The Dirty Jigs Guppy Swimbait Jig Head is designed for fishing small swimbaits and the vertical jigging technique that dominated the 2017 B.A.S.S. Elite Series tournament held on Cherokee Lake. The Guppy Head is built around either a 1/0 or 3/0 extra sharp 90-degree line tie VMC hook. Its 90-degree jig head design allows for a perfectly horizontal lure position, making it the ideal jighead for vertical jigging, as well as, other small swimbait applications.
The stacked cone keeper also holds your soft plastic swimbait in place using surface tension and friction, giving you a tear-less keeper design that helps prolong the life of your soft plastic swimbait. Hook bends out too muchLove these paired with my 2.8” swim baits problem is I can only boat about 60% of my fish as the hook shank straightens out to often on So Cal bay bass. We aren't talking giants we are talking 10-16” fish sometimes these jig heads are one and done. They get bit but always a gamble if the shank will hold up to land a fish. Need same profile beefier hook. Still looking.
Used to be good! Changed hooks.It pains me to write this because these were my go to baits. They changed the hooks about a year ago and they’re not the same bait. I’ve had more fished come unpinned with these baits over the past three months than every other bait from my life combined. These went from being my ultimate confidence bait to be tossed in the trash can.
Amazing PerformanceI bought a few packs to use with Alabama Rigs and I extremely pleased with their performance. I failed to bend the hooks out even under large amounts of force. The heads themselves show up really easily on forward facing sonar and the paint and clear coat last forever.
Great jig head but…This is a great jig head and I do recommend it but with a couple of warnings. One, the hooks seem smaller than advertised. For example, the 1/0 hook is the same size as a #2 from my tackle box, and the 3/0 hook is the same size as a 1/0 hook. Two, I agree with another reviewer that a slightly scaled down barb keeper would be nicer and easier to rig, in my opinion.
Close but not thereI like the look and action I can get with these finesse heads BUT I find myself constantly having to push the bait back up on the collar or add super glue. If they would put a scaled down light wire barb keeper under the collar, similar to the tactical finesse heads but sized appropriately, it would be spot on. And yes, they were using gam hooks on these in the past. VMCs now? Cost saving production measure I guess...
As AdvertisedGreat Jig head holds bait on with no glue needed. Worth the money hooks are laser sharp and don’t bend out.
Great HeadGreat little jig head. The hooks are sharp and stay that way for many many fish.
Great except the hookI could’ve swore these used to have a Gamakatsu hooks in them. Either way, the hooks in them now last one snag or a handful of fish before the point rolls. Apart from thatc it has great head shape, great bait keeper but the hook is meh and for that reason alone I’m looking elsewhere. Have been really digging the Gamakatsu newer ball heads with the wire weed guards.

Comments: I never do reviews but these are the BEST jighead for a 2.8-3.3 Keitech with the 1/0 hook. This style keeper, keeps the Keitechs on better than any other I've used besides a screwlock. The perfect combination of light wire and strong with the Gamakatsu hook. Look no further for a 2.8 Keitech head.

Comments: High quality, I like the head shape around rocks. Keep your rod tip up and it rarely snags compared to ball heads. The hook is not stout but is crazy sharp.

Comments: Another Dirty Jigs swing and miss for me as I got these in the same order as some of the tactical finesse jigheads. Another really well made jighead that catches fish, and these ones are just the right size for what what I personally consider finesse. But when I see these jigheads, the first thing I think of is 3" easy shiners and 2.8" fat impacts, and a 3" easy shiner isn't going to survive going over this collar. Just like the tactical finesse heads, I had to cut the collar off to make this jighead work for me. Zman terminal tackle doesn't dazzle me, but their 1/12oz finesse swimbait head is all but the same as these once I put the effort into removing the collar, so I see no reason to buy more of these. Great head for some perhaps. Definitely not the one for me

Comments: I've been a small swimbait junkie for almost 10 years. I recently started fishing this jig head and the 2.8 Keitech fat. I stayed away for a while because I saw a lot of dudes fishing this rig, but wow. It gets bites. I was skipping it under brush with no glue to hold the head down and the bait stayed rigged. Buy a pack if you are thinking about trying these and see if they are your thing.

Comments: eh, it's ok. I wouldn't buy it again though for the price. Just wanted to see if it's just like any other jig and it is. Don't let the appearance fool you. It is fragile as many say and you need to add a protective clear coat. otherwise, all the paint start chipping off... from casting. What can I say, I was young and dumb with money burning my pocket so did what any 20yr old did...

Comments: These jigs have great, sharp, light-wire hooks that are suited for medium action rods. I wouldn't try to use anything larger than a 3.25" swimbait on them. The baitkeeper is so-so and will bust up some plastics. I've opened a few jigs where they used too much epoxy on the heads and clogged the eye, so I had to take them home and use a lighter to melt it off. I usually use Zman finesse eyez, but these guppy jigs do a comparable job at a slightly higher price.

Comments: I love the appearance of these jig heads and they match up well with my Keitech swim baits. I do have one issue with them and that is I find that the hooks break very easily. I have found this to be problem regardless of Jig head size. I use them with caution and will be looking for some alternatives.

Comments: I love these jig heads paired with a Keitech Fat. The short shank on the 1/0 hook allows the body of the swimbait to really kick at slow speeds. Use a little super glue on the bait keeper to secure the swimbait to the jig head. These jig heads paired with a Keitech are multi-species fish catchers - bass, walleye, crappie - they'll all eat one.

Comments: These jigs would be way better with a bait keeper that doesn't start allowing the swimbait to slip after a few casts. 2.75/2.8 size swimbaits are fragile enough as it is without a gaping hole being created in the nose. Instead of 6.99 for just 3 jigs, I will stick with the Gamakatsu Round Jig Heads that have the exact same hook, and a better bait keeper, and you get 5 jigs for 5.99.

Comments: This is the gold standard for fishing the damiki rig or slow rolling small swimbaits. It's remarkably good at getting through rock when fished along the bottom, and gives swimbaits a realistic look. I've had some of my best smallmouth days on the great lakes and other natural smallmouth impoundments on these. Matt Stefan, you knocked it out of the park with this one.

Comments: Best jig head on the market ! The bait keeper is great don't listen to other people in comments they probably don't know what there doing. Use the 1/0 / 1/8 on 2.8 Keitech or gambler little TZ and you'll catch anything that swims if there are fish biting. If you want to up size use 3/0/ 1/4 oz on a 3.3 Keitech and you can cast that on a bait caster or spinning gear.

Comments: I was excited to get these with the 1/0 hooks to use with smaller swimbaits. They do catch fish but the baits won't stay on after a few fish or a lot of strong casts so the lack of a real bait keeper is a deal breaker. I have to glue on my baits to get them to stay on. It's pretty frustrating. If they took the time to add a real bait keeper this thing would be well worth the money.

Comments: i love these jig heads, paired them up with keitech 3.3 perch colored swimbait and caught 3 walleye almost as soon as i got to the lake, unfortunately i casted 2 of them into a log or rock out in the middle of the lake and broke off, but i am still going to get more because fish stay pinned with these hooks

Comments: The Dirty Jigs guppy head is a fish catcher. I just started fishing the 1/8 oz blue shad paired with a 2.8 Keitech Fat Swing Impact about 4 months ago. This setup has caught 10-20 fish for me on several different lakes on multiple occasions. It is rare to hook up with a monster but a fish on the line is fun no matter what. Works really well for spotted bass and smallmouth but will catch largemouth as well as other species.

Comments: This is a good jighead for a Keitech FAT Swing Impact swimbait. The stacked cone keeper does less damage to your baits than a wire keeper. Wire keepers cut your swimbaits, and you get only one chance at correctly rigging them. I like "Naked Shad" as it goes with everything. I started buying these from TW for two reasons: 1) Convenience, as I buy so much from TW, and 2) the Gamakatsu hook. Prior to buying these, I was buying round jigheads from Lunker City. Their jigheads have a terrific cone keeper; the hooks are okay. Good luck.

Comments: These jig heads are the best for fishing small swimbaits. Especially when targeting big smallmouth. I've caught numerous 5-6 lb smallies fishing these jig heads. Also one of the best a-rig heads I have ever used. Give them a try. Well worth the money.

Comments: I was a little skeptical that the bait keeper would work as well as a wire keeper but I've found it holds better and love it. The hook is super sharp and fits my favorite swimbaits. Overall it's a great swimbait head.
