Overview

Please Note: Duckett Rods does not provide Line & Lure ratings.

Staying true to their pro driven philosophy, the new and improved Duckett Micro Magic Pro Casting Rods offer the same winning actions and performance of the originals - now with some key improvements.

Designed on the Micro Guide Concept for an overall lighter rod, as well as, significantly improved casting distance and accuracy, the micro guides also offer a substantial improvement in balance and sensitivity. The new proprietary 0.7mm Artus High Gauge 316SS Ring Lock Micro Guides with hyper-lite braid-proof inserts deliver increased durability, and also feature a new double-foot elevated stripper guide that adds additional strength and facilitates a smoother transition of the line from the reel for increased casting distance and accuracy.

Advanced Sensi-Touch blanks made from the highest quality multi-modulus pre-pegs create an extremely lightweight and durable rod, and each blank is also halo-sanded for increased strength and improved sensitivity. The team at Duckett Rods also painstakingly balanced each rod in the series. Balancing a rod correctly makes the tip lighter, and therefore allows the rod position to be more easily displaced - translating into increased sensitivity. Comfort grip Fuji reel seats form a lightweight, ergonomic base for your reel, and premium cork grips deliver all day comfort. Back and better than ever, the Duckett Micro Magic Pro Casting Rods have what it takes for serious tournament fishing.

-For rod replacements within 1-year of purchase, customer must show proof of purchase or Duckett Rods will charge a $40 replacement fee. Comments: Despite QC issues that so many have had with these rods, I am a fan and own several. Just picked up a 7'3" MH/F to replace an original White Ice in the same power/length/action. These are Kigan guides, not Microwave guides as stated. The guides themselves are not straight on the rod I got. Each leans or twists in a different direction like crooked teeth. The blanks are what brings me back every time: Light, sensitive, etc. If you really enjoy the feel of Duckett rods this one is right on par minus the QC stuff, which seems to be a total crap shoot with Duckett. 7/10

From: Unknown: Petaluma, CA

Comments: This is by far my favorite rod on the market. I have the 7' MH that I primarily use for soft plastics and finesse jigs. I am looking to add the 7'6 H to pair with my new 13 Concept A reel. These rods are durable and last a long time. Very sensitive and lightweight and cast like a dream with the right setup. They workhorse type rods and will standup to any cover that may be present. For as small as they are, they are strong, which I love.

From: Ryan: Missouri 7/21/20

Comments: I never owned a Duckett because I kept hearing about durability issues. I decided to try this rod after having to replace one I shut in car door. First thing I noticed is how sensitive this rod is! It's just as sensitive as rods twice the price tag. I haven't had any durability issues either. I'll probably get another soon.

From: Thomas: Michigan 6/6/20

Comments: Build my own rods using rainshadow and mhx blanks.I tryed one of these cuz I have a fishing rod problem.I have alot of money tied up in custom rods,I have the 6'6" med & mh/these rods/components blanks are legit.I have beat them to death in a saltwater environment with no failures.Very sensitive for price point very fun to fish.I honestly could stop building rods these fit the bill for me.10 stars

From: Michael: Ormond Beach 5/9/20

Comments: I beat the living hell out of my 7' MH and have never broke 1 eye or snapped 1 rod. This rod throws anything and everything. Buy with confidence.

From: Colton: NH 10/11/19

Comments: I have several duckett rods ghost terex and micro magic pro. Have not had any problems over 5 yrs. I got the 7'10" extra heavy last year. using it to flip and punch heavy mats it as not let me down. Might be my new favorite flipping rod. I have the 7' medium heavy as one of my all around rods. The 7' heavy rods are a good all around rod too. Although i usually throw frogs, jigs, texas rigs, and larger spinnerbaits with those. I have several more but those are probably my most used ones. There all good rods for there purposes.

From: Dan: Pa  2/22/19

Comments: I own numerous Duckett rods, from jerkabait, spinnerbait, worm/jig, flipping and crankbait! I am an avid angler and used the rods throughout several years in many conditions! Through the years of fishing no other rods I have used are more sensitive and set up for the fisherman in mind than Ducketts! They are comfortable, light, sensitive and extremely affordable! I read reviews of problems on all rods but for me personally only two rods have failed me during tournaments one broke at the tip and one at the reel seat. I currently have 15 Duckett Rods on my boat and they are always my go to rod and I continue to have a great deal of confidence in the rods! Thanks for great products and I encourage anyone at any level of fishing to buy and try any of the Duckett series! You will be impressed!

From: Clark - Harold, KY 12/1/18

Comments: I have never written a review on a product, but feel obligated to warn people about these rods.  3 years ago I change all my rods to Duckett producers.  14 total, mostly being this model.  The rods are sensitive, and fish well, but the guides a pure garbage.  From loading inserts, to breaking off, to snapping tips.  Not only did I spend a couple grand with Duckett purchasing the rods, I have also spent hundreds more at my local tackle store replacing guides.  I seriously recommend a different product.

From: Fred: South Carolina 3/8/18

Comments: I bought two of these rods this year. 7'3" MH and 7'M. These are by far the lightest rods I have picked up. I fish 2-3 times a week sometimes more. I fish sun up to sun down and I can put one rod in my hand all day and never feel the need to put it down from fatigue. I've compared this rod the the st croix avid x, G. Loomis E6X, and many other rods and I'd say it's the best rod I have. From now on every rod I buy will be a Micro Magic Pro

From: Jared: Missouri 12/25/17

Comments: I own 7 of these rods and i havent had a problem yet. Pulled in multiple 5 plus pounders wit these. I broke one guide but it was my fault caught in a door. Rod didnt break guide only broke when i tried to straighten it.

From: Unknonwn 11/16/17

Comments: So i will make this short, purchased 2 of the original Duckett micros and never had an issue..( i fish every day). So the time had come where i needed more rods and reels, went right to Duckett and ordered 3 more. The micro pro has much stronger eye inserts then the previous model and the tip is way more brolic. Also the butt is EVA foam as well as the first eye now being reinforced.... The blanks them selfs seems to be the same, Heavy is for punching and feels like a broom stick..i have 2 7' MH and use them for worming and well all around everything...i have a 6.6 M that i use for cranks and its like a wet noodle.. so,as most people have said in the past..there very over rated...if you like stiff then go H if you need a cranking rod with a mod tip then a 7' MH would be my choice. All in all im liking the new improved rods and in 5 years have not broken 1 rod..i fish everyday!!

From: Olman: Swfl 11/16/17

Comments: When It comes to rods the first one I'll pick up is going to be a Duckett Micro Magic. They're light, ultra sensitive on bites, and they just look good. The only problem I have with them is they are not durable what so ever. I own about a dozen of these rods and about half of them a guide has broken off. Not even the tips, a guide somewhere in the center! I've shut my mouth long enough about this due to how much I love these but about a week ago I set the hook on a bass and ANOTHER guide broke! You could here the ring and my go pro caught everything on film. You can say whatever you want about my care for the rods but if I'm not fishing with them there is a rod sock on it and a cover on the reel. I'd be crazy for not taking the best care of these things with the $160 price tag attached. And the worst part about it is that tips and guides are not covered by the warranty (stated in the last sentence of the first paragraph on the website warranty page). If you're not someone who is goi
ng to treat your rod like an egg shell (which I do and they still break) than I would think a bit before purchasing one of these rods. Until Duckett can make the guides a little more durable I will find another rod of choice. My suggestion is to have a guide that can be wrapped from the top and bottom and not only the bottom side. Thanks

From: Jason: College Station, Texas 11/2/17

Comments: This rod belongs in the bottom of the lake it is just complete trash what ever you do don't buy them. The guides are trash and break off so easy and the rod is super weak.Just dont buy them.

From: Unknown 9/1/17

Comments: Duckett makes fantastic rods, weightless, ultra sensitive and unbeatable.    its ducketts or bust for me.   hands down, they have the best customer service in the industry.

From: Unknown 7/18/17

Comments: Broke three of these rods already. Thankfully with ducketts good customer service they are going to send me a new white ice that won't break.

From: Brayden: West Virginia 6/30/17

Comments: I own about 20 of these and duckett rods will be the only rods I will ever own. No I am not sponsored by them I am actually sponsored by Lews but I buy these rods out of pocket and pair them with Lews custom speed spool reels and it is the best set up I have ever owned. The price, durability and action of these rods are an amazing combination. I have broke a couple but it was absolutely my fault like slapping it with another rod on a cast or stepping on it during a fish catch and they will replace for just 20 bucks shipping. As long as you have the receipt and its within the warranty period. Even if you  don't have both of those its still only like 60 bucks. cant beat it.

From: Anthony - 6/28/17

Comments: I bought this rod a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it.  I paired it up with the Abu Garcia Revo S with 30lb power pro braid and it is the perfect jig rod.  I also own the ghost XL and the Terrex and this defiantly beats both hands down.  I would defiantly recommend trying this rod out you will love it.

From: Unknown 5/22/17

Comments: I own 6 of these rods and they are some of the best for the price. Lightweight, durable, and are super sensitive. It took me a little getting used to the white rod but looks are great too.The 7' heavy is probably my favorite rod to pitch soft plastics and jigs in heavy cover.

From: Dan: PA 3/8/17

Comments: Extremely light and sensitive. Durability is an issue, but they will replace a broken rod for $60 or less. Make sure to use a rod sock to protect the microguides. A little stiff compared to other rods of the same rating. IE MH is stiffer than my Dobyns MHs etc. Same for heavy.

From: Jeremy: Dallas TX 11/20/16

Comments: I've had this rod for quite some time now and it's an amazing rod. I have a 7'3" mh and you can do just about anything with it. It looks great, it's very sensitive and light weight. I've never had a problem with the guides or anything on the rod. I think the action and power are spot on and I plan on buying more of these rods.

From: Nathan: Plano, TX 11/3/16

Comments: Bought a 7'3 med heavy at my local bait store. Took it to a lake in my neighborhood & caught a few 3-5 lbers then hooked into a 7 to 9 lb bass that pulled me around in my kayak. The rod held up perfectly. Hook sets were perfect & the rod just looks so good.

From: Drake: USA 5/23/16

Comments: I own several of these rods & for my money I haven't found a better value, sure there are rods that are more sensitive & lighter but you'll pay 400 bucks or more for them. I have read some other reviews of people breaking poles while setting the hook on a fish & I'm calling BS on that. I set the hook as hard as anybody on this planet & never have had one break, I even got hung on a limb in about 20 foot of water & actually broke a 7 foot section of that limb off & pulled it to the surface, it probably weighed 15 pounds so in my experience these rods are plenty tough & you have to be seriously doing stupid things to it to break it.

From: Fishing Problems: McDonough, GA 5/5/16

Comments: I own 8 of the old MM's & it is now the only rod I use. Absolutely love the feel & the hook set. I fish mainly rivers & these rods take some serious abuse all the way from jamming them down in the water to retrieve a snagged chatter or spinner to getting all bent & knocked around in the trees close to the banks. GREAT rods!

4/22/16

Comments: I fished with a guide down at Guntersville who was sponsored by Duckett rods & after that trip, I bought three 7' Heavy Micro Magic rods. These rods are in a league of their own & for the price you can't get anything better. They're extremely light & ridiculously sensitive. The only problem I've had is that one of the guides came off of the rod, but I just don't think micro guides in general are as durable as regular guides.

From: Shaun: Guntersville, AL 12/19/15

Comments: I purchased the 7' MH about 6 months ago, and so far it is a decent rod. Although is light and looks sweet, the finish scratches very easily & there are cheaper rods that are more sensitive. I believe you should by a 13 fishing omen black, and with the money you saved, invest in a nicer reel.

From: Charlie: MO 12/14/15

Comments: this rod right here is by far one of the best rods on the market. It easily surpasses most 300 dollar plus rods. No other company can make rods that are as good as a duckett for this price.

From: Robbie: GA 9/24/15

Comments: Let me first say Duckett makes a fairly light rod with decent components at a reasonable price. As a rod builder I know what quality looks like and ducketts miss the mark. I personally have owned two ducketts rods that I snapped both while setting the hook. Some common issues I see with Ducketts is guides pulling out, the butt grips breaking off, and loose reel seats. But more commonly then none I get a lot of broken rods come that customers give me to reuse components. Ducketts just don't last the blanks they use have very thin walls to keep the weight down but the trade off is durability there more susceptible to breaking. Im not trying to bash Duckett just trying to get the truth out there I see many ducketts throughout the year that have just not held up.

From: Matt: TN 8/3/15

Comments: I'm very impressed with this rod I've have it for about 2 months p and caught over a hundred bass on it. Supper sensitive and just all around amazing rod. I got the 6'6" micro magic PRO paired with a Shimano Chronarch Ci4+ this is the dream setup light, powerful, and sensitive

From: Keagan: Harrisburg, PA 5/19/15

Comments: I own 4, and I don't hate them, but I don't love them. They are fairly light, but are underwhelming in power and sensitivity. I use mine mostly for moving baits as the sensitivity is just not there for t-rigs, senkos, jigs, or c-rigs.

From: Brandon: Denton, TX 5/16/15

Comments:  Just got the 6'6" medium for jerk baits in from TW yesterday, this rod is SUPER light I could not believe it when I picked it up it is just as light as the shimano expride or even less, the rod is very durable and is just perfect. I have it paired with a Shimano Chronarch Ci4+

From: Keagan: Harrisburg, PA 4/16/15

Comments: I have several micro magic rods and love them!! Sensitivity, tons of back bone and they load up on fish just right!! I just bought a micro magic pro recently and they're even better!! I just sold 2 rods from other brands so I can get another duckett!

From: Kevin: TN 4/15/15

Comments: bought the 7ft MH a week and a half ago, first impression extremely light, examined the rod from butt to tip and everything was perfect. Micro guides were straight and sturdy which was my big concern. I paired it with also brand new revo sx 3rd gen. it was super light and very well balanced. Took it out this weekend and it cast a mile....

From: Krtstrt: CA 2/22/15

Comments: I bought my first duckett ghost rod last fall and loved it. Since then I have bought one white ice flippin rod and 3 micro magic pros and another ghost. The micro magic pro is the lightest and most balanced rod I have found yet. Great Purchase.

From: Aaron: OH 2/12/15

Comments: Just got the rod, although I have not used it yet it looks awesome. I got the 7 ft med hvy for jigs and spinnerbaits. I have a micro magic and was wondering how they could possibly improve from the micro magic. The rod is extremely light and seems even more sensitive than the original micro magic.

From: Ben: GA 2/6/15

Comments: There great rods. There's always going to be those people that can find a way to break any rod, it could be an ugly stick or a St. Croix they will find a way. Its 99% of the time owner error why rods break.

From: Eddie: Bonaire, GA 1/30/15

Comments: All I can say is this is one of the best rods I have owned. It is way stronger than any other rod out there. I have a 7' Med Hvy with a lews bb1 pro and the balance is unreal it's microguides have pinpoint accuracy and allow you to cast way farther.

From: Mark: Middleburg, FL 1/20/15

Comments: guides bend easily and when you go to bend them back, they break. my 7'6" snapped on a hookset on a 8lber, they sent me a 7'10" as a replacement and after an hour of use, the blank started spinning through the reel seat. My buddy had a 7'10" snap on him and it almost took his eye out. and i know of local guys here that snap this things too easy. Literally go with anything else.

From: Matt: FL 1/12/15

Comments: I love this rod. I bought two, a 6' 6" for spinnerbaits, and a 7' Extra Heavy for frogging. They both are phenomenal. The tip is great and the guides are tough! Even better than the original Micro Magic, and they will not break!

From: Bryce: AR 1/8/15

Comments: Let me first say I am a duckett fan. I got 4 MM rods, 3 WI rods and 1MM PRO rod. These Micro Magic Pro Rods seem more sensitive then the old MM rod and WI rods. I bought one of these rod around a month ago. These rods intend to break 18-22 inches from the tip down. On my first trip out it broke 19 inches from the tip down on a hookset using a 5/8 lipless. I shipped it back and when I received my 2nd rod i took it out and it too broke 21 inches from the tip down on a 2 lbs smallie using a 3/8 weight texas rig. i'm still waiting for my new or 3rd rod to be shipped. For anyone who is thinking about buying these rods, i'll wait a few month before doing so. Hope it just a bad batch and if not hope they get this issue resovled.(customer service was real good, but you do have to make 3-4 attempts before they answer).

From: Dre: CA 1/7/15

Comments: Amazing rod! Ducketts are the way to go with out a doubt! sensitivity on this rod is amazing decting the lightest bites. No wonder this rod won Icast best fresh water rod of 2014. First time out caught a 5 1/2 on a jerk bait and the 7ft medium rod held up perfect!

From: Garrett: AL 1/2/15

Comments: Bought the 7'6" (Heavy) to drag football heads around. Amazing sensitivity and power! I am sold on Duckett and will be buying many more!
