Best rod for the moneyI own 16 of them! Some are 4+years old. Some are a few month old. I buy more every time my budget allows. I do own much higher price point rods in multiple different brands and keep buying more lews. I honestly believe it’s the best rod for the money.

Best Buzz Bait Rod There isThe Lew's Football Jig rod in the Custom Series Speed Stick makes the best buzzbait rod. The moderate fast action and the parabolic tip make it excellent for open hook moving baits. It is a great rod to add to your arsenal.

Comments: I have the 7ft MH paired with a tatula elite and it's the best rod I've ever used at this price point. It's SUPER light but not fragile like other super light rods at this price point. And I Love the reel seat. I've put this rod through heck and back and haven't had a single problem with it. Will definitely be buying more.

Comments: I own several 6/10 MH great for top water poppers 7ft MH perfect for Texas rig worms Texas rig flukes and Flipping tubes 7/2 M great cranking rod n lipless 7/2 MH perfect for the Thunder Cricket 7/2 H perfect frog rod I definitely recommend it price is perfect for the performance

Comments: I've been using the 6'8 Medium Moderate Fast for about a year now and IMO it's been the perfect top water treble hook bait rod. I have it paired with a SLX DC and it's a match made in heaven. The rod has a nice parabolic bend and really keeps those treble hooks pinned, it's a true moderate fast it doesn't lay completely over like a moderate crank rod would. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase. If you're looking for a top water rod give the 6'8 M a try.

Comments: I can't speak for the other length and power within the series, but Iâve owned the 7 MH/fast for a year now and can share my own thoughts. I specifically use the rod for throwing 1/4 to 3/8oz bottom baits and have been very pleased. The rod feels very light and well balanced similar to the shimano zodias. When it comes to the tip, the rod does feel stiffer than the dobyns fury and slightly almost-to-none softer than the zodias. About sensitivity, I would have to say it outshine most rod around it's price point. Sensitivity feels like a $180-$200 rod.  You can definitely feel all kind of structures as you drag the bait along the bottom and most importantly detect bites even from the smaller bass.I put the rod through some rough conditions and haven't had a single issue. Overall I like rod and would recommend it.

Comments: I had a previous gen Speed Sitck which snapped like due to my own fault. Lews replaced it under warranty and sent me the new gen (this one) due to no stock of the old gen. I can say that I have not had a single problem with the reel seat and I actually do really like them a lot. I can see that some reels may be a really snug fit but rather it snug than loose. I really like the action of my 7' 3" MedHvy. It has more of a softer tip than something like a Shimano SLX of equal power and length. softer tip but transfers into a good backbone. The rod is very light, comparable to my Shimano Poison. In terms of sensitivity, I would grade it a good 7.5/10. Based on dragging a 3/8 and 1/2 jig over pebbles, small rocks. With the softer tip the feeling is more like someone slowly pulling the line vs the Shimano Poison which is more like someone tapping your rod with a wrench. This ISNT BAD by any means. I use this rod for 1/4oz - 3/8oz texas rigs and jigs. I feel like 1/2oz and up over power the 7' 3" medhvy with he softer tip. Overall with everything (price, sensitivity, feel, weight, etc) considered, I would rate this rod a solid 7.5/10.

Comments: Honest opinion here. I owned the speed sticks, both new and old models. I own the custom lite series as well and that is one I will continue to fish. The guides are cheap and had two rods break. I was all Lews until I fished dobyns. Even the fury is a great pole for the price. I have the DX, DC and SA. Hmjust my opinion they are light and cool until the guides break. I snapped too many to continue to buy.

Comments: Have 2 of the mag bass 1, 1 of the mag bass 2 and 1of the mag frog... Unlike the 1st reviewer below, I have had not one issue with reel seats with over a year of use and plenty of hooksets and multiple 7-10lb bass. One lemon doesn't mean the whole series is bad. About to buy another mag frog as well.

From: KG: SC 2/22/21

Comments: Bought the 7'2 heavy. The rod looks good and feels good. The eva foam on the grip is the nice dense foam, not that softer stuff like some rods have. I thought this would be a good purchase. I put a lews tournament slp on it but when I tightened it down on the reel seat, the real seat came unglued from the rod shaft and now the reel seat spins around the shaft. Upon further inspection, I think this new "g-clutch" reel seat is a flawed design. There is not enough material from the reel seat in contact with the shaft of the rod. I honestly don't think there is going to be any way for this rod to last a very long time without the same thing happening again. I have many lews rods and reels and they are all top notch but, I will not buy another one of this model.
