Specifically designed to assist anglers in tying a line-to-line FG connection knot, the Daiichi Seiko Knot Assist Tool 2.0 makes tying the complicated FG knot a simple and speedy process. Featuring a heavy-duty carbon fiber reinforced plastic construction with a strong internal spring system, the Daiichi Seiko Knot Assist Tool 2.0 provides tension and a sure grip on your main line, tag line, and leader material, which is often a point of failure and the most complicated part of tying an effective FG knot. It can also be stored with the arms closed and locked in place so that anglers can easily store it in a tackle bag or boat compartment without taking up too much space. Comments: This tool was a game changer for me. The most difficult aspect with tying FG knots is keeping the braid and leader taut the entire time while focusing on tying the knot. It wasn't until after I bought this Knot Assist Tool 2.0 over a year ago that I could successfully tie an FG knot from my braid to a fluorocarbon leader. It's compact design can be held in one hand while you use the other to tie the knot and it absolutely just locks down the braid and fluoro which keeps them both consistently tight for a proper FG knot. Highly recommended for anybody who's a fan of the FG knot. It saves you a lot of time and wasted line from poorly tied knots!

Comments: I love this thing for assisting with FG knots but this thing is really bad at tying them as intended. I found it very clunky to get enough pressure on the wraps and easy to ruin the knot when finishing up braids and transitioning to the whips through inconsistent pressure. HOWEVER, it is exceptionally good at holding onto the fine braid when tightening the knot. A couple of figure 8s between two of the pads and I can pull as hard as I want with zero fuss or pain. Works great for that.
