Comments: Beautiful reel. Long casts, buttery smooth drag and light weight. A+

From: Dave: Western Pa 8/14/23

Comments: This reel is a gem. I own reels up and down the Daiwa cost spectrum, including several JDM Daiwa reels, and the new Procyon MQ is a really special reel. It is incredible smooth when turning the handle with a really light start up, is an easy casting reel with great distance, a drag that is reliable and consistent and has a very connected/rugged feel when fighting fish. I like this reel so much so, that I am replacing my Kage MQs with this reel as the Procyon is a much better smoother casting reel than the Kage is. And the color combo is rare in today's reel market, ie silver and blue. My only grip is the foolish deep spool on these reels. WAY TOO MUCH line needed to fill the spool, but this ins't a Procyon issue, this is a Daiwa issue as they do this for a majority of their US market reels. Just dumb. Shallow spool offering please Daiwa. That said, for the price, Daiwa hit this one out of the park.
