel, wind knots are no more of an issue than with any other braid that I have used. I typically put 110 yds per reel, so I can get three 2500 to 3000 series reels with one spool of braid when paired with mono backing.

Thin Line Casts Far, Otherwise PassIncredibly thin diameter and casts very well. Lacks in strength and despite proper spooling (two separate times) it still gave wind knots in regular intervals. Very pricey for understrengthed line that has management issues.

Horrible strengthUse 15 power pro slick 8 tried this in 20 and broke off to many times to count. Multiple spools and same result on different rods. Broke on all of them never had any issues with power pro slick 8 or suffix 832.

Bulk spoolCast X12 is an excellent line. I use Cast X12 surffishing for striped bass and its smooth and casts further and no wind knots. I'm hoping some day they'll come out with a BULK SPOOL.

Cast BraidI use the 20lb on all of my spinning reels and the 30/50 on my baitcasters. It's incredibly smooth, casts extremely well, and comes through the guides on the rod extremely well (unlike other braids). I have had no issues with strength or wind knots and I've been using it for a couple of years now. I highly recommend trying it out!

If I could give 10 stars I would!I am a professional fishing guide in Florida and have been using cast X12 For over three years now. The very first time I use this braid it absolutely blew me away! What struck me first was the smoothness, ease of use, and how much farther I could cast! This braid casts up to 20% farther than anything else I have ever used. It was crazy! Since then, I have put this line to the test over three grueling seasons. We’ve caught countless big snook, gator, trout, and bull redfish on the flats with the 12lb X12 and have been able to pull some seriously big fish away from the mangroves/rocks with the 20lb! This line is incredibly STRONG and ABRASION RESISTANT for its size. Its smoothness greatly helps knots to cinch down knots properly for improved strength and ease! Still questioning its strength? Believe it or not, we have also caught not one but TWO tarpon on 65lb Cast X12 that measured to at or above the FL STATE RECORD of 244 pounds! Also, we regularly tied on a boat fender and sent the setup through the bridge with a tarpon on and picked the setup up on the other side to eventually land the fish more often than not! The entire time the line is running on a barnacle encrusted piling with little to no damage! Also just a few days ago, we caught A goliath grouper that was nearly 400 pounds on spinning gear with the 80lb X12. Needless to stay, it is incredibly STRONG! If it can hold up to the riggers of big, mean, hard fighting saltwater fish, it can certainly catch any bass out there. Other braids quickly lose their coating and start to get that “fur” after just a few uses. This braid does not! I’ve had some spools on my reels for over two years and though it is expectedly a little faded after extremely heavy use, the line itself still isn’t even starting to break down! No matter how much my clients twist the line after really in big fish all day against the drag, this line maintains its performance and is nearly impossible to wind knot! Other braids feel like you’re using ridged cable or rope but Cast X12 has an incredibly feathery soft feel and near zero memory, while maintaining serious strength! Wind knots used to be common and now they are virtually nonexistent, even with beginner clients in a strong wind! It is truly a game changer! Most of the time is something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. However, I’m telling you that this is not one of those situations. This stuff is truly incredible and I would put my entire professional reputation on it! Better yet, stay in your old ways and don’t buy a Cast X 12 braid. I’ll quietly keep casting 20% farther than you can while maintaining plenty of strength to wench them into the boat. More fish for me!

Great for everything but strengthForst all, line is small diameter. About half of what regular braid is. It casts great, BUT, it isnt strong at all. Spent the 50 dollar and got the 20lb version. Took it out this morning and hooked into 2 fish. Both fish broke the braid while pulling drag. These fish aware inland steipers in eastern Tennessee. But my 14lb braid has landed hundreds of these fish. This line is great for small fish. But won't waste my time with it again. Biggest waste of 50$. Cant handle any decent fish. Not even 15lb stripers

Proper spoolingHey Bmosbay, Thanks for the feed back. Sorry to hear about the line twist issues. Based on what you described, it actually sounds like the line might’ve been spooled on the reel a bit off, which can definitely cause wind knots and twist during casting. It’s totally fixable. If you’re up for it, we’d be happy to help walk you through the way to spool it up so it’s tight on the reel. Once it’s on right, you should have no issues. Shoot us an email anytime at [customerservice@castfishing.co] and we will help you dial it in Best, Ryan CAST Fishing Co.

line twist like crazy. Not impressed not a pro but I do fish a lot this line twist like crazy wind knots in mid air while casting I have sent pictures so my review can be verified. Overall, I love the color scheme, cast far, three hours I catch no bass so I switch to a high low rig. Put a shrimp on it. Catch a channel catfish about 5 1/2 pound line works very good. like I said line twist like crazy.
