Quality frogHas quickly become my go-to popping frog. Walks great, bloops great, and simply draws a lot of strikes. Hook up ratio is fantastic, and while I don't like to downplay other people's opinions, if you think this doesn't collapse well or has bad hook positioning, I'd love to see what your opinion of good would actually be. Almost every fish has been absolutely pinned, and we're talking triple digits of fish landed at this point, not a handful on a couple trips. The silicone on the bottom will pop loose, sometimes after one fish, but I haven't had any issues with the frog filling with water once it is loose. I have no connection to Gambler whatsoever. Just someone who loves frog fishing and trying out new frogs. This is a great one.

One of the best frogs I’ve usedThis frog has caught me a lot of fish this year on the Chesapeake bay. From frogging thick cover for bass; to catching teen LB size northern snakehead. It does it all. I’ve read some of the recent reviews of this frog complaining about the rattles and hooks. The rattles are tiny ball bearings. They aren’t a rattle chamber. They make plenty of noise and do not interfere with the frog collapsing correctly. As far as the hook; genuinely don’t think you could get a better hook. It pins them every time. They are even hard to get out by hand most of the time. Not to mention they bury themselves into the rock solid mouth of a northern snakehead with ease. I also noticed a comment mentioning the only good reviews are from people with affiliation to the brand. I do not have affiliation to the brand. If people would like to continue to buy spro frogs, have to boil them to soften them up, replace the skirt material for the legs after 3 months, and hope you actually get both hooks into the fish. By all means. Whatever floats your boat. But I highly recommend buying a frog with great hook up ratio with no changes or modifications needed such as the gambler frog.

Good Brand Not So Good FrogI love Gambler products for the most part, this frog isn’t one of them. The rattles are poor quality, was looking forward to a frog I wouldn’t have to insert my own into—this isn’t it. Doesn’t collapse the best and the hook placement isn’t good. Any review you see that says “best on the market” comes from someone in some way affiliated with the product. I just care about catching fish—not the hollow body frog market. The colors available are awesome—don’t fall for them like I did.

Must have in every tackle box! This frog is going to be a staple! Durability is great! You can catch 20+ fish until they start looking beat up! The hook is sharp and strong not sure of the brand. Rattle, probably needs to be upgraded but add another rattle and you are good to go. Now let’s talk about where the weight is on the frog. It’s placed perfect and allows you to have much more hook gap compared to other frogs in the popping category. If you don’t want bruised ribs than don’t buy this frog.

Soft, pre-modified and walks like a dreamI’ve been throwing the Gambler Popping frog since release and I gotta say I’m blown away. High hook up percentage thanks to the soft body and razor sharp hooks, internal rattles and a profile that makes it really easy to walk made this my go to frog from here on out. This frog casts like a rocket and has landed bass in FL, GA, and AL so far this season.

Pre modded and walks so easy!I really like my new Gambler Popping Frog. It walks super easy and also sits back in the water which makes the popping action more pronounced with that nice bubble. Components are solid and it's nice to have the rattles already in there and the body is super soft - not sure what the other review was talking about.

Best frog availableI am no one special, but I have won some money on a frog or two. This is by far the best frog on the market. It fishes perfect, right out of the box. Colors are spot on, mylar in the tail gets more bites, rattle adds a worthy difference. This frog was well thought out by some of the best hammers on Lake Okeechobee and it was winning tournaments while still in the development stages.

Not the Gambler You Would ExpectI was excited for the launch of these frogs. I love Gambler products and fishing in Florida for many years, I buy just about every frog from every brand. This frog is not your typical Gambler quality. It’s not great at all. The frog itself is pretty hard, stiff and doesn’t collapse very well. The hook placement isn’t great either in my opinion. There is a pretty large gap underneath between the bait and the frog. There is a tiny gob of silicone around the hole, which isn’t going to stick for long. One good Florida bass will wreck that configuration. And maybe the most disappointing part is the rattles that I was so looking forward to as I have been adding rattles to frogs for many years. A couple little plastic BB’s. Whoopee do, my worm rattles make more noise than these do. They don’t make any sound at all once the tiniest bit of water gets inside the frog—probably because they are floating. I gave this frog one star because the colors are really nice but the rest leaves a lot to be desired as far as quality construction goes. I still love Gambler Baits overall, but not this attempt at a frog. Go get a Jackall (Gavacho) frog or one of the Snagproof products, they have much better construction.
