Overview

Buzzbaits are one of the most exciting ways to catch fish, and its no secret they catch big fish as well.  The Jackall Firecracker Buzzbait delivers premium Japanese performance and craftsmanship with high-quality features that are second-to-none.  One of the loudest buzzbaits to ever hit the market, the Firecracker boasts a unique two-prop design. As the Firecracker moves across the water’s surface, the main prop spins clockwise, while a small screw propeller spins counter-clockwise. This causes the props to hit each other and produce an eruption of high-pitched cracking sounds, while also emitting strong shock waves that stimulate the lateral lines of big bass and call them in from greater distances.

Built with stout 1.4mm diameter wire that holds up to the biggest bass, the hefty wire also allows anglers to use braided super lines without having to worry about damaging or bending the Firecracker Buzzbait.  Outfitted with a keeled, bass boat style head as well that gets on plain quickly and deflects off cover with ease, the Firecracker also comes equipped with a premium Owner Cutting Point Hook and a high quality hand-tied skirt.  Put all of grandpa’s old buzzers away and experience the difference yourself with the uniquely designed Jackall Firecracker Buzzbait.

Nothing like any other buzzbaitI've fished these baits for two summers now and they are by far the top earner when it comes to my buzzbait collection. My dad really thought my real was broken due to the "clanking" noise these baits make....drives the Delaware bass mad!

Comments: The worst example of mechanical engineering I ever seen in lure manufacturing! A threaded nut w/threads holding the blade on it's shaft desigined to unscrew (along w/the blade)in the same direction as the blades rotates. Bought 2 Firecracker Buzzbaits - both brass nuts unscrewed and fell off along w/the blade after a couple uses- never caught any fish on either- A disappointment as a product w/the parent company being Shimano North America Fishing!

Comments: I bought 2 of these Jackall Buzzbaits and WOW is this a fish catcher. Tied on the Chartruse and White one this morning and I fish on a tough, tough, lake; Ross Barnett Res. in Ridgeland, MS. Started throwing it around some lily pads and cut away in the creek channel feeding the lake. WHAM! soon as I started retreiving it. Caught 3 in a row one cast after another before the bite shut off. This Buzzbait is a keeper and the best fish catching Buzzbait I've every thrown. I know, if Jackall makes it, it's gotta be good.

Comments: First thing it's a great looking buzz bait colorway options and overhaul on looks, the artistic craftsmanship is very impressive and high quality, the bait also sounds really great, very unique loud sound (a clack/ding and high pitch squeak combo) made a nice change up option on an old classic, It even cast great and doesn't seem to make a giant splash when it hits the water. Trailer keeper is also a plus but needs worked on (it doesn't hold heavier/ wider water displacing bait options) the first outing I had a few decent blowups and it seemed to be the ticket up shallow and in 2-4ft of water with overcast skies. On the down side I had to clean the bait constantly, the little prop would not function with even a smidge of grass on it it also ran sideways after a few cast so it needed tuning if it sustained any thick grass around propeller or clacker prop and last but not least on the 15-20th cast I had the prop bead on back end break free causing the clacker action to be non existent thus ruining the gimmick of the bait (It was not fished hard or beat on rocks on the bank) and also creating a grass catcher on the front end. Needless to say it's a loss if this happens and you lose the uniqueness of sound and action. Maybe it was a bad one from the batch or maybe it's made for a no vegetation area... either way I'd just stick to the original style buzz, it shines for a little while but I think it needs some reevaluating especially in performance and durability department.

Comments: It worked as advertised until I caught a decent fish. The main hook opened up some. Just like every other clacking buzz bait I've tried you have to keep tuning it once you get bit. Saw one in the store that the bead holding the small prop in place broke free and made it not work. Mine also laid on its side just like a previous reviewer. The jury is still out with me, it did catch several nice keepers, of course my buddy caught the same with another brand right behind me.

From: David: Raymore, MO 9/30/17

Comments: Great sound. The keeper on it is sub par though. Does not allow you to keep soft plastics on it well, without them falling down. If it had a better keeper would be excellent.

From: Unknown 7/20/17

Comments: This is surprisingly effective. The 1/2 oz will attract some BIG bass. I've had them jump out and inhale like a popper and I've had them slurp them off the surface. either way, super impressed by how good of a topwater this is.

From: Unknown: 7/10/17

Comments: Wow! It hits the water like a box of rocks - I mean it's the loudest landing 3/8's ounce lure I've ever cast - it's bound to spook the fish. I mean it is so loud that I have ZERO confidence in this bait. It does create a neat fuss once it's in the water - more like a geiger counter than a firecracker.
I think it has potential as a night time bait - so I will give that a whirl. Otherwise, I'll stick to Lunker Lure. So far, in 3 hours of fishing I have caught one dink bass (sub pounder); so color me unimpressed. Definitely NOT worth $17.

From: Carlton: Raleigh, NC 6/13/17

Comments: This is a good buzzbait but it does have a few issues. I bought 2 of each color except black and bream when they were 1st being sold on tacklewarehouse. The #1 problem with this buzzbait is that the propeller blade makes the bait run on it's side straight out of the package. I used the baits on both 30 lb braid and 15 lb big game mono.  I would say 6 out of the 8 baits have this issue of wanting to run on it's side. When the bait works like it's supposed to  it is extremely loud and has a unique sound. I ended up getting frustrated with the bait running on it's side and actually removed the propeller. Doing this  you have a high quality "regular" buzzbait that works all the time  has the good "squeaky" sound  and will catch fish.

From: Drew: Alabama 5/15/17

Comments: Works great but does have an issue with collecting grass/lilly pads in the small prop. Run over open stained water it is a killer.

From: Paul: TX 4/26/17

Comments: money bait. great for muddy or super dark water; the sound is crazy loud and it gets through most cover well. high quality components and colors too!
