Comments: These are great reels. Very smooth and cast a mile. They do require some adjusting but once you get the spool tension and brakes dialed they are money!

Comments: I love this baitcasting reel. I bought a 7.2 in blue for frog fishing. This thing casts like a dream! Very easy to adjust reel settings and has power to spare. I am a fan of Dobyns rods and will now be adding more Dobyns reels to my arsenal. Quality is great! Not only at an affordable price but great in general. The Dobyns team has hit a homerun with this one. Gary Dobyns knows bass fishing inside and out and knows how to apply that knowledge to whatever he brings to market. KUDOS Gary

Comments: I purchased this reel because I like my Dobyns rod so much. And the interviews I have seen with Mr. Dobyns always impressed me. I figured he would not put out a crappy reel. So I ordered one. Sadly, the first one I got was defective. I contacted customer service and they sent me a label to return it. The first one did not impress me at all. Reminded me of the cheap Runcl reels I got off of Amazon. In fact, they felt even better at over half the price. But when I got the new one, it felt so much better. Maybe it was in my head but even the build quality seemed better on the new one. I have fished with it a few times. It is so smooth. I have had to adjust it differently than my other baitcasters because it is so smooth and free spinnin g, it backlashes easily. But with even more tension on the adjustments than what seems to be on my Daiwa and Runcls, it still outcasts them. But only a little bit more than my Tatula CT I love my Daiwa Tatula CT. I think the Daiwa is slightly better built. Or maybe it is my love for that reel and Daiwa's that makes me think that. But all those extra bearings in the Maveric do make a difference. I recently caught my PB largemouth bass of 4 1/2 pounds. Due to the location and situation I had to fight it longer than you normally would until help arrived of a guy nearby. The drag and my Dobyns Fury 705 CB performed very well and we were able to land it. It fits my small hands better than my other reels. When I save up enough for another reel I will consider the Maveric again.

Comments: I got a pair, 6.5 and 7.2. Great tolerances. Nice fits, easy off side plate, excellent ergonomics. Nice and tight a perfect length handle and grips. Easy mag control adjustment. Super quick spool start up. Pitching perfect. Messed a few minutes with the spool control nob to balance out the mag cast for broader up and down adjustments and cast was smooth with a touch of thumb. A very solid tight build with a comfortable platform. Great buy!
