Overview

From Japan with love, the Jackall Riser Bait 007 delivers a one of a kind, panicked action that recreates the movement of a baitfish as it skitters across the surface in an attempt to evade predators. Designed with a precisely angled, upward metal lip, the Riser Bait 007 jumps to the surface almost immediately, and generates an erratic skipping action that triggers explosive topwater strikes. Backed by two sticky sharp Japanese treble hooks that provide unparalleled hook penetration, the Jackall Riser Bait 007 is the new James Bond of topwater fishing.

Comments: This lure is awesome! I've caught giants on the same hooks it comes with. Don't listen to others on here saying the hooks are too small. If you have your drag set properly (loose), and have it on the correct rod (ml), you can catch big fish even in grass. Wish it was in stock more and probably should leave bad reviews so it's not available. Awesome lure!

Comments: This bait has almost everything.  Long casting due to shape and weight. Great action that drives local smalleys crazy.  However  I have struggled for months trying to figure out a hook combination that improves hook ups.  The stock size 8 treble hooks and oval split ring line tie make the lure dance. However 50% or worse of strikes are lost due to the tiny hooks.  I came up with a size 6 belly treble hook with split ring and size 6 Gamakatsu open eye Siwash #10007 on the tail as a good compromise.  No split ring on the tail hook.  Mount with hook facing up.  Also got rid of the oval line tie split ring for a conventional s/s standard split ring.  Lure still has great action and my hook ups are probably better that a standard Zara Spook.  Probably 90% get stuck on the belly hook.  I really like the bait after modifications.  It almost ended up in the archives of my old tackle!

Comments: Nice bait but hooks are small and weak. Replace them before you hit the water.

Comments: This Bait is awesome i throw it on 10lb braid with about a 12inch 15lb mono leader, the mono keeps the bait from running over your line and also i do a steady reel and a twitching(walk the dog) motion keep you drag fairly loose i have caught about 50-60 on it already and not lost a single one

Comments: Really nice action, if fish are popping on baitfish then this is the perfect lure. There is one thing I did not like however. The paintjob on the lure is not durable at all, after catching 2 fish. The paint started peeling alittle

Comments: Action like a stick, cracks me up. These things are killer little baits, little being the trigger for some big bites. The hooks are #8's stock and can be switched out to #6's with not too much action being robbed. The trick to getting the most out of the plain stock bait is....use a braid in 15# size (I prefer 15# Seagaur Smackdown, don't use the 10# as it will break) and throw on a medium action rod with the drag set for 6 to 8 pound line so the hooks don't pull out. My first fish on this thing was close to 6 pounds. During the shad spawn you had better tie a good knot! My best advice is to watch YouTube and look up riser007, it is in Japanese so I couldn't understand what they were saying, but I could hear the braid and watched the guys technique. Use reel speed to control action. And for the "swimbait" guys if you can find the 015P, well lets say that those are right up your alley!

Comments: The description of this bait implies all you have to do is reel it in and it has a side to side wobble.  Wrong.  When reeling it has no more action than a stick.  To get any action you have to work it in a walk the dog fashion.  Very misleading Jackall.  I would not recommend this lure.

Comments: Maybe it catches fish but trebles will never hold good bass. There are the size of brim hooks. The lure is about 3/4 the length of a cigarette and as big around though maybe a tiny bit more circumference.

Comments: Ordered this the day it was released on TW and have to say it's a pretty neat lure. First 3 casts had 3 bites. Very cool action. There's not doubt that this thing will catch fish with a few small tweaks. The hooks on this lure are super small. While adding larger hooks could change the way it swims, it would definitely help in hook up ratios. Secondly, I'd have to say it is best fished on really light equipment. It cast just fine with 10lb line and on my 705cb but I think it would have been preferred on a light action spinning rod with 6-8lb line. Get a far cast cause you really have to burn this thing in to keep it on top of the water to get that skipping affect. If not, I noticed it works great as a small jerkbait as well. Definitely something different.
