Overview
Delivering the deadly action of a hand-made jig, the Dobyns Football Jigs are built to the specs of profession bass angler, Gary Dobyns, who has claimed over a 100 major tournament victories on the West Coast. Featuring a football head shape that easily crawls over rocks and other hard structure, they also feature a hand-tied skirt with a combination of round rubber and premium silicone for a more natural flowing action.
The Dobyns Football Jigs are built around a razor sharp Gamakatsu 604 Round Bend Hook, which has been Gary’s favorite jig hook for almost 20 years because of its superior hook penetration. Each jig is also equipped with a special four-barbed keeper system that holds soft plastic trailers firmly in place without the need for glue, as well as, chip resistant paint jobs that can withstand the abuse of dragging over jagged structures. Comments: Possibly the best football jig overall and for the money. Ton of sizes, semi compact profile, good bait keeper, hand tied, Gamakatsu hook, what else do you need? I do wish they offered a shad color (without half chartreuse), but that's all I would ask. The 3/8 non skirted football heads are great for Hula grubs/creature baits too, Dobyns makes a good jig/jighead.

Comments: My new favorite jig I love the Gamkatsu hooks. Awesome colors and my favorite thing there's room to add rattleband all jigs that don't come with rattles should add rattlebands or allow room to add them where it doesn't affect your keeper all at a great price point.

Comments: Got my TW order by UPS this AM and took a few of my new baits out for a test run this PM. The first thing I tied on was the Dobyns football jig in 3/8 oz to probe the flooded rip rap near the bank. This jig went to work and I didn't bother trying anything else. Four fish with no misses in an hour in a portion of the river I'm not really familiar with. I consider the hook to be a tad small even for our smallmouth, but the ingenious trailer keeper more than makes up for it. Four feisty smallies, brush, rock and the typical river bottom hangups of an urban area and the trailer never moved. What bothers me more than sliding trailers down on a jig are twisted trailers after going through brush and rock. Ruins the entire presentation of the jig without even being aware of it. Didn't happen. I've already got more sizes and and colors written down for on my next TW shopping order. Outstanding.

Comments: Very nice jigs! The line tie is recessed and will lead to fewer hang ups and the weed guard isn't too thick like on on some others. The hook is nice and sharp and the color is great.

Comments: Finally a jig with a keeper that actually holds those brittle salt filled baits like a beaver. I used to go through bags of baits when the jig bite is on. Pair any of the 1/2 oz dark colors at night with a 746 Dobyns Extreme and hold on! 3 packs are also the best idea ever. Who needs just 1??

Comments: I live on the lake night fishing and this jig in 3/4 and 1/2 is a mainstay. The skirt material is definitely bulkier than other jigs helping move more water. I also love using beaver style trailers which tend to fall apart on standard jigs. With the keeper on this jig I get way more use out of the trailer. The keeper is actually the exact same design as the Dobyns swimbait hooks!

Comments: I use the 3/8oz here in DE for pitching wood and dragging around points and fallen trees, and it's my secret weapon! Pair it up with a z craw or speed craw and its $$, I use a colt 734, a Curado 201k hg, and 50lb pp to 20lb red label, I've got about 30 fish over 2lbs on it in the last 2 weeks I've had it! If ur not sold yet, just don't buy it:)

Comments: Being from California, I love a jig with some living rubber. It's hard to find a good jig out there with good components, good colors, and a good profile. This dobyns jig is the deal excellent colors and great quality overall. Love the skirt and the head design. Definitely will be buying more in the 3 bulk packs

Comments: Ive been pouring my own jigs for several years now. I had always been unsatisfied with the quality of hooks, keepers, and pricing on most jigs. You shouldn't have to pay $5-6 to a get a jig with a great hook and good bait keeper. Thus I pour my own.But this one here, Gary Dobyns knocked out a great football jig. Awesome keeper, Gami 604 hook (best overall jig hook made imo), and a great value for under $4. Also, great "West Coast" colors schemes...well blended mixes of living rubber and silicone that are the deal in clear water. No generic PBJ or plain green pumpkin here...just good stuff. Also, a 3 pack value is sweet.

Comments: Best jig I've ever used. I love the mixed skirt material. The hook keeper is like nothing I have ever fished. No need to put superglue on your baits to keep them down. Wish they made more jigs with different head shapes and colors. 9.5/10
