LEGIT DESIGN WILD SIDE 5-Piece Travel Casting Rods
Overview
Designed for the traveling angler who refuses to compromise, the LEGIT DESIGN WILD SIDE 5-Piece Casting Rods are made with premium components and strong U-Joints to deliver portability without sacrificing strength and sensitivity. Reinforced with Aramid Fibers, this heat-resistant material offsets the brittleness of high modulus graphite by strengthening the rod and keeping the blank flexible for enhanced action, improved tenacity, and a longer lifespan. WILD SIDE travel casting rods are fitted with Fuji ECS reel seats for increased stability.
The rod sections are joined by a dowel glued securely into the lower rod section, and when properly assembled, the two rod sections do not meet and are separated by upwards of a 1/2”. This spigot ferrule or U joint connection has long been the preferred joint for high end fly rods, by providing a smoother rod action regardless of the number of sections and offering the feeling of a one-piece rod as the action flows seamlessly along the blank. Arrows illustrate where the pieces should align, and the sections lock into place with a quarter turn.
All 5-piece Legit Design Rods come with a soft sided carrying case that adds only 2 ounces of weight. The case fits nicely into a carry-on bag or backpack and is great for taking with you on a plane or keeping behind the seat of your truck for that emergency fishing situation. LEGIT DESIGN WILD SIDE 5-Piece Casting Rods feature technique specific builds including a ‘Big Bait Special’ created for swimbaits, as well as multi-purpose rods suitable for a number of applications.

Comments: Bought a MH 5 piece and took it to Costa Rica and crushed the Guapote, Machaca and others. Rod is a beast. Definitely a good buy. Maybe a tad overpriced and a hard case would make it more appealing. I had to travel with it in a cardboard rod tube cut down to travel size.
