Overview

Proudly endorsed by the world-renowned professional bass angler, Skeet Reese, the KastKing Skeet Reese Icon Casting Reel is the pinnacle of featherlight performance coming in at 7oz. It’s robust aluminum frame and durable carbon fiber side plates provide remarkable strength, ensuring longevity without sacrificing mobility. The Automag Dual Braking System is a game-changer, significantly improving casting distance while minimizing frustrating overruns. The 7.2:1 gear ratio makes this reel a versatile choice for various techniques, including topwater baits, jerkbaits, and jigs. This higher gear ratio also contributes to solid hooksets on those long casts, reducing missed opportunities.

When it comes to stopping power, the Skeet Reese Icon doesn't disappoint, thanks to its Triple Disc Carbon Fiber Drag Washers, capable of delivering up to 17.6 pounds of maximum drag. The double-bearing supported pinion gear ensures smooth operation even under heavy loads. Added premium features like TPE handle knobs for comfort and control and the patented Low Friction Tapered Vortex line guide for greater casting distance make this reel a must-have for serious anglers. Elevate your fishing experience and reel in your next trophy catch with the KastKing Skeet Reese Icon Casting Reel.

Value-oriented performanceThis is a great little baitcaster for the price. Hard to tell that this is value-oriented besides the plastic gear holder and plastic line guide holder (although the actual line guide and gear are metal) and price. Frame is cnc'd aluminum according to box specs and is very stiff at the reel seat. All of the tolerances feel great and the handle is super smooth. The rubber used on the handles is super grippy but I'm not sure how long it'll last in the elements. It's also the kind of rubber that kind of traps dirt and gets streaked easily by black marks but rinses clean in water just as easily. Overall feel is great and this caster fits super comfortably in my hand.

SmoothThis reel is very comfortable to cast. It's light weight and fits well in my palm. I love the superior braking system. The drag and the spool tension adjustment are solid. The spool tension adjustment knob has crisp little clicks that you can feel and hear to help adjust for the weight of my lure. I paired this with my Kast King Brutus Rod and it feels amazing!

Great ValueThis reel has great balance all around for my needs. It feels sturdy in my hand, but not bulky. Breaks are perfect from slowing down any backlash. Guide sets up great casts. Gear ratio pulls them back in no time. Quick lure holder keeps in place in between each catch.

Nice reelThis is a smooth reel and it looks great. It's going to be my new work horse for bed fishing. The handles have really good grip and I love the color combo of the reel.

Impressed!!I got this reel to use on a trip to Florida. I was impressed at the features for the $$ and I was intrigued by the auto adjusting brakes. I have taken it out twice and this thing really casts well. I used it with a chatterbait and a little 1/8 need. It was money for both. I only have it 4 stars because I haven't caught anything yet to test the drag, but it definitely a winner. This is my first KastKing but I have reels from Lews, Shimano, and Daiwa and this reel holds it own against them.

Squeaky When ReelingI was initially impressed how smooth it was in the beginning. I have brought it to 3 trips so far, during the fourth one, the handle starts to squeak. Good thing it wasn't the worm bearing or anything. I did the maintenance to clean and re lube and grease the main gear and all those stuff. It fixed it - I thought it was over. The next trip, I was using crankbait and it started to squeak again after 2 hours on the water. Not a great experience. If they fix this, it's actually a decently smooth and quiet reel.
