Overview
Delivering the perfect combination of profile and action, the Googan Baits Bandito Bug Craw will produce bites and put fish in the boat 365 days a year. Molded with a ribbed body that produces substantial vibration, the Googan Baits Bandito Bug Craw features elongated claws and multiple side pinchers that are all equipped with a raised ridge, which generate a lively and fast kicking action.
Extremely versatile as well, the Googan Baits Bandito Bug Craw is deadly when flipped and pitched on a Texas-rig, but it is also lethal when fished on the back of a jig, swinging wobble head, Carolina-rig, and even a shaky head. Loaded with salt and a heavy dose of Slaunch Sauce that makes fish hold on longer, the Googan Baits Bandito Bug Craws is one that you need to have tied-on every time you hit the water.

Comments: Bandito Bug catches them anywhere, however.......Durability is VERY VERY POOR
From: nancy: bham al 6/14/23
Comments: I like the action on these, they also smell great too and are really salty. I think everyone can agree that the durability is lacking though. I think these get more bites but the Rage Bug out performs this in every other way
From: Isaac: Minnesota 10/14/22
Comments: I doubted this bait at first but it has very good action on a t-rig and tokyo rig. I've had better luck with a bandito bug than with a rage bug. Bama bug color on a tokyo-rig seems to catch fish everywhere, especially in thick grass. Durability also wasn't as bad as I expected but it still lasts anywhere from 2-3 fish. This is the only googan plastic I've tried that I'd recommend, but if you are more confident with a rage bug, throw a rage bug instead. There's not a giant gap in quality or effectiveness between the two baits.

Comments: Durability of the bait is terrible. For the money that you pay, the durability of the bait should be far superior for what you are getting. Color variety is decent and action is good however when you run through an entire pack on just 6 fish something has to give. Tips rip easy on EWG hooks and doesn't last near like other competitive baits.

Comments: Honestly I tried to like these, they look good but one fish and they're toast. I throw them in a container and use them for jig trailers after I catch a fish on them. I've had several come off the hook by just casting it. Don't get me wrong, they catch fish but no better than a Zoom Z-Craw and the Z-Craw last a lot longer. Not to mention, the Z-Craw is cheaper. I'm not a Googan Squad hater, if they'll catch fish, I'll use them and don't care who's name is on it, but for the price, they need to look at a different material.

Comments: Some people are either in love with these baits or hate them. Personally I don't care about the company I just want baits that work. I have used every single craw on the market, rage bugs, paca craws, chigger craws, z craws, craw fattys, ect. and of course the bandito bug. When comparing the bandito bug to the rest, they have more salt, the smell is good but many other companies use the same scent (or a slight variation)... because it is a good scent lol. They have quality colors but not a wide variety of colors which sucks. When in the water the action is good and is identical to the rage bug except for the 2 extra smaller legs that the rage bug doesn't have. The bandito bug is slimy because of all the scent/oil on the bait. Yum is far worse then googan when it comes to the excess oil so it's not really a big deal. The biggest downfall with this bait is the durability. It isn't a super soft craw but it does tear up easily which is interesting. Over all the bait is pretty good but I would prefer the rage bug for 1. More colors 2. It will last a couple more fish then the bandito will, and 3. Less expensive.

Comments: people say duribility is bad well it is but you have to sacrifice duribility for action and the action and smell is insane
From: Unknown: Texas 5/17/21
Comments: Despite its lacking durability I still prefer the Bandito to the rage. You get 3 more baits and ive just had better luck with fish on them.
From: Unknown: 4/4/21
Comments: This bait is just a terrible knockoff version of the strike king rage bug. The durability on these baits is horrendous. I'm lucky is the claws don't rip off while dragging this bait through light cover. Go buy the strike king rage bug. It has better colors, better durability, better action, and it is provided at a cheaper cost. I would definitely NOT recommend these baits to anybody because they are a complete WASTE of money.
From: Chris P. Bacon: Cut And Shoot, TX 2/23/21
Comments: Like everything else Googan makes, it's a poor knockoff of a legit product.... in this case, stick with the Rage Bug... better colors, better action, and you can catch multiple fish on it.
From: Allan: 2/4/21
Comments: Googans bandito is a great bait but doesn't have enough toughness it a little to thin i have caught fish with them, can't take much abuse in cover i wish they were tougher but i'll still fish with them and great colors
From: Mike D: Gilmer 9/4/20
Comments: As you will see in every other review of this bait. The durability is garbage, in many instances it didn't even last for a single fish. But I figured, if the durability is terrible, then the action must be phenomenal. Now the action isn't bad, it is actually fairly good. Strike king rage bugs and rage craws have better action, better durability, more colors, and they are less expensive. They aren't a bad bait, I've caught some fish on them but there are better options out there

Comments: So... just noticed that the new bait is made in China (on the package), no longer made with Strike King, does not have the same Rage kicking craws. What the heck? It's like some cheap knock-off of the original. Didn't work nearly as well as the old ones and I thought something was different... just had to read the package to see the bait completely changed. Super lame. Back to Rage I go.
From: Justin: Katy, TX 8/25/20
Comments: Would love to see Googan change their plastic to make these baits more durable. One fish per bait isnt great, I mean they are four, five and six pounds but still... Work great but durability as you can see is very lacking.
From: Chris: Virginia 7/23/20
Comments: I picked up a pack to try in green pumpkin... I was is some very stained water, dipped the tips in red..I did catch a few nice fish on it but man, they're NOT durable... I went through a pack in no time, on 3 nice bass.. you catch one on a bandido bug, you need a new one.. you get hung up, you'll need a new one..I won't purchase any more..I'll stick with D-bombs or kinky beavers when I need that little bit extra vibration..
From: Mike: New Orleans, LA 7/9/20
Comments: Super impressed with the bandito bug, bought both sizes in multiple colors and 2 days in a row had a bite within 3-4 casts.. my favorite ways to fish it is a weightless Texas rig or as a jig trailer... black/blue flake on the back of a black and blue jig or weightless I like the okeechobee craw or the natural color... great job googan squad!
From: Adam: Massachusetts 6/3/20
Comments: These are my favorite bait to texas rig and throw around cover. The durability isn't great, as many other reviews have said, but the action is amazing. If you want a bait with a great action that downright works, this is it.
From: Brendan - Rockford, MI 6/3/20
Comments: Good bait, it catches fish, but you have to be ready to blow through a whole pack. The soft plastic makes for good action, but the plastic rips super easily, a good percentage of the time after only one or two fish. At almost $1 per bait you can buy the Strike King rage craw or rage bug for less and catch many more fish per bait on them. I'll only think about buying these when they're on a >25% off sale.
From: Brenden: Michigan 6/5/20
Comments: Like the action but there too soft one fish and the bait Is done!! I'll pay 6 bucks for something more durable then these Also I'll say some of the best laminate colors on the market the Okeechobee Craw is one of the best looking out there.
From: Josh: 5/23/20
Comments: Caught 5 fish on 1 bug and it was still going strong. Until I got it snagged. It's a great bait. People say its not durable but I haven't had a problem. Any plastic loaded with salt won't be as durable and one without salt. When you compare the price to other baits they match up pretty much the same. Would highly recommend to anyone.
From: Sean: Massachusetts 5/8/20
Comments: I got 15 large mouth bass on 4 bandito bugs. They are soft for a reason so that the apendeges flap and move more to get you more fish. My favorite way of riging them is weedless and weightless and move them in front of the fishes face
From: Unknown: 4/25/20
Comments: Took one cast and all the appendages came off... Basically all I have to say about this overhyped piece of garbage.
From: Matt: New York 4/19/20
Comments: They are great baits but not very durable.
From: David: Kentucky 4/18/20
Comments: These have become my go-to creature bait. For the stained water where I live, the "Bama Bug" color just kills it. It's sort of the perfect all-purpose color between green pumpkin and junebug. As others have mentioned, they are pretty soft, and not the most durable baits, but the action is unbeatable. I was really impressed the first time I tied one on, and caught fish flippiing into cover as well as hopping along the bottom. Extremely versatile and produces bites, period.
From: Unknown: 4/18/20
Comments: These baits aren't super durable but the softness allows the appendages to move a lot. In 45+ degree water drag on the bottom and wait for the little tick
From: Unknown: 3/16/20
Comments: Love these baits. Yes they're soft and not super durable but you can't beat the action. I've caught several fish over 5 lbs. on these things but the most memorable catches were two seven pounders (7.31 & 7.84) during a tournament. If i'm at a lake with grass or some kind of flipping structure you can bet I have one tied on. The "natural" color has been my workhorse.
From: Chris: Oklahoma City, OK 3/8/20
Comments: Durability is terrible and for the price I will not buy again. Still a good bait just needs to have more strength and not break on 1 fish.
From: Unknown: 2/20/20
Comments: Dude these bandito bugs are lit! They are great to throw on T rigs and jigs. Although really fragile these things catch fish and big one too!
From: Logan: Massachusetts 10/25/19
Comments: These baits, like all the Googan Baits, have incredible action. The durability of the bait, I will admit is nothing special, but the action of the bait and the performance make up for the lack of durability. Unlike other comments will say, you definitely can get 3 fish from one bait. Don worry too much about the durability, just enjoy how many fish you will catch.
From: Jackson: Buena Park, CA 10/10/19
Comments: These are very nice, I just wish they were more durable, but the fish like how soft they are, the LMB's on my lake are super picky but the blue baby and the green pumpkin works amazing.
From: Unknown: 10/7/19
Comments: Got to try these starting in July and it's only few days till October, I really like the action of it and they flat out catch bass, perfect for pitching around docks brush and lay downs, yeah they are on the soft side like most have stated but having a good action, profile, and whatever they use for sent attraction they really hold on. For punching matts they are a little to soft for the cover in my area, upper Mississippi river pools 9-13. The googan craw bait is a punching dream bait, but after you tare bandito bug up I bite the head off amd thow em on a jig and they keep going.
From: Pat: Iowa 9/26/19
Comments: These baits definitely catch fish. With all of this brands baits, there is definitely a trade off between durability and the softness of the plastic. With how soft they are, they have outstanding action. At the same time, you can burn through a pack of these in no time because they don't hold up that well. I'll definitely be buying more.
From: Chris: Phoenix, AZ 9/12/19
Comments: Nice scent but the durability is lacking. Spent 20 minutes flipping brush piles with this on a texas rig and the bug was toast. Was looking to buy these in bulk for the upcoming tournament season but unless I can get them handed to me for free, I am going to be looking for something a bit more reliable
From: Riley: South Carolina 9/2/19
Comments: These baits have great action but zero durability. I was looking forward to using them after checking out the action. Just a hookset can destroy these lures. Each fish I caught - including 12" bass rendered my Bandito bug useless. This bait has a lot of potential but Googan needs to toughen up the head of them with a stronger plastic. Don't waste your money!
From: FLAZJSG: Central NY 8/8/19
Comments: They work , have caught a decent amount on them. But wow are they fragile. One decent bass and its destroyed.
From: Rob: Maryland 7/31/19
Comments: Too thin which leads to poor durability. Ragetail or pit boss for me.
From: Matt: 7/30/19
Comments: Good bait, great action. I normal throw it on a light T Rig on a 4/0 VMC flipping hook my only down side of this bait is that it doesn't last very long. Might catch 2 fish on it before have to switch
From: Kevin: KY 8/23/19
Comments: Flat out catches fish. I've caught them with this bait on a jig, a Texas rig and have recently been doing well Throwing these on a flipping setup. The profile and action are just awesome and the scent just gives the fish something different that sets it apart from everything else they've seen
From: Jared: KY 7/22/19
Comments: Not a huge fan. Same look and action as a Rage Bug and 50 cents more per pack.. These rip easy and slide down the hook often. If you are looking for a new killer flipping bait I'd seriously look elsewhere.
From: Unknown 7/18/19
Comments: Basically a variation of a rage bug. It has a slight anise scent, and has a great action on the fall. Love this bait for pressured bass, definitely so, etching they've never seen before.
From: NewJerseyAnglin: NJ 7/11/19
Comments: I have had really good success with this bait, catching both largemouth and smallmouth on it. Has a killer looking action in the water and a great oily coating that is super smelly too. Durability is average, but it is made out of very soft and supple plastic so that's just the way it is, the softest baits with the best action are never the most durable ones. The way these catch fish I have no problem spending the money to buy more packs. Natural and Alabama Craw are my favorite colors to fish when the water is fairly clear.
From: John: Pennsylvania 6/26/19
Comments: Very good for pressured waters, the pond i fish is VERY pressured by mostly people throwing craws and senkos and this is a little bit different presentation, the scent is very good, it's not very natural and is artificial, but the fish hold on once they bite. I love the packaging, and colors. My only 2 problems with this bait is cost and durability. But you sacrifice durability for action. So if the top of the bait tears, bite it off and throw the rest on the back of a jig.
From: Robert: NC 6/20/19
Comments: Junebug color is I will admit durability isn't the best but remember folks pick Action or Durability. Always have a couple bags of Googan Baits. Guaranteed to catch Bass!!!!
From: Unknown: Merced, CA 6/20/19
Comments: I normally just texas rig these, but they are great for flipping and as jig trailers. I always have one tied on becuase they flat out catch fish. They have great action and amazing scent. The bad part is that they have very soft plastic which makes them fall apart after 3-4 fish.
From: Harrison: TN 6/13/19
Comments: These soft plastics are a must for your arsenal. I will admit they only hold up to a couple of bass and they are destroyed. But, the watermelon red dominates in stained water. These are killer! I would highly recommend you buy more than one pack if you fish every weekend.
From: Megan : Texas 4/24/19
Comments: Very good bait. Very similar action, durability, and profile as the rage bug. Haven't found one to be more effective than the other.
From: Isaac - 4/3/19
Comments: Meh, not too impressed. They're very thin and not durable at all. I'll stick to rage.
From: Taylor 4/1/19
Comments: So I've been fishing on a lake here in Louisiana and I've tried everything from spinners to swimbaits and even the strike king rage bugs and no bites. I finally was able to buy the bandito bug from my local academy and bought three packs, the June bug black blue and green pumpkin. First day trying the green pumpkin and they smoked it!!! I love these baits very durable which is weird because the plastic is very soft to the touch and the smell is phenomenal. I will always have these in my arsenal amazing job Googans!!!
From: Ryan: Louisiana 3/8/19
Comments: Probably my favorite of the Googan Baits. Caught a 6lb largemouth on these. Great action and surprisingly durable for how soft they are. Like the size too. Not too big, not too small...well done Googans!
From: JG: Nashville 10/31/18
Comments: Tried these out for the first time on a local northern Nevada pond and smoked them running the Bandito Bug on a PB&J jig. The scent of these baits is very strong and I'm sure carries quite a ways in the water to bring bites from far away. The arms take a very slight movement to produce a lot of flapping movement which is great for the slow hugging days. The bait also held up against multiple fish and being dragged through a lot of cover while still feeling very soft to the touch which is a challenging balance. Highly recommend. Very happy with my purchase. Ordering more today.
